On Extraordinary Attorney Woo Aug 10, 2022
It could have a been a cute 8 episode mini serie about the challenges of being autistic when being an attorney, especially considering how ablesit SK is but nope, the second they introduced romance it looks like it was doomed to follow the cliché path every rom kdrama follow.
It's not that we think the challenges of an autistic person in a romantic relationship is cliché, it's just that it could have been brought in a different way than the overused "your family don't like me, we can't be together" kind of way. Considering how WYW listens to her BFF to the letter, maybe it could have been something she said but WYW didn't interpret properly and ended up doing the opposite or something. Like a reason that's linked to her being autistic and her understanding of the world maybe ? More than just the world being yet again like "you don't deserve this blablabla". Or him asking her to make some effort (like, dude never talks about himself and she never asks) because that's how a relationship works but of course she wouldn't know . Again, it's not that disaproving families don't happen when faced with a person with a handicap, it's just that the "my family disaprove, oh we should break up" trope is just soo overused. Difficulties in a relationship can happen in so many different ways...

You know what, maybe I'm being too political about this, maybe her being autistic shouldn't be reason to treat this rom kdrama differently than any other rom kdrama. Then maybe I wouldn't be disapointed in the vilain redemption arc because "oh, a girl." and the cliché touch of sadness with one of the character being ill. I mean, we do have a ML that's first degree not ever tired of dolphin talk, it was a sign lol.

With purely antagonistic characters I can only think of Mouse and The King of Pigs (highly recommend the second…
I second the first two !!!

Guys can you share with me some K-dramas where the ML or FL is the villain? (Not Vincenzo, I already watched it).…
The only three that matter : The King of Pigs, Mouse and Extracurricular

Apparently, Korean men are appalled by the 'blatant feminism' in ep 12 and claim that the the show 'demonises…
Who is surprised? Korean men are sooooo misogynistic.
One of the problem I have with this drama is how unrealistic the ML is, compared to how korean men actually are. The ableism is crazy in SK, coupled with misogyny.... ML comes straight out of a fantasy book.

A casting director that casts him as ML only cares about his pretty face and not his acting. It's very much an indication that the drama will be bad. He's really not good, no hate at all, he really just isn't.

It's not confirmed officially who will be the FL in part 2, if anyone.
Ahh yeah, but it seems like it's given that she won't come back and will only announce it after her character's death

looks like mudeok/jin buyeon will be the sacrfice this Part 1
That would be the only explanation for FL's departure in part 2 indeed

I'm not sure if I am analyzing this correctly. The different mage levels are based on the ability to "control"…
Yep, you pretty much understood the plot so far! It's not even a bad plot but they focus on the most trivial thing which makes the original ideas lost in the filming, at least that's how I feel things.

"As for 'Naksu", she's been losing her Naksu-ness ever since she jumped in the lake"
ah, what I meant is that what we first saw of her we haven't seen since she dies in her body, which is a pity

She was not focus on revenge anymore cos she knew the real heads behind the cause of her family downfall. Her…
It's what's been hinted in the beginning yes but how long has it been? We don't get any acces to her mind, all we know is what we see and though the plan is still the same, her actions speak another language

But I think it's been confirmed that FL for P1 won't come back, no?

I love that Jang uk did not win agains Yul, it would have ruined it for me, he's not strong enough even if he mastered Chisu.
I'm disapointed about how Mudeok is getting special treatment by all the main men as if she's not just a maid. Idk it seems unrealistic to me and like I already said, too much like ""plot armor""...
They are taking their time with the plot, unfolding more and more secrets, I'm glad the show will get 20 episodes, 16 wouldn't have been enough.
It could have been shorter if the romance part of the plot was not taking so much room. It's kind of ruining it for me... I'm not as excited as I used to be in the beginning. The whole super assassin getting all soft and all for a man.. well, I'm not a fan.
Naksu seems to have made her choice and if it ever come to it, she'll save Jung Uk before herself and it kind of clashes with the Naksu we got introduced to. It looks like her final goal (getting her power back) is no longer her main goal. It's like all she lives for now is Jung Uk... Like the jealousy thing is sooo... unlike what I thought she would be at first? idk
I guess I thought we had a strong female lead who had to manage to get back to her feet whle being in a powerless body and in the end we have a female support character for Jung Uk's journey. The introduction of romance between the two character ruined the whole "I'm only here to get my power back, you're just a mean to an end, don't get too excited, I'm a super assassin" or whatever.

Btw, Part 2 will have original Naksu actress as FL and LJW ad ML so it's pretty clear who he will end up with.

You were right. They never explained why or how the girl actual died just to put it out there. Her father also…
Yeah, people here seem to have low standards, it's a pity. I feel like the strenght of kdramas is their low number of episodes compared to western shows who tend to have a million of episodes and a millions of seasons which eventually lead to a botched ending. When you have a fixed amount of episodes, the dragging shouldn't happen imo, it should be efficient. Yet people still have no problem watching shows that dragg plots even when it's only 16 episodes...

You should definetly watch it, I really loved it. Gave me the same vibe as extracurricular for a second

I feel like they still showed her a lot because for the first episodes, they need to get people interested enough to keep watching and it's clear she was the most interesting one. Now that people got invested in 2 episodes, some will keep watch it regardless of her departure.
Hadn't they done that, maybe a lot of people would have dropped it from the get go because the other cast members were not interesting enough.

I don't get why there are so many plot twists, elimination, and them not showing the text messages. These kinds…
For the spoiler texts, I think it's because it's suppose to be anonymous and some of these texts give clear indication on who wrote them. But if they know then so should we.

But wouldn't it take some talent to write something bad but good for the simple minds ? I wonder!
But even asian dramas can be good, the good ones just don't get enough attention.. I finished The king of pigs recently and was shocked to see the number of viewers. Like, that show is a masterpiece but got 0 attention here...

lmao that show was written in one day top but they be acting like there was a lot of hard work behind it, to have so little taste...
and yeah 100%, as long as the romance part goes their way they are satisfied, it's so weird, how are you watching an hour long episode foronly 1/3 of the plot ? what a waste of time
