Yikes. That awful drama with the old grandpa romancing a much younger woman in a headache angst. The only award…
Oh god, not you again. The couple in your profile picture have a 19 year age gap but the leads in My Dearest have a 13 year one. And it's worse because Wang Hedi was only 21 when they filmed that whereas Ahn Eun Jin was a grown woman in her thirties. How come that isn't gross but the age gap in My Dearest is? Make it make sense.
I couldn't believe it. Such random guest spots but they were a pleasant surprise!
Agree to disagree. I preferred that they attempted to be creative with including the elements of incense burning and her noticing that throughout the drama versus dramas like Kunning where they just straight up say at the beginning "this is fake." Either way though i kind of just overlook both explanations in each drama. China's regulations have ruined a lot of good dramas, ive had to learn coping mechanisms lmao
This drama is gonna be goofy as hell. Cdramas filmed back then look soooo dated now. The fashion, the sound, the lighting. And with PMY being the FL we know it's dubbed and oh man if you think dubbing is bad now, please go watch a Cdrama from 2016. Oof.

Yeah but I think it only ended that way because of censorship rules. They showed way too many random details throughout the drama and stuff that didn't have to do with the FL/she wouldn't know. It all being a dream doesn't really make sense, so I look at it the same as the modern scene in the first episode of Kunning Palace. Just a way to get past censorship in relation to time travel/rebirth.
I watched the show while it was airing and have just now four years later watched this director's cut version. It gave much needed background info, no clue why it was cut out. Just as heart wrenching as I remembered it being. Peng Xiaoran brought this character to life like no one else could. There wasn't one second where it didn't feel like Xiaofeng was a living breathing person. I have no clue why her career didn't pop off after this. She really was brilliant in this role. CXX was green and you could tell with how much he was overacting at parts, but it didn't ruin the drama and it was also just a very difficult role to play. This drama will always have a very special place in my heart. It's so different from other dramas in that it's not afraid to make its characters hurt. They all do things that are wrong and terrible and it doesn't make excuses and try to convince us that these actions are correct or morally right. God, it hurts so good. I love this drama.
In terms of production value, acting and chemistry, this seems to be one of the best historical cdrama I've seen.…
This has always been my number one issue with cdramas. I love them, I really do. But the animal abuse is horrific in their historical dramas. I'm glad this one managed to spark some outrage, because it's actually a super common practice and it's disgusting.
So I only watched the first scene of the first episode but wow. It's so intimate and romantic. I'm going to wait to continue until more episodes are out but it is very promising.
ZJY is definitely better than HYT but honestly neither of these two can carry an entire drama. HYT usually lucks out with charismatic FLs and ZJY usually has a ML who she has chemistry with and can hold their own but I've never been wildly impressed by her acting. Idk how this will work. Hopefully ZJY is able to pull through, because HYT certainly won't lmao.
Ep 11 and I'm annoyed by the ML. This day is supposed to be the most important one where he can finally prevent…
Clearly not almost zero because an accident happened on that day and another accident happened on the day of the car wreck after the first one so, if he were actually as smart and responsible as they make him out to be he would have stayed with his dad the whole day. Eungyeol decided that his ENTIRE goal being there was to stop his dad's accident. Why not make sure of it and stay with him the whole day? It's not that hard. Yeah, he'd relax and not be as on edge, but any smart person would make sure that nothing else happens.
It IS bad writing. It's inconsistent. I will never understand blind fangirls who refuse to accept any criticism. You can still enjoy the drama, but you don't have to go out of your way to make yourself look dumb and defend shitty aspects of it.
