I watched this and I don't even know why. It wasn't good but interesting enough to keep me going in a time where I didn't had anything better to watch. somehow I binged it and didn't have the most terrible time. but their chemistry was off, the romantic development too. how was I supposed to forget about the age gap when she kept comparing him with her late father???? the daddy issues are strong in this one. and he fell for his daughter's babysitter and he kept calling her a child. sigh.
daamn the trailer .... maybe they should call this "The Blood Ballad"... Dilraba really said I'm not getting type casted anymore!!! But I feel like dramas like these rarely have a HE
I thought I'd have SLS since I'm not the biggest fan of huge age gaps but surprisingly I do not. Lu Yan Zhi has been just too dumb and naive for my liking. Him making Xiao You chief-designer and just blindly trusting his (very sudden) romantic feelings for her without any consideration of his subordinates and the company turns me off in a way I didn't expect. who would've thought that the man of honor would be the one that doesn't solely rely on his own luck but works hard and knows the importance of experience and knowledge for a leading position.
I'll say it again: this was pretty decent, the pacing was good, the acting was nice, it was funny and interesting, not life changing but not necessarily a waste of time. it's good if you don't have anything else to watch. there were quite a few kisses, all of them very pretty. I did like that they were aware of the age gap, it wasn't a hindrance for them, but especially ML did have it in mind all the time which I liked. the romance was reasonably developed and there were no annoying characters.
Lu Yan Zhi must be quite dumb to give her the chief-designer position. "I believe in you" doesn't make up for her lack of knowledge and experience. She did get to become chief-editor assistent immediately too, but at least Lu Xing Cheng guided her and made possible for her to learn a lot in a short time. The moment Xiao You loses her good luck she'll crumble under her new position. It's also extremely unfair to all the better qualified people that now work under her.
