Indeed, her acting fundamentals are super solid. Perhaps almost on par with the muses like Miyazaki Aoi, Mitsushima Hikari, Ando Sakura, Kuroki Haru. Had NHK never been going nuts by only casting superstars as asadora heroines, she might already been up there. Think something like Ono Machiko's ascend to stardom after leading Carnation.
Might be one of, if not the ultimate, the most underrated actors in Japan right now.
Movie: Snow White Murder/War in the Pacific Drama: Hana Yori Dango/Ohisama/Tokkan
Sadly she isn't that active anymore in acting, which in turn might be responsible to the fact she doesn't get cast in regular basis in good shows in the recent years, relative to the elite actress in her age groups (i.e. Mitsushima Hikari, Ando Sakura, and co.).
im unsure about this drama is it good or is just a commercials for different restaurants?
Even if it counts as glorified commercials, this one is definitely a very good one (both in categories of commercial and series). Unlike other shows of its kind i.e. Kodoku no Gurume franchise, it contains real plot that revolves around its characters.
I thought it would be normal universe slice-of-life, but boy I was wrong. It's still kind of a very light-hearted (and dreamy) slice of life, but in an imaginary universe full of randomness. The randomness reminds me of Jikou Keisatsu's world in school setting but without crime and very different tone and sense of humor. Pleasantly surprised WOWOW pulls such unique and pretty experimental project like this.
One thing that is so apparent is that it's basically an open letter towards a number of problems in Japan's creative industry, namely lack of ambition and creativity as well as elitism, executed in an innovative and super engaging way. It mixes a lot of genre, namely time travel, comedy, sci-fi, and of course youth. I know this isn't the first work that combines much of the said genres, for example Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo franchise has been doing it since the 80s, but "Summer Film" presents a different and fresh perspective. The narrative is enhanced by performances of the actors, particularly the energetic and expressive (and cute-cheeked lol) Ito Marika. Heck yeah I'm now her fan thanks to this movie and 'Omimi ni Aimashita' (coincidentally with similar director to that of 'Summer Film').
A strong contender for movie of the year, which warrants a solid 9/10.
Is there a difference between this and the movie? Should I watch the movie first?
Nah, don't bother with the movie. It's a step down from the series. Moreover, the kids were already way too old to play middle schooler at the time of the filming, and it's quite apparent in the movie itself.
I am here after watching Koi wa Tsuzuku yo Doko Made mo ,I loved her .Is their any other good drama of her that…
the Chihayafuyu franchise, Lady Maiko, Hitsuji to Hagane no Mori (the one with her along side her lil sister Moka), and of course Kaidan Botan Doro 2019.
Might be one of, if not the ultimate, the most underrated actors in Japan right now.
