Man watching those last two episodes was practically torture. BUT the scene with Ba Da and his mom (and the uncle scene) saved it from being a total loss for me.
I really enjoyed this until about halfway - if they just would have tightened the script and left out all the forced filler it would have been better. And maybe if the chemistry between leads didn’t feel so much like siblings to me, idk.
I don’t think I’ll ever be rewatching this one. But there were some good points. 6-7/10.
I really liked this series. HATED the male lead for the whole beginning. Like seriously hated him. He has to lose everything and change his ways 100% (he does). His character arc took the WHOLE show - but imo it was worth it. Not the typical pace for dramas, but I found that kind of refreshing. It made sense to me honestly. Very true to life.
The female lead is adorable! I love her character and growth most of all. Her tenacity and drive toward her dreams is what makes this great. And as much of a SELFISH ASS as her boss was in the beginning, as it turns out he really was toughening her up for ultimate success in a few choice circumstances - it was a kind of respect being paid that doesn’t become clear until she has to actually face the real pain of ACTUALLY climbing that ladder. Tough love to push, refine, and bring out her best skill. Though her mentor who she gets hired under later is an absolute GEM. 💎 She is the real MVP imo. I really loved the female characters in this show.
The business world is not for soft people so I appreciated this series, I feel it’s very realistic to the harshness and dog eat dog aspects that are a genuine challenge in the rat race of it all. I felt the writing did this without losing sight of the important things - or while still maintaining wholesome and grounded elements. I also feel the characters developed well by the end.
You have to be in it for the long haul with this one, but if you’re up for it - I think it’s worth it! The ending is heartwarming. 💛
there are good things about it. for me it’s definitely worth it up until about halfway. some people really have enjoyed it all the way through, but others feel the writing really lagged and got boring past certain point.
What goodness of Kyung Min? 😂 Seems he's shitty to everyone behind scenes. No matter what happened to him doesn't…
Totally agree, the sympathetic backstory was irrelevant and unnecessary to me. the guy has problems.
I honestly feel his dads death was more a result of drinking than anything to with the harsh parents. And anyway he could have said to hell with it & gone to pick up his dad - regardless of whatever that crazy mom said.
It would have made more sense for him to be resentful if there was any really threat, like he went to help his dad anyway and she made his life a living nightmare or if she even really threatened him at all … something significant. All she did was say and intense no. lol. Not saying the woman isn’t cold as ice bc she scarily lacks any hint of empathy. But he clearly could have shrugged her off if he wanted to.
Ultimately his dad shouldn’t be drinking that much in the first place. People do die from alcohol poisoning…quite often. And he was drunk to the point of overdosing on sleeping pills, which makes me go — why?? NONE of this was addressed.
If he’s gonna get all angry about anything it should be the drugs and alcohol. Instead he ends up pushing more drugs for his own financial gain. Disgusting! Or he could blame his own guilt/spinelessness for not just doing what he felt like he needed to do at a critical moment.
The fact that he became MURDEROUS toward an INNOCENT person - over a slightly pressured moment that kept him from POSSIBLY saving his dad tells you he was a psycho from the start. The guy clearly had zero morals. That or the writing is lacking.
And can we just talk about how he didn’t even bat an eye about knowing nother person was planning to be murdered!! Forget about what clinic it was at, the dude had zero remorse about what mattered - a girl was premeditatively KILLED. I don’t care if he was trying to do what he could to move it to a different clinic so as not to implicate his friend … that he already tried to murder once … that is horrifying and the guy is a total narcissist. Sure a persons career and life was ruined. But also - a woman lost her LIFE. I’m sorry but there is nothing redeemable about this guy.
they have absolutely no chemistry, feels so forced and the best parts of this show are the psychological/medical…
yes agreed the chemistry is more that of siblings to me. there were a few scenes in a few episodes where it was okay early on, but at this point I find it almost cringey.
alcohol is a depressant so the excessive drinking & black out drunkenness every single episode is beyond annoying.
not to mention just a stupid thing to do - and they do it friggin 5x per episode. lazy writing and irresponsible to endorse to such an extent. its stupid for anyone to drink like that - let alone someone who’s depressed and being medicated for it!
