Title The King of Pigs Spoiler
Me too! If it wasn't so underrated I wouldn't feel like it but for some reason I'm so proud to see new comments…
I'm watching episode 6 already lmao, I'm sooo hooked! It reminds me of Extracurricular, especially the main character! I don't know if you've seen it but it's also something you might like, the vibe is like a mix between TKOP (especially the anti-hero part) and Weak Hero, though I would say it is as dark as TKOP. I'll update you once I'm finished. So far it's so good, I'm mad I already almost finished it, I should have savoured it T_T
The bromance and their fallout is killing me, Shi eun who was so closed off seem to suffer so much from losing Beom Seok. I hope he comes back in the band

I feel the same lmaooo
ohhh I haven't heard of weak hero, just saw it now as a rec from this page, if you feel this strongly about it, I'm definetly watching that tonight! I hope I'll love it too, no drama could compare and I was left disapointed on everything this year

Me too! If it wasn't so underrated I wouldn't feel like it but for some reason I'm so proud to see new comments and more people watching it. The contrary of gatekeeping haha
No drama this year made me feel like this one and I got so attached to Kim Chul, I just want more people to feel that too. It's embarassing really to be that attached to a fictional drama lol

Title Somebody
Everyone seriously needs to chill with the "their ruining K-dramas" or "it's just horrible and westernized now".…
right, it's AS IF ... not every kdrama is made for everyone

Title Little Women
Finally gave this one a shot, disapointed with the thrillers this year (apart from the king of pigs).
It was very slow at first, it took time to get to the plot so I guess it's a good thing I binged watched it.
It was entertaining at first but very predictible and it went sideways real quick towards the ending. The plotholes (or sometimes the poor choice of writing) were too numerous, along with the annoying plot armure of the sisters (no reason for any of them to still be able when fighting a secret society depicted as so powerful).
It's still watchable but I wouldn't give it a 8.7 at all.

Title Extracurricular Spoiler
Both of them are mid, atleast for me. The ending was rushed with both of em and the characters unlikable, but…
The characters are anti-heroes so the unlikable part might be the reason why? As for the rushing I didn't think it was the case for TKOP, maybe the unexpected ending was a bit overwhelming considering what we expected to happen.
As for extracurricular I watched it a bit ago so I can't remember the pacing of the ending and can't really give a based opinion.
To each their own, but it's cool that it was still entertaining for you :)

I watched it on your recommendation and IT WAS SO GOOOD!!! That show is criminally underrated
People tend to focus more on romance drama so they're the more popular ones. So many people skip very good kdrama just because there is no romance (was literally asked if this one had romance in it by someone in the comment lol).
I guess it depends on what kind of drama you are looking for, but yeah people only focusing on one genre result in so many good dramas going under the radar. Also people watch things with actors they know. Since the none of the actor in KOTP were in any BIG kdrama, people would have skipped just because they didn't know the actors

No waaaaay, I'm so happy you took a chance on it and liked it !!! Easily the best drama of the year, it saddens me that so few people watched it !
It's sad we don't get more dramas like extracurricular, mouse or TKOP

On Change Days Season 2 Sep 2, 2022
Isn't it funny that the moment Ji-yu became more confident in expressing herself and no longer taking Dohyeon's bullshit is when he decides that he might not chose her ? lmao
It sounds like as long as she was shuting up and being docile, the only problem was her ghosting him. It's like they only came here because of this one problem (translation: they came here because of her). He thougt she would have to make efforts. She would have to crawl. He thought he could just go on dates, making her feel the way she felt with no complains on her part, without her ever opening her mouth or going on dates either because of the guilt of the ghosting thing. Now she changed and spoke for herself, dude freaks out loool. He's a walking red flag !

Hyogi is seriously crazy lmaoo that dude needs malde validation so fcking bad, see how he always seek T's male validation? And when T made that comment he lashed on his poor girlfriend? That comment was not even about their couple in general, T was just bitter that he got complains from his girlfriend because of the dishes lmao ! I ope YS dumps him!

He gets away all the time because everyone else selectively becomes very dumb to allow him this.
Yes but like we already established the other characters are being fooled to easily so this part of the plot ruins it for him (or for me). He should be able to get away with things without other characters being dumbed down. Which mean better writting.

ahhhh, but since he would not be main lead, you wouldn't know until the very ending though hahaha
Honestly some antagonists are so well written (like my exemple of little finger) that sometimes I'm really okay with them winning, because you're like "ok I don't like them, but I understand why".
Like it would the good king of infuriating you know? Then you're just like "no way they did that!". But it has to be really well built and well written.
Jin mu I would have been fine for me with better writting

this is actually good!! haha! nothing better than the tragic death of lovers in a historical kdrama.
Yeah ! And that annoying character getting away with things because he was smarter than them. Like, the number of people who wanted littlefinger on the throne just because he was smart is crazy, even though he was a shitty character! Well written antagonist getting away with things is fine for me, as long as the story is not written by lazy writters!

"with better writting I mean"
you're too focused on the current plot while I'm talking hypothetically. he's not going to win so they were lazy with how he was getting away with things but if they decided from the get go to make him the winner of the story, they could have write him getting away with things better since that would be the goal of the story.
then THAT ending would have been great for me!

No but like, with better writing I mean. If they were not going to make a part2, they could have made it so that he was the surviver of the story, like write the story around his success despite not being ML.
Of course with what we currently have as a plot, he survives because everyone is dumb enough to always either trust him even though he's clearly a liar or let him get away (idk why he wasn't arrested in episode 19 in the first place).

Ok but like, if there were no part 2, Jang uk dying and Naksu turning to stone would have been such an amazing ending !
Why ? Because then the real hero (or anti-hero) of this story would have been Jin mu and his great ability to survive. He reminded me of Littlefinger from Game of Thrones the entire time and for him to get the ending (or at least save himself) that Littlefinger didn't have would have been such a great way to end the show.
In the end, only the smarter survive. Of course it's not a "Chaos is a pit, chaos is a ladder" kind of plot, but still. To see that despite everything he won...hehehe
Like I said before, the plot of this drama features too many characters for me to consider that the main one is Naksu/Mu-deok+Jang uk and Jin mu was way more interesting than them considering that he literally drove the plot more than the two main (who were to busy being in love and all). He carried the plot: he created naksu, he helped the shaman become queen, he created the soul shifters. He did everything !
I would have loved to see him get what he want lol, to see that cockroach survive even fire.... fun

Of course it's a K-drama and only the main leads can "win" the game even if it's rigged af.
