I think they call it hot and sexy because they don't see it as a rape and that Porsche was "active". But we know…
I find the scene well filmed too. But I despise Kinn for his selfishness since he isn't really bothered that his bodyguard was just kidnapped and almost sexually assaulted by Vegas, before having sex with Porsche right away, jumping on an opportunity caused by the drug. This is low-class mafia style lol. He has no consideration for Porsche situation and feelings, as expected. So I don't think Porsche will react well, logically.
kinda hesitating to watch this because of the rape scene because people are calling the scene "hot" and "sexy"
I think they call it hot and sexy because they don't see it as a rape and that Porsche was "active". But we know that Kinn is not really a gentleman even if he hesitates at the beginning. He's clearly taking advantage : he has something offered to him, he takes it. He won't wait Porsche starting to make his mind about his attraction. Kinn deserves a punch lol. Anyways, he's in the mafia...they are not known for being kind.
In answer to some of the points of "that" comment below.
* I think when you fetishize the other, you only see them as an object and not a human being. That's why it's a problem : the dehumanisation. But it is weird that some people are only linking this "process" to your sexual orientation...So I guess in their mind that people who happen to be gay cannot at all fetishize other gay people too ? or that because they are gay, they are free of criticism ? Gay abuser exist. And being gay does not make them less "abuser". Think about their gay victims too...
* But let's stop the bullshit (hypocrisy) with fetishization. Because it is also often (but not every time of course) the ugly word used for shaming women and their desires. And yes, women have as much desire as men. There is nothing wrong with having desire. Because every human being has desire, fantasies, etc. Denying this is similar to the same process of seeing people as objects. You're dehumanizing people just because they have desire.
* Mafia men = queer than people will see queer people as criminals...But the problem is the people making that generalization ? Not the series in itself. Because those people can also think that queers = bodyguards, wear suits, handsome, live in Thailand, drink pink milks. But they chose to see them in a negative light...Of course a generalization is still a preconceived idea : thinking that gay men are often artists is not reflecting a more complex reality for sure. However, it is still less harmful than thinking that all gay men are pedophiles. You cannot control people minds : they believe what they want to believe, what is easier to think and let their animalistic fear dominate their minds.
When I see people complaining about the content in the drama, I can only shake my head. This is a mafia drama.…
"I understand that the drug part triggers many, but I find it amazing that these people judge the drug part, but take the beating of the old man and the deadly shootout in the prelast episode for granted, because this is a mafia drama. I can't really understand that. "
I was thinking the same thing. We are so used to this in movies (killing, violence and fighting, even throwing punches...a punch can kill), that people forget how this is also not a common act...This kind of violence is not at all trivial too.
The actor playing Vegas also surprises me. Very good acting ! He's terrifying, dangerous, insane but at the same time charismatic ! He clearly brings the tension in the series.
People should just be here to watch the series in fact. And that's also the problem with fans trying to glorify actors too or seeing them as "perfect".... You'll always end up disappointed...
Also is it me but the situation with Mile reminds me a little about what happens to Bright with the success of 2Gether ? He has a lot of "bad" things said about him and you could see how it affects him mentally in the end.... So, if I was a fan, I'll be cautious too with what I find/read on social media, because it is also so easy to create rumors, distort the truth and end up cyber-bullying a celebrity (as usual)...
I hope the idealistic people in this comment section know that there is more domestic violence in LGBTQ relationships…
I think another reason would be also because the victims of abuse in LGBTQ relationships would less likely see the police than people in heterosexual relationships or talk about it with their family, friends etc. because of the "stigma" of being gay in society in general (even if it's still difficult for a victim to do this in any case). So the abuser knows this and can feel like they can do everything they want, almost without fear of being sued, etc. People complain about some BLs and their "dark" portrayal of couples (with the issue of consent, etc.) but those BLs are in a way showing that this reality exists (and that it is still a taboo)...
I'm only watching this for Syn and Nuer. I hope both actors will have a series as a main couple. The other couples are not that interesting to me, unfortunately, so I skip a lot of scenes of this series...
In fact I realize that everything is just a matter of perspective. Pete's first appearance is a proof of that. You can say he is half-clothed but you can also say he is half-naked. Of course in my case I only see the shirt.
- Ep.2 was so entertaining and fun. And now we have to wait two weeks T_T
- Also Vegas was introduced, the mister with the dangerous aura you know you shouldn't mingle with but cannot help doing it. If fire is pretty to look at, it still can hurt and be lethal for you (poetic comparison lol).
- I didn't like that much the "eccentric" son and wants to smash his head several times. Fortunately I restrain myself otherwise I would be six feet under by now. I also still think that one of those carps should have bitten one of those mafia fingers too just to prove the little fish was still very alive (stupid human). Yes, Queen Elizabeth, please, do something because the prodigal son's voice is just so irritating =_= (stupid human, again)
Ok. I think we just need more fighting in this comment section. Here is my contribution. I'm very disappointed by the actors of the series, especially Apo and Mile. Gosh. They are so lazy. I mean is it that difficult to button up your shirts ? -sigh-
The character I have the most problem with is now surprisingly...Tofu though. Even if he is cute and likeable, he is, in my eyes, "invisible" as a being : because he is still a "Teddy Bear" in his mind, a "tool/toy" which only aims at giving comfort. I hope that the scenario will be smart enough to develop really the love story when the "teddy bear" will start to have an individuality, a more obvious personality : he will be no longer " that means of comfort" but a being who has come to life and who will have his own emotions and feelings. It is not only Nut who needs a character growth but also Tofu.
Ep.4 was very emotional. There is depth in the story. You cannot really "hate" a character but most likely you'll feel pity. You may not approve the actions of some characters but you can understand them. The complexity is really what makes this series interesting.
