Sadly NHK might never sell it, despite tons of request from Japanese fans. It seems they only wanna make it as rare collectibles, which is a shame since they can just cash it in given the show does make waves in Japan.
Edit: It turns out they will sell the merchandise (T-shirt, stickers, and some other stuffs) as part of the DVD box package, which fetches around 10000 yen after tax https://www.nhk-ep.com/special/doruota/
I'd say she is one of the revelations in this year (2020) alongside the likes of Imou Haruka and Ishikawa Ruka, albeit she seems to be of far more low-profile due to the reasons I'll explain below. Compared to her peers, she is unusually versatile while still being technically decent. She can switch seamlessly from one role to another (often drastically as if these roles are played by multiple actors), for example just compare her acting as mute-deaf outcast in Terrolun Lunlun, a deliquent in Cold Case 2 (episode 8 if not mistaken, by far one of the most convincing performances of such role in recent memories despite not being important guest), as well as relative 'normies' in Alps Stand Hashi no Hou, Chuugakusei Nikki, and Zettai Seigi. She reminds me of teenage Matsuoka Mayu a lot in this aspect (heck many Japanese in social media who have seen her acting enough seems to confirm this) and yes these kind of actresses tend to be overlooked by the masses due to this very same reason that makes them good, especially in their early stage of their careers. Her acting looks a bit too raw at times especially in less-well directed shows but more experiences under decent directors should alleviate this issue because the talent is there. Mark my word, she will become the surprise of her age group (just as what Mayu does).
BTW her profile picture doesn't do her justice, someone needs to change it.
I'm pretty sure she will be become the next ueno juri. Can't wait to see her in more other dramas!!
Nope, I don't wanna see her stagnated like Ueno (tho she's now back on screen but she has a lot of things to catch up). She definitely has potentials to reach the highest level a la Mitsushima Hikari, Sakura Ando et al., although at this rate she will be rather a late bloomer.
In my books, she is a perfect example of how many Japanese actress/actors who are too good-looking (in spite of her/his skills) remain underrated. Had she is Korean or Chinese she might already be in the elite group.
She is one of the most skilled young actresses of her age group nowadays. If you read her interviews and see her instagram, you'll understand how passionate she is when it comes to acting.Although she is obviously competent actress already, few aspects in her acting need tweaks, i.e. a knowledge and timing to adjust her eccentricity (which seems to be her character in RL) on screen to improve her versatility even more. She deservedly needs to be promoted into the elite league (namely, award-worthy/dramatic feature big movies)..
Does she have theater background? There's no way she just acted at 25 and already this good. I've watched her…
According to Wikipedia and Japanese websites, she took care of her family's business in Kyushu before venturing to acting. She might possibly take some acting classes or trained with local theater troupe btw
Just started watching (now in episode 1) and I'm blown away by the performances of the youngsters in the pilot episode. Shame they are only featured in that episode, they deserve to appear more. Hopefully the adult version would be just as good.
edited: the adult version unfortunately isn't as exciting, instead it meanders all the way that it becomes too repetitive to watch.
Would you be willing to explain further about why Justin did what he did? Maybe I missed something (as I tend…
Thanks for your observation as a native Filipino. For what it is, the drama is quite well-researched for a Japanese serial. I also like Kentaro's acting in episode 3, he blows me away in the last 15 minutes. Now that I am afraid about how the screenwriter handles the ending, especially on how Kentaro's character will develop into. I really don't want to see simplicistic and unrealistic ending commonly seen in doramas.
I do find this mother-daughter relationship as a theme super interesting, but what a way to end this drama. It…
Well, it's NHK dramas acute problem - starting with a bang and tons of promise only to be tarnished by simplicistic or pacifist ending. This is particularly pervasive in their prime time slot (like Drama10). However, for what it is, the drama is still pretty good and quite watchable, for the first 6 episodes are enough to redeem the ending.
The late starter (she started her acting career in 25, which is pretty unusual in Japan) and late bloomer is great in Dakara Watashi wa Oshimashita. Expect her to be the new Yoshida Yo or Ono Machiko soon.
This show is freaking genius. I would say this is Tokusatsu Gagaga's spiritual twin done in darker tone. So far it has very riveting and believable storyline and acting, especially from the two leads. The portrayal of anxiety disorder here (from Hana) is terrific. If it ends in a high note (which sadly often absent in even WOWOW dramas, let alone NHK's), it could've been Morishita Yoshiko's best work ever.
