You are right, only two episodes aired, anything is possible. It would be a huge progressive step for bl genre if the male spirit can truly fall in love with the king and vice versa and that the male spirit end up with the king and not the female spirit.

But it wouldn’t be her fault just because she is playing such character. In jtbc sweet munchies 2ml and kbs/sbs secret boutique 2ml, both actors didn’t get backlash or bashing for playing homosexual (maybe there’s a small number but very small cause I didn’t see articles of complaint)

They don’t have broadcasting laws that restrict homosexuality in dramas, look at eating munchies on jtbc, the 2ml is homosexual. He went after the ML but obviously failed. In kbs/sbs secret boutique drama, the 2ml was also a homosexual who had a boyfriend.

That’s a disappointment, I want to see Korea break that mold. They introduce homosexual characters in “prime time” dramas but never as the main leads.

Anyone watched it yet? Is first episode good? Promising or dud? Is the humor tongue in cheek or cheesy?

Her mom was awful and even worse in the webtoon, the brother was annoying but you like him along the way from what I recalled. Her sister was amazing and super kind to her in the webtoon too. Her dad essentially didn’t exist in the webtoon.

Kdramas generally doesn’t like female leads with intelligence. Look at nine tail fox drama, FL was refreshingly smart and intuitive, and then they made her brainless in the second-half, she was weeping so much, she can prevent droughts in the world.

I think he’s doing okay so far, but don’t expect much because his character is limited and there isn’t much to explore in his story arc unless they change it for the drama.

Haha yes, I would love to see character development especially the FL because it felt like her growth was stunted in the webtoon!

I should lower my expectations, most of the drama I was looking forward to in 2020 constantly dropped the ball and were huge disappointments.

Tbh there isn’t much story in the first place in the webtoon, it is mainly fillers as the webtoon progresses. I think this drama could end with 8 episodes or less. But I agree where you’re doing with that the drama isn’t intending to be realistic in the first place but there should be a limit but that’s hard to draw a line haha I’m still watching with an open mind :) I’m just hoping they’re not going to push the love triangle and let it take over because in the webtoon, the competition for her love was very minimal. They were generally respectful to each other.

The only thing going on for Suho in the webtoon is that he treats the FL well for the most part but seojun also treats the FL extremely well so I know who I’ll pick LOL

You’re right, it’s possible they could develop the sisters relationship more later. There’s a couple of sister moment scenes that I hope they would show in the drama that was in the webtoon that I really liked.

No she really does ends up with sml and they are in an active dating relationship. But the webtoon didn’t end, so it’s possible they can break up in the future and she may date main male lead. Main male lead and FL confessed their feelings before he left the country to be with his dad but it was only confessions and nothing more than that . So they never got to be together and then slowly FL and SML start to like each other and then officially date.

Also I dropped it and stopped reading, so idk what’s happening recently
