I find it very creepy that a lot of you ship ZQ with LX's little sister. this girl is 17. she's underage and they have an 11 year age gap. they should have nothing more going on than a substitute sibling relationship. pls stop romanticizing and apologizing what would be sexual grooming.
Muyang and Wen Xi are definitely stealing the show. from the start, their characters already had more potential for development than the lead couple combined. also, even if very quick, their relationship makes some progress. I'd even say their chemistry is better, but it could be that I forgot about the lead couple's chemistry because they couldn't have less scene together.
I honestly wonder if they're not feeling embarrassed letting him repeat the same outfits over and over again. this man is supposed to be a fashion icon influencer, a master designer ... but he has like two black shirts, of which one has the most ugliest collar, a black suit, a red suit, I think like two oversized sweaters and a pair of white sneakers. they should've had decided to only let him wear black if it was so difficult for them to extend the main leads wardrobe. at least then it wouldn't be this obvious. If I have to see that ugly red suit one more time ....
the only thing this could be saved by is if the character actually has a reason for it. like maybe in some dumb way it connects to his trauma. but so far it really just feels like as if the Chinese production team is shamefully obviously discriminating against their Taiwanese main actor.

She may have overreacted a little, but I found Zhuangbei extremely annoying. his crush on her is just as superficial as hers was on Li Xiao. She rejected him quite normally, though under shock because of her consideration for Tan Chan, but he kept on talking, asking for a chance when her rejection couldn't have been more clear. I didn't think it was rude to tell him that he made her uncomfortable (it was also quite obvious), he sought after her at her job and called her number with a stranger's phone. it would make me uncomfortable as well, and even after that he still told Ziqui that he wasn't sure if he would stop pursuing Mingyue.... what more does she have to do?
the writers really put a lot of effort into He Xi Liang but somehow forgot to give all the other characters likable traits. wanna rate this a 9 for Ryan Ding only, but the plot and characters really don't deserve it.

yeah, but now imagine JJ's side. her being his only light of life, her becoming his obsession and him even confessing that he would just be unhappily in love with her for the rest of his life if she chose someone else. feeling so much pity for someone that you feel guilty for not giving them exactly what they want is unhealthy. JJ shouldn't be the only person LX dares to open up to. also, he only shares glimpses of his burden when he is asked or forced to because he bottles everything up. LX's behaviour is very relatable, I completely understand where he's coming from but it's still a little unhealthy. he wants to claim JJ for himself to the point that he wouldn't even consider the feelings of the guy he treated as a brother for the majority of his life. I'm still rooting for LX but I also think his appointment with a therapist is long due, his whole family situation did a huge toll on him. he should be able to have a life that doesn't only concern JJ. (ZQ is the same tho)
I don't really mind age gaps when characters and actors are of age. however with every age gap I need the story line to establish a believable reason as to why those two people are right for each other. there mustn't be any kind of unmatched power dynamic, no daddy/mommy issues, no continuously calling the younger person a kid and no fetishizing of the younger person's innocence and inexperience. with all that it's almost already too hard to find one. I guess the only one that comes to mind would be A Witch's Romance. I don't remember any of those themes to be in there but I could be wrong since I don't have the best memory. I do love Goblin but it's not my favourite romance. I like it more for the yearning and the characters and relationships, the romance was fine but it didn't sit right with me that she was still a high school girl when they met and fell in love. as youthful and young goblin's character seemed to be the power dynamic was off already, not only because he is a powerful being but because Eun Tak had no parental guardians of her own, she didn't really had another choice but to seek shelter with him.

I just really like character driven stories and this is one of them. all important characters had more and maybe even conflicting dimensions to them which made them feel very realistic. the reason why the political storyline is still interesting despite the fact that seemingly the majority of viewership dislike them, is that it's still easy to understand. you can relate with the complaints and we're looking into the part of politics that's rarely focused on - closer to the people. It's mostly always about the president and co., with difficult terminology and some issues with the military and international war, a lot of people die and the corruptness takes on unimaginable measures. this is different. the romance? chef's kiss. perfect from beginning to end. you have these childhood friends that reconcile and work with each other and slowly fall in love and they stay together. they don't fail to communicate even if they have different opinions, they learn from each other and make each become a better person. the chemistry is off charts and they don't have some unnecessary break up because they support each other until the end and stay strong until the end.
