It was nice but not on the same level as the series for sure. The last scene is very beautiful and really shines. The chemistry feels a little different here, I don't know ? More intimate ? More gripping ? The main leads make a very believable couple.
It has a lot of flaws (the dubious humor....) but still it is a very enjoyable series ? If you don't take it too seriously, you'll find it is quite a nice series.
I've watched it but I end up being quite disappointed with this movie since I've heard a lot of good things about it. The problem for me was mainly the rythm of the plot (too slow), also the lack of some "subtlety" in the criticism (sometimes it's a little too obvious). It lacks something and isn't the "masterpiece" as everyone makes it out to be. A shame since it starts really well.
Cute and lovely. It's a pity though that the story is very very cliché (to the point you have no "real surprise"...) and that the characters are a little too one-dimensional . Let's hope they will bring more complexity later. Otherwise it's still enjoyable to watch.

Well, maybe it's just not your thing. Or maybe you can try later and watch more episodes when you'll be ready ? I've seen people changing their mind after watching at least 5 episodes, since it gets better and better and some scenes are just so beautiful. To be frank, I'm a little sad people cannot see what I see in this series. And I quite like the series since the beginning because I relate to Gene so much ...nowadays I cannot even watch other series...I cannot let go of this one lol But oh well, everyone is different, as they say. We won't like the same thing !

I think it's more a matter of respecting people boundaries than a problem with shipping in itself. Because people won't stop dreaming and fantasizing. It's part of human nature. A lot of people are like that and you can't blame them for that : you just need an escape because your life is difficult, stressful etc. I've also seen people trying to shame other people for shipping, wanting to stop them from doing so, basically trying to control them, police them etc. But freedom of thinking and expressing yourself in any way you want (while being respectful of course) is also a right. So I'm starting to feel really uncomfortable with the way some people react with this matter (I've seen some calling "shippers" "disgusting" etc. It's starting to look like a witch hunt there)... Not saying you're doing that but just a thought I have while reading your comment about ship stan culture. The answer and the critical response to ship stan culture can also be quite problematic and ironically...toxic...as I've seen some anti-shipping comments being nothing more than homophobic answers...So I'm really starting to question all of this and the motives of some people behind this criticism (again I am not saying it is your case). I think the answer to this matter is not so easy and need to be qualified.
The last episode was so beautiful and emotional ! I love it so so much. And I'll miss this great series ! I hope we'll see more projects from the same crew because they are talented ! There is something in the series this director makes which just pulls you in...I am impatiently waiting for what he can bring in the future for sure ! And I hope we'll see the main leads in another project from the same director too ! Great team and one of the best BL series I've seen because it has a heart and a soul ! It doesn't feel cold and emotionless. It has a message and it has subtlety, many layers. There is a level of humanity in every character, even the "bad" ones. Fantastic work ! Even with the "flaws", I consider it to be quite an amazing and refreshing series. And the soundtrack is also so good and beautiful too. I love it a lot...It'll be difficult to move on from this one T_T

I don't think it is a matter of different POVs but of being fair, otherwise it is too easy. The problem is that it is an opinion and not a fact. An opinion can be wrong, biaised, well it is flawed...Those who are the first to criticize everything should be able to accept the idea that their comments can be criticized too ? It is not even a matter of liking or not liking the series ! However the double standards...
But if I want to be really coherent, If you want better series in the future, try to bring feedback instead of criticism, IF you had some expertise in the area of film-making (which is not the case for a lot of people here lol). Criticism was never constructive anyways...it only devalues the work you've done and the people who've worked for it...Feedback is constructive because it is positive and try to bring solution...It is so easy to always point at what is wrong..but it is a lot MORE difficult to say how you would have done things and bring encouragement...
That's the main problem I have with comments who tend to criticize...The people doing this are not even aware of it....and when they are criticized, the don't feel good...Of course !
