this is actually good!! haha! nothing better than the tragic death of lovers in a historical kdrama.
Yeah ! And that annoying character getting away with things because he was smarter than them. Like, the number of people who wanted littlefinger on the throne just because he was smart is crazy, even though he was a shitty character! Well written antagonist getting away with things is fine for me, as long as the story is not written by lazy writters!
He gets away all the time because everyone else selectively becomes very dumb to allow him this.
"with better writting I mean" you're too focused on the current plot while I'm talking hypothetically. he's not going to win so they were lazy with how he was getting away with things but if they decided from the get go to make him the winner of the story, they could have write him getting away with things better since that would be the goal of the story. then THAT ending would have been great for me!

No but like, with better writing I mean. If they were not going to make a part2, they could have made it so that he was the surviver of the story, like write the story around his success despite not being ML. Of course with what we currently have as a plot, he survives because everyone is dumb enough to always either trust him even though he's clearly a liar or let him get away (idk why he wasn't arrested in episode 19 in the first place).
Ok but like, if there were no part 2, Jang uk dying and Naksu turning to stone would have been such an amazing ending ! Why ? Because then the real hero (or anti-hero) of this story would have been Jin mu and his great ability to survive. He reminded me of Littlefinger from Game of Thrones the entire time and for him to get the ending (or at least save himself) that Littlefinger didn't have would have been such a great way to end the show. In the end, only the smarter survive. Of course it's not a "Chaos is a pit, chaos is a ladder" kind of plot, but still. To see that despite everything he won...hehehe Like I said before, the plot of this drama features too many characters for me to consider that the main one is Naksu/Mu-deok+Jang uk and Jin mu was way more interesting than them considering that he literally drove the plot more than the two main (who were to busy being in love and all). He carried the plot: he created naksu, he helped the shaman become queen, he created the soul shifters. He did everything ! I would have loved to see him get what he want lol, to see that cockroach survive even fire.... fun
Of course it's a K-drama and only the main leads can "win" the game even if it's rigged af.
20 episodes was a bit scary since kdrama are use to dragging the plot a lot but one can't deny the fact that there is always something in each episodes that brings new information to help the plot move forward, which is really good because apart from 2 episodes, none of them were boring and I have been enjoying watching them.
But since I love to complain : The romance between Naksu and Jung Uk takes too much room and it's annoying me. I just feel like I was more excited at the first part of the show than the second. The main leads use to be way more involved in the plot than now. Jung uk's training was fun and important because I thought it would be the key for Naksu to regain her power and all. Now it's like Jung uk trained, is better and...that's it. The plot moves forward but only through the side characters. Like, Jin mu is a much more interesting character for me than the leads and it's been a like that for a few episodes. From my pov, both leads are now mostly (not only, but mostly) here for the romance part of the plot. Maybe that's why I loved the first part better, the focus was not on their love story. All the exciting parts of the show for me have been related to side characters lately. Of course in the last 2 episodes they will be more involved but it's been many episodes now that the plot has been carried by the side characters more than the main leads. I thought Naksu getting her power back would come earlier. Naksu has been a maid for the whole show, and I know that it's because there is a part 2 but idk, I just expected to see the real her way sooner (so I'm not among those who have a problem with FL being replaced haha). It's still a good show though !
You're actually on the popular opinion side haha, the show was not well written at all. Neither the case nor the…
All your complaints are valide and at least in the comment section we are a few to agree with you (as the many liked your received attest), some of our more developped comments below might please you. But yeah I started watching it myself too because of the ratings so it's annoying that so many people seem to lack critical thinking and drag the ratings up when a 9.2 is waaay to high. It's missleading and I had known I wouldn't have started it
I really enjoyed the first 12 episodes (until that stupid ending scene with Jung was the sign we had entered clicheland,…
Same, I have particular taste when it comes to books and romance is not my favorite genre so obviously most recommendations are never good for me. The funny thing is that the one who complain the most are the writers with the worst books. She argumented by saying "we just please the audience, they want to read that simple thing, we give it to them" as if it negates the idea that as simple as the plot can be, it doesn't mean you can write like a 12yo.
Oh I love me some fictions, unfortunately the most talented authors are never the one that are published... I can't with wattpad though so I mainly use ao3 and well, it's only fanfictions there. But I have 0 patience though so I usually read either completed or one shot fanfictions. What do you write about ?
I'm sorry but the cat analogy? Instead of acknowledging her "making people lonely" problem from the beginning…
I meant the way anyone would work to make a relationship work you know. Like listening more to your partner etc...Maybe I chose my word poorly. I don't think people with autism are incapable of doing that (at least not all of them, spectrum and all) and she didn't strike me as someone who couldn't either (at least not the way she was written). She clearly don't understand how some social rules work but she can learn, it goes with the experience. Of course she won't function exactly like a neurotypical person, but I would have rather see her go through the learning experience than what they gave us

It reminds me of this debate on twitter about the time people waste on books because of booktok recommandations and how people have such low standards that they are happy with the worst written books ever. Then this author on twitter was like "people who are annoyed that stupid simple books are best sellers are so annoying, not everyone wants to open a book and read smart things". A well written structured storyline is the bare minimum but ok.

I'll correct you! I don't have a problem with her autism but with HOW they wrote the love story. I said in a previous comment that the whole "I make people lonely" part is not at all unrealistic for it can happen to people on the spectrum, right? And she knows that, she even aknowledged it to him. Why didn't they make that aknowledgment EARLIER in the show and then work from there. They brought it at the very end which led to no developement at all. The summary says autist attorney blablabla struggles with social interactions. Why not show that? 16 episodes and they gave us nothing of that sort in their relationship. There clearly are issues, but they either brushed it away or brought it up at the end. It's lost potential. In my opinion, they should have showed us challenges from the get go and show us how she navigates through them throughout the show, to match the whole "struggles with social interactions". It was not shown well enough, mainly because the law cases took so much screen time, but in the case where they can't give proper time to her growth in a relationship, they shouldn't have shown it in the first place. I don't know, I guess I expected the "social struggles" to be more centric of the stroyline. They gave more time to the cases but even then it was not well done... In any case I don't want her to CHANGE, I wanted the writers to give her proper time to explore her relationship with Junho and do it in a better way than "his family doesn't love me, I make people lonely, let's break up" at the VERY END. I hope I explained myself a bit better to you regarding my expectations, but again these are mine alone, so of course someone who did not expect the same things will not be disapointed (don't mind the spelling mistakes)

lmao if the shoe fits 🤷 The problem is how the relationship was written from the get go, at the end the did with what they had, what else was he suppose to say ?
