I now understand why the FL had to dump the ML, she kept asking him that in the worst case scenario will you stay…
That plus him never voicing his love for her no matter how many time she gave him chances to do so. Maybe had he said the words she would have allowed it to be enough considering how in love she was
I think this is the first time I give a 10 for a drama really
I never said that you rating was no legit but having only ONE drama as a ten made me think you didn't have the chance to see more good dramas and thought I could give suggestions, I guess I was wrong to offer.
i agree, maybe 2 more episodes would have been enough. like, did the doctor actually have antibodies?
It's assumed, but we don't know for sure, like Sae Bom said, if she has antibodies so do other people and since they cut to 1 year later immediatly we don't really know. We don't even know how they cured the world
The ending was soo rushed! It's not a bad one, it was just so rushed that it was weird. Didn't get the time to appreciate it because of how fast everything went. I get that the point was the lockdown but one more episode telling us how they administrated the cure on the mass population and how they tried to go back to "normal" after that would have been better than "no don't die! lasuit, little girl run, oh it's been a year".
It's a typical romcom in the end that they tried to make a bit better than your typical one with a bit of plot but once they got to the confession part, since they're already married, the love story telling was over and so was the plot, hence the rush. Too bad. I have to rate it lower than I wanted because of that.
I started watching this show after binge watching squid game in a day.Squid game was fantastic and probably one…
The point of the beach is to not be alone in a world where you have to go through death game to earn visas to live. You have food, alcohol, parties, anything that helps you forget the fucked up reality of their situation. Hatter created the beach to give hope, he invented this "escape route" through the gathering of the cards. He wanted people to not feel hopeless anymore and gathered them in a hotel so everyone can be part of a community (a bit like how in every apocaliptic movies/shows people always try to build communities to not be alone), with the same goal : gathering all the cards necessary to GET OUT. That's false though (or is it?) since he invented that. There was never any escape through the gathering of the card (at least that we know of), that's just what he told people to give them hope. That lie and that community he built put him in a position of power and he lost it. He changed. He forgot that it's all an illusion, he fed too much on the power he had, he became delusional. Aguni who was there with him since the beginning (they arrived together in this "world" and were best friend before) saw his best friend change and turn into a greedy man that started to believe his own lies (he literally killed people who didn't give in their card even though he KNOWS the cards are meaningless). The power the community gave him changed him. So when Hatter pointed a gun to Aguni, Aguni believed he was in real danger, he thought he best friend was really going to kill him, so he shot him first before understanding that Hatter's gun was empty, there were no bullet, he was never going to kill Aguni. Aguni lost his ONLY friend in this whole world, he felt helpless and wanted to avenge his friend by killing those that changed him so much that he thought he had to kill him to not die himself. His mind and hear was broken and the game master used that to compute the 10 of heart game (a game of heart, that toys with people's emotions). The game master knew Aguni would use the game to get his revenge and the more the dead, the funnier apparently for the game master. As for why Aguni was presented as rival to the Hatter, as explained, it was because the dangerous people that kill for fun needed a leader to keep them in check, and Aguni had to fulfill that role. But he couldn't openly show his friendship because then those people he tried to keep in check could look down on him for getting walked on by the hatter, hence the "rivality".
Two rules on the beach : bathing suit for all (in order to not have anyone conceal weapons) and death to traitors (that rule was added when Hatter lost in mind and killed people for cards). Once you join the beach, you can't leave or it's treason (if you wondered why they stayed). Overall they only stayed max 3 days there anyway.
As for the beach and it's ambiance, the story was written for you to not "like" the beach or to feel like the fitting in is impossible because that's how the main character felt. We follow the show through his eyes. It felt ridiculous how everyone was so loyal to the hatter because that's how arisu felt. He lives his life without law or care (dude spent his time playing video game instead of being productive), he's not about to start following the rules and command of some guy just because.
One of my main complaints with this show is how they made the characters act like they're in an anime. It's so…
I get that haha But I try to think about the hell they are in and how their behaviour at this point can change. I would never deliver that speech that way, too cringe, but I I was in their situation? who knows
honestly, this is a good show, but considering the number of korean shows out there which are far better, it's…
Yep, all the people who usually comsume western shows are overhyping it because they are discovering that other countries can do good shows and it lacks constructive criticism
It's hard to not compare it to Alice in Borderland considering how close the release dates are, so I will do the comparison because I'm sure my opinion on this drama is heavily influenced by the fact that I saw Alice. Alice worked the death game thing waaay better imo. I know the games in squid where meant to be achievable by all so that everyone is equal etc... but then, where is the fun? I just had to wait for it to end because I couldn't be part of it, the games were simple and most of the time, it was just about luck. In Alice you have 4 types of games that involve either intelligence, strength, team work or manipulation (if I recall correctly) and so each game is very unique and entertaining, it has you wondering how it will go, how does it work, how to win etc.. You just enjoy watching the games as much as you try to solve them yourself. Only the 5th game in squid was enjoyable, the rest was boring. The marble game catch was very obvious so no surprise here for me. The whole "mean rich people killing for fun" is a bit cliché for me, we've seen it times and times before, S2 will either be about exposing them or joining them I guess, again, nothing new. In Alice we know nothing at all, so we have to watch S2 to understand. I feel like not giving us any informations just like in Alice would have been better than giving us bread crumbs of informations. Then the thrill of s2 could have been about the infiltration for exemple and understanding what's going on + exposing them. One could easily take that ending as an open ending and not even watch s2. Also they overused the "sad backstory" to make us like the characters, at the end, anyone could have win and it would have been the same for me, I was not rooting for anyone in particular since they made it so that it felt like evryone deserved to win. The decor is nice but I feel like they were trying too hard to have their own "costume brand" with the red suit and the masks, a bit like la casa de papel.
Other than that, it was a good watch, I still enjoyed it, but it's overhyped imo.
I'll ignore the plot holes for it was only 16 episodes and the story and acting was so good that I don't mind them. I loved all of the leads (including Sun Ah who was an amazing antagonist to Yo han) and cherished Yo han and Ga on's bromance so much! I'll take a relationship like theirs over any romantic ones. The chemistry between the two actors was through the roof. The ending was very good but I wanted them to somehow go back to living together, Gaon is all alone now and it breaks my heart. Yohan dying would have make a really great ending but I think the writer took pity on Gaon lol + they did a great job showing us how Yo han always has a backup plan throughout the show so at least we can't say that him not dying is just plot armor. What an amazing journey, I'm so glad I gave this show a try, easily one of the best show of the year.
Also I just learned that Park Jin Young is an idol and I would never have guessed, he's such a good actor wtf!

Hope it helped :)
