OMG that kiss scene! What a superb nonverbal acting, you know how hard to execute such expression. For me it's a single best action during the movie. The producers did a good job casting her to do so, she has already been known as a master nonverbalist since she was a kid (I noticed her in The Last Samurai).

And finally you give yourself to watch Suzuki Sensei, what's your thought about it?

Nope, I like the way you fleshed out what's important in your before-mentioned comment. That will enlighten those who do not understand what this movie is all about.

Yup, spot on, Pandora no Hako lacks character and story line depth IMHO. It's like the actors are forced to add their character's depth, thank god they are all good. There was a lot of chance to add more stuff to it.

Anyway, what is your favorite character in Kirishima? Mine is Mika, I like the subtle air around her, she gives a breeze to the movie. And she's not bad to look at!

Nice description, you'd better do a review!

Hey, you just watched Pandora no Hako, what's your opinion towards the movie?

Bonjour!
I started watching dramas 7-8 years ago when I was in college. Yes I joined MDL not too long ago due to my colleague's recommendation.

About Nusantara, it's a synonym to a country in South East Asia.

J-Dramas are a lot better than any Asian dramas IMHO (though I think it does decline in quality lately), no one in the continent ever do well-planned shows like Japanese does. Rarely I find Japanese dramas that going gone or going nowhere, whilst it is abundant in Korea, both China countries, Thai, etc. Amachan is good and full of surprise, the characters are likable and the script was written by Kudo Kankuro the master of comedy. You may find me romanticize but it's like listening to an long orchestral piece which has mingles of emotions in it.

Kirishima is a textbook example of love-it-or-hate-it shows. Either you like it or hate it to death LOL. I even had to watch it two times to grasp the idea and the atmosphere, and ended up liking it.

Beware, not everyone fits into Kirishima's style well, I don't know why but 90+% moviegoers and drama fans hate it (perhaps too much watching K-dramas or idol dramas/movies LOL). But if you can take slow, thespian or unique movie, I bet you can do this as well

Yuusha is my favorite comedy, especially the 1st season. I think everyone suits Yuusha's comedy style and most of drama fans I've ever talk with love it. My favorite character is Merebu, he's the ultimate mood-maker, love his useless spells it never fails to crack me up!!!

Title Miss Pilot
Actually Tezuka Haru is the only character in drama I don´t like...and it´s a writer´s mistake...sorry, but…
Exactly. You guys pinpoint what's wrong in the drama. The casting is also weak due to lack of strong, memorable characters in it. Compare it with Good Luck (I choose it because they are at the same trait) and you'll easily notice what makes such difference. Good Luck is great because of 2 things: good characterization (coupled with excellent acting) and good script that doesn't spit out everything in front of audiences. The only thing that keep me watching this show is details of aviation (I'm an airliner fan) and that's it.

I've seen him in Aku no Kyoten, Pandora no Hako, Atami no Sousakan, Family Complex and those two shows you before-mentioned.

You gotta see Tokyo Story though, it is a very subtle show though if you aren't much into slow paced shows you'd find it boring. However it's pretty much my favorite genre

About Nikaido, yup you're right, she's still new in the business, but I find her improves like crazy these days. She's catching up real fast, as like some other wonderkids. I'd recommend shows like Kirishima, Aku no Kyoten, Suzuki Sensei (the series) to see the emerging talented youngsters

I like some old movies though, mostly Western-made, but I like the original version of Tokyo Story. I agree with you, they give a nostalgic feeling that newer movies cannot give.

Someya is a really, really good actor IMHO, first noticed him in Himizu and caught my eyes with an insanely good acting for someone of his age. I watched some of his movies and I'd say he's one of the best, if not the best, youngsters out there. His only downside is he seems only playing another Sumidas (his character in Himizu) lately. He could diverse his range actually because his control over emotions are superb, so if he won't do that it'll be a waste.

My current personal favorite is Fumi Nikaido, have you ever heard about her?

Slice-of-life, comedy, thriller, musical, crime, politics, military and small bits of romance. Specializing at coming-of-age movies and dramas, coz I am fond of young up-and-coming talents (esp. teenage actors/actresses) and those whom I predicted to be really good in the future.

So do I, but I haven't watched 13 Assasins. Not really interested in samurai dramas (I prefer modern-day setting movies), but someday I'll watch it though.

Anyway, I like the description you above-mentioned, I think we share the same way to pick and analyze dramas and movies. Some have to be viewed from its emotional impact and not only from mere technical qualities

Watched the movie and I am currently watching and loving the drama. Trust me, it's not disappointing. I love when…
For more doses of realistic police JDramas, you gotta watch WOWOW's and NHK's productions like Marks no Yama (and other Goda Yuichiro Series), Suitei Yuuzai, Gaiji Keisatsu, Gonzo, etc.

One of the more realistic crime dramas out there. The investigation procedures are well-replicated, unlike shabby Jdramas at the same trait

Nice to meet you too :)
Glad you loved the review. You can grab Amachan from d-addicts or raredoramas.info, it is a very long series (156 episodes) but only 15 minutes each. Despite its length, it is not draggy, the overall show is funny and heartwarming and all the characters are likeable. I'm coming close of finishing it, so expect another review.
