Okay, I agree with your Netflix points.

I disagree with your racism points. If black people see it as racism, it’s racism. It’s not for us who arent black to say it isn’t racism.

I don’t know anything about the movie you mentioned and the context. But I just looked it up...and they’re going undercover because they’re FBI agents. That’s completely different.

Thank you for your perspective! I enjoy reading it! I disagree, I don’t see sb actions as character development. True character development is when she express her honesty to him and “communicates” her thoughts and why she makes a certain decision rather than only saying I’ll tell you my decision later and etc. A strong relationship is fuel by strong communication. Every character on this drama is terrible at communicating so it’s not only SB. I agree with your sentiments on DH mom, she ultimately wants the best for her son, I just wished she could had communicated it better.

nobody in india wears anything like that on their head even while not doing yoga..that looked like a hairband…
Thanks for the information. But in my opinion, that’s clearly a turban look they’re going for. That does not look like a head band at all. They generally don’t wear that in yoga. And only that man wore it. In my perspective they’re trying to have him mimic their version of an Indian.

I don’t disagree with Netflix having airing rights, they purchased it. I don’t disagree with its importance either. I’m not sure why you are telling me info I never brought up. But it’s not an official original Netflix drama, that’s what I’m trying to say. An official original Netflix drama is like kingdom and extracurricular where Netflix 100 percent produced it and pay for it.

Racism and ignorance is blended in my opinion for South Korean. Just look at recent high school students doing black face, many netizens don’t care and downplay it.

I’m trying to say they are stereotyping Indians. Most Indians don’t wear that. It’s a bad stereotype. You can google up turbans and Indians. I never said anything about saying namaste.

I agree about nationalism. Eternal monarch is not an original Netflix drama. They brought the rights to air it. They always label any drama airing in Netflix as original Netflix drama but they didn’t provide any funding to make it. It’s just like it’s okay not to be okay and mystic pop up bar.

I agree, many Koreans don’t care about racism against other ethnic groups that much.

i am TIRED of this drama. how is it episode 15 and its this boring... once again, they are stretching out a story…
I think a huge problem is that they added way too many parodies and comedic sketches inspired from other movies and television shows that it takes away too much of the time from developing the main story. I understood most of the references from other dramas/movies but they’re not funny or interesting to me here.

also bring it on ghost.. it is also a popular kdrama internationally and seems to have done decent run in korea…
Like I said, different motives is important. One did it for love, one did it so she can leave earth. A ghost and a human is different even if she retains human emotions. Also circumstances are different. SB is in love with a man who is in a relationship. They’re both problematic but in different scales. It’s kind of like someone pinching you and punching you, they both hurt but in different levels.

Flags and buildings that resembles Japan. International viewers don’t have a problem but domestic viewers did due To bad korea-Japan history. They also apologize for the bad editing and filming styles. They even hired a new team of people to fix editing. It was a huge mess behind the scenes. And it took them 9 months to finish filming, they were behind in script writing as well. What you said is possible about BR people reacting to it late and possibly cutting scenes, we will never know. They were getting international backlash on DS character since episode 1 but they still showed that stupid we are Jamaican family scene on episode 5 and they even increased his screen presence in latter episodes. But I suppose they don’t care about international backlash.

Actually what you said is true, what her character did in the future is kind of problematic but she is a ghost. I suppose I get it that she only did it so she can regain her memories and not for romance. So in my perspective it’s not as bad but it’s still kind of bad because her purpose is different. The rules for ghost and the living is also different. I don’t remember the first two episodes that well but I think they made an agreement to allow her to live there.

I don’t think so because they were warned in advance but didn’t heed to it, “ The KCSC also said that the production team had a chance to make some changes before airing when it received conditional approval from SBS’ own review team. At the time, SBS suggested the production team delete inappropriate scenes, including those where characters use profanity.” Also the drama production group never apologized for anything unlike the eternal monarch group who apologized all the time. So it seems they don’t care. I personally think it’s just the terrible writing of the screenwriter. The writer isn’t consistent.

Episode 15 is an example of when writers run out of ideas and therefore they try to prolong a simple story by throwing in unnecessary cliches and theatrical, melodramatic antics. SB is acting like a young teenager in 6th grade. I don’t understand her this episode at all. DH father is a piece of work, his storyline is not needed and thankfully DH called his dad out for denying the existence of his own wife. Do they really need to have a korean wearing a towel or cloth on his head as a turban to semi-imitate an Indian from India during yoga? What’s wrong with the writer/director on this show? It’s good to see DH stand his ground against YJ. Honestly YJ wasn’t annoying in this episode. It looks like she’s growing in maturity. The family verbal fight felt so forced. DH mom is annoying this episode but I understand part of it is due to her insensitive, idiotic husband. But on what world are they considered poor? I want to be their definition of poverty. The ending is so infuriating! They butchered SB character development and made her go backwards. We better see a time jump on the last episode. Rating of episode 15 is 2/10. What an awful episode.

Like I said, it’s actings, I don’t care much about real age of actors, only the characters age. So I dont get the outrage with SB kissing DH because of age differences in real life but what bothered me is her kissing him without permission. That’s the real problem. Bring it on ghost, it was an accidental kiss, not a problem in my opinion even if she’s wearing a uniform.
Goblin was problematic In that sector. I don’t get why her character needs to be in highschool. That was gross.

I have no problem with age gaps at all since it’s acting. I could be wrong but the character in bring it on ghost, her character was dead for 5 years, so she’s really 21 or 22 years of age. And she died when she was a high school student hence wearing her uniform. I got lazy and horror is not my forte, I only watched the first two episodes of that drama. There were huge uproars on the age differences when they were cast. I saw the comments on the articles on dramabean at the time and online social media. So the uproar is not exclusive to this drama only. At that time I had a huge crush on the main actor because I was a fan of 2pm

I just started episode 15 but I’m already so mad at SB! Last episode cliffhanger was such a tease. I can’t believe it! She basically got what she wanted but poor DH. Her excuse is so awful. It goes against her character. I’m sorry, she’s no better than YJ being fickle-minded and can’t communicate. SB can end up alone for all that matter. No puppy and no DH for her. I want to smash a rock on my keyboard. Seriously drama screenwriter!?!

It’s still an opinion if people think it’s worth someone’s time or not and it’s up to the readers to decide to listen to the positive or negative comments. For example, if you use websites like eBay or amazon, aren’t you thankful for the positive and negative reviews? I am. It helps me form my decision to buy a product, the good and negative reviews helps influence me. It’s ultimately my decision to listen. It’s the same for the readers. Also it’s just a drama, people don’t really gain much by watching or not watching a drama.

It’s wonderful you see it in a certain way and it’s also wonderful they see it in a different way. No opinion is right or wrong in this case because it’s a drama, and a review is ultimately subjective. No one is going to see and interpret things the exact same way as someone else unless we are all perfect clones. A review is generally based on their own feelings.

“ There’s barely any romance and the comedy is just unfunny gags, parodies, skits etc repeated in every episode. It gets old and tiring fast. Side characters get the same amount of screen time as the supposed main leads together and their stories do nothing to develop their relationship and story. Remove them and nothing changes. These characters flip flop and change motivations every 5 minutes only bc the script says so.”
This is going into details about what they don’t like what the writer did in the drama, they don’t need to explain which particular scenes they don’t like. Generalization is fine in this instance.

I just reread their comment, they actually go in details what they don’t like about this drama. So it is constructive criticism. They explained what they saw as flaws.

Criticism in this case doesn’t need to be constructive. This is not a school essay or a political topic. Just read any negative movie review, they go even harder. It comes along with their job to be judged by its viewers. It’s expected to receive positive or negative feedback. It’s Normal. The user comment is not harming anyone. It may bother some people but no tangible harm.
