IMO due to her decision to went semi-hiatus (due to Uni) during her breakthrough, it really kill her momentum.…
That make sense. I've read somewhere some years ago that her family is also wealthy. AFAIK Ashida Mana also hails from similar background and is said to be even quite scholastically gifted.
She's been around for more than a decade and yet, she remains so underrated. Oh well...
She simply didn't have that head start. In fact she wasn't anywhere near elite directors' consideration till she was around early-mid 20s, while her contemporaries were all already big names for years. But all things considered, what she already achieved is still quite a feat.
I don't know if its the scripts she picks, or the scripts given to her - I just feel she's never gotten to really…
Finally someone said it. Perhaps the only role she played that was out of her usual stuffs was the tragic supporting role in asadora Carnation, and it was more than a decade ago.
Omg why does she only have two main roles properly one liar nd the other Ojogiwa no Imi wo Shire!. I want more
The reason: tough competition. btw she's just cast to lead an Asadora next year, which is kinda unsurprising since Japanese bigwigs seem to have penchant promoting actresses with her acting and physical traits.
Finally someone said it. She was *insanely* close in making it to the top, and for some reason her career seems…
Sadly it seems most of agencies in Japan don't know what to do to their talents. And most that do relatively well tend to be overstretched. Perhaps one of the reasons why many actors going independent these days after being released from their respective agencies.
It's a crime she hasn't more main roles in dramas. Wasted talent.
Finally someone said it. She was *insanely* close in making it to the top, and for some reason her career seems to be stagnated. No idea what happened to her (she appears to be scandal-free, at least from the surface), but I hope she's alright in RL.
One of the most interesting facts on her resume is that she led an asadora with one of the lowest average rating ever (Tsubasa), yet she still manages to have a pretty respectable career. Starring in a failed asadora can be quite detrimental to one's career and yet she turned thing around. Think about mental resilience and taking pride to one's craft!
