This is an insult to actual dramas that deserve 7.5 and even 8/10 ratingThis drama is a 1/10 at BEST.
Imo it's juvenile and nonsensical. I think it's suited for teen audience. It just seems like a cartoon you leave on and occasionally glance at Saturday mornings not bc you like it but bc it's background noise and helps fill the boredom. You don't have to pay attention to anything and you can still understand whats going on. There's not much of a plot.
They should have have given Hee Shik the same background story as Ryu Shi Oh. Grew up in a Yakusa or something,…
Why do you want the ML to be like Shi Oh so bad? Make it make sense. Clearly some of you would be ok with Hee Sik having that backstory instead bc he's just the perfect green flag bf who can do no wrong? LOLOLOL
SCMP review just dropped and it wont make anyone happy here. "The show also boasts one of the weakest screen villains…
Well yk what they say. One man's trash is another man's treasure. Unfortunately that reviewer and a few other reviewers opinions won't change the fact that the majority of ppl liked the villain and watched the show because of him. HE'S MOST LOVED INTERNATIONALLY! If you think they stayed for any other character think again. You would be the delusional ones (contrary to what you may say about us) trying to drum up hypothetical reasons when the facts are all there. THE DRAMA IS RUBBISH – maybe it's time to stop hating on BWS simply bc he's getting so much praise internationally and start assessing the other actors too. Bc their acting was NOT IT AT ALL.
It's funny how ya'll are so quick to say ppl only like him bc of his looks... like no his character just gave ppl a buzz and something to look forward to each week to unlike Nam Soon Hee Sik, Geum Ju and the rest of the bland main cast who did not live up to their acting potential at all. THE DRAMA IS MID AND GETTING BAD REVIEWS FOR A REASON. But again since BWS carried this show on his entire back for months ppl are judging him the hardest and blaming him for their fuck up. The Seong Woo and Yoo Mi fans always seem to find fault in Woo Seok but can't seem to find the same or worse flaws in their faves acting??? THEY WERE THE WORST COUPLE IN HISTORY, AND INDIVIDUALLY THEIR CHARACTERS SUCKED BIG TIME.
The drama and acting was so horrible all around but you people have selective memory or just refuse to admit your faves / the main couple did not do a good job?! BWS has to be the scapegoat get the brunt of it for simply existing... mind you his character died in less than 24 mins of episode 16 and ya'll still can't forget about him? I'm not surprised in the slightest!
A lot of people here are judgmental, hypocritical and BIASED. Its absolutely hilarious that even his haters can't stop talking about him. If his acting was actually so bad and his character was as insignificant as you say then why do people only talk about and remember him? Maybe because he actually stole the show and everyone was invested in his character arc whether they liked him or not and they tuned in to see what would happen to him in the end? Idk read the comments or reviews on here and see for yourself.
The worst thing that ever happened to Shi Oh was Nam Soon. She is a walking disaster / red flag and led the poor guy to his demise. He actually fell for her and somehow she managed to pull a wool over his eyes. Tbh his biggest mistake was trusting her so call him dumb all you want but all Shi Oh ever wanted in life was someone to love and care about him and not betray him. He literally let down his guard for Nam Soon and was finally interested in letting someone in and she ruined it all. Just think about the fact that had she not come to Korea / been found then Shi Oh might still be alive. All the comments directed towards him are in poor taste bc had Nam Soon been kidnapped as a child, not get taken in by such kind and loving parents in Mongolia then she could have suffered the same or a similar fate as Shi Oh.
No but just imagine if Pavel heard about her as a child and came to recruit her and drag her away (from Mongolia) against her will to be a super weapon for them (I'm getting ahead of myself but that still would have been way better than the storyline those writers came up with!) The least she and her mother could have done was have some empathy towards him / his situation but no... as someone else mentioned the mother's help and kindness is conditional. They had all the care in the world for Hwa Ja but could not care less about him. Like he was an orphan too, he had a shit life too, he was forced to do unspeakable things in order to SURVIVE TOO.
They like many of you, judge him for something that was out of his control. You judged him without even knowing him or stopping for one second to hear his side of the story. He told Nam Soon the truth but did she care? Hell no... she just thought she was playing a game / completing a mission with her stupid spy watch. They only started caring after he was dead when they started digging through his past. My point is, Shi Oh had no free will over his mind, body or actions – they all belonged to Pavel. For him it was either kill or killed / obey or be killed which just highlights the fact that villains aren't born, they are made. What would you have done if you were in his situation? Exactly.
Many want to belittle him and call him a coward for killing himself but it takes a brave person to actually pull the trigger. He rather die with pride (as dumb as it may sound to you) but it would have been worse if he was caught because before being tortured or forced to spill Pavel's secrets he would have been poisoned just like that other guy Hairtail. There’s no way they would allow him to live. There was literally nothing left for him, he rebelled against Pavel and had to make the ultimate sacrifice by taking his own life. Dying was literally his only option. TELL ME YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND HIS CHARACTER WITHOUT TELLING ME YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND HIS CHARACTER!!!
Anyway, it's clear that the MINORITY like to find fault in Shi Oh (bc he was literally written to be a flawed character) but yet you can only remain silent when asked why this drama was good. Or you have the odd comment who is here in the midst of all the hatred to or praise their faves FOR DOING THE LEAST while simultaneously shitting all over BWS / Shi Oh 😭🤭 Ironic isn't it?
I can guarantee that if any of you haters were in his shoes you would not have been able to do the villain role justice especially when given such a trashy and barbaric script to work with. Again most of the people commenting don't have a background in acting / directing so what gives them the right to keep judging the villain (who was supposed to be a secondary character in the grand scheme of things?) A lot of you were the ones who kept constantly saying the villain is unimportant, that he is support cast and not main lead so??? PLEASE MAKE IT MAKE SENSE.
Mind you Ryu Shi Oh was literally the PLOT. He was still the MOST DEVELOPED and INTERESTING character in the entire production. That is why people could sympathize with him and root for his character's redemption. Obviously the writing was lacking outside of his backstory and motives to rebel against Pavel but that isn't BWS fault, BLAME THE PRODUCTION TEAM. He did the best he could with that ludicrous script and stayed being the main reason most ppl watched this shit show. I've been saying this for months too so DON'T ACT SHOCKED!
Bit harsh, I agree Doona was a very basic role, I don't think many actors could have papered over the cracks -…
I don’t like Suzy’s acting in general so I don’t bother wasting my time watching her performances. I’ve never seen Anna but it just seemed like a drama I would not be interested in. I watched Doona though and found it to be a waste of time. Suzy doesn’t really nail the whole depressed woman thing and a lot of ppl seem to agree
Some of ya'll can crucify or speak ill of us for loving the villain but that won't change the fact that he carried the entire show on his back and made it interesting for weeks. The moment he was no longer in the show... everyone lost interest and the show became directionless and meaningless. He was given the best writing, backstory and character arc before they ruined. Mind you, he was the entire plot! Literally all the events revolved around him.
A lot of you are hypocrites bc you can forgive and feel sorry for Hwa Ja but can't do the same when it comes to Shi Oh? Idc what you people say... Nam Soon was a walking red flag and the reason for Shi Oh's demise. She will have to live with the regret or remain oblivious like she did in the last scene talking about all he needed was someone to trust and care about him???? LIKE BFFR. She knew all that and still toyed with his mind and heart. If it's not obvious Shi Oh deserved better and he just wanted to finally be released from Pavel's control. If he was so bad why did he make an antidote for the drug and why was the main purpose of the drug to make people stronger??? OBVIOUSLY HE WANTED TO SAVE OTHER ORPHANED / KIDNAPPED LITTLE BOYS LIKE HIMSELF.
The main characters had nothing to do except talk about him, starting to realize his motives and upbringing / traumatic past when he died, when everything was already said and done. Plus the real bad guy got away and Opulentia + Geum Ju and Nam Soon accomplished nothing. Make it make sense.
Suzy needs to be kicked off this project and AHJ replace her as FL.
THANK YOU! YOU SAID IT ❗️
She will be such an unlikeable FL and I can see ppl dropping this because she wont do the role justice or she will portray it just like how she did in Doona. Thanks but no thanks fr 💀
Lmao imo if actors have no talent and are unconvincing then it doesn't matter how good the script is... it will still be a trash production.
Also in terms of good actors making a bad script look good... they really can only do so much and no more bc sometimes the writing itself doesn't give them much room to stray / improvise.
Even if villain never died the show is still trash and one of the worst I've ever seen.
I have never watched love alarm but it seems I may have dodged a bullet.
