Oh you write poetry , that's great ! Have you tried writing novels too ?
Also concerning what you say, well I'm not sure. But I don't think it is easy to self-publish. You'll be responsible for everything, even pay someone to make your own marketing, do the editing yourself, design your cover etc. Also with self-publishing, you're not so "free", but more likely dependent on the platform where you self-publish (like Amazon...). You have to pay for everything and have a lot of time to do everything around the book (and not only writing). It can be very stressful I guess. That's why some publishers are even interested when you self-publish....They spent less money on you....I don't know how it is in Thailand, but I don't think it is that easy here too. Otherwise, we'll already know if self publishing was the easy way to make a living. But anyways, being a writer is already difficult so...usually you can't live only from that unfortunately.
things i really want to know in the coming episodes:will gene actually publish the....... autobiography he is…
it is not easy to self-publish even if you are not poor. So you still need a publisher. I still think he needs to make a living. His family may be well-off but he needs to do something with his life and be self-sufficient, "free" from his family (I'm looking especially at his father...). He uses to write fantasy novels and he just happens to write one BL novel which gives him fame. Sometimes, when you have fame with something you didn't expect, you can be caught by the success, I guess ? He's trapped. Also a writer wants to be read. So his ambition may not be completely towards money (but he still needs it I think) but to be read and known ? His BL novel gives him an audience, so it might be interesting for his next novels. I think it's more the dilemna of success and fame rather than money (even if it's still important). Also, he has a contract with his publisher, etc. So I don't think it is that easy.
For the memory thing, I understand Gene because I'm the same lol I have very bad memory...So yes, it seems plausible to me he can forget Tum. He seems also like someone who's in his little world, hardly noticing people around him.
But those thought are just what I suppose. I'm not sure.
I'm at ep.22 and it's still very entertaining and interesting ! I don't want to watch too quickly....since everything is not released on youtube...I really love the complexity of the characters and the fact they are not "heroes". The fight scene in ep 22 was really really great !
Just a thought. I think also one of the reasons Nubsib didn't reveal right away his identity is because they parted in a bad way during their childhood days. After all, Nubsib didn't come to say goodbye to Gene, so that's why I think he was afraid to tell right away he was his childhood friend. He doesn't want Gene to "hate" him right away (or so he thought). It can also explain why he was acting like that too, I think (not only the "I don't want you to see me only as a "brother" or "a close friend").
I stopped commenting after ep 4 coz people here are weird. I read comments here belittling Gene's emotional outburst…
I'm an introvert too. And those people are so narrow-minded and so arrogant in their views (like Gene's dad)...I was also almost tempted to stop commenting here too but I felt it was not right to only see those kind of comments here, especially for a series which is highly enjoyable. Not perfect for sure but still one of the best "BL" series this year, because it just feels different from what you usually see (especially in mainstream media).
I'm again baffled by some of the comments seeing their past as kids as "weird". I find this reaction more weird than the supposed "weird" past between the two. Guys, you have such...an interesting mind...Please, why would you imagine more, tell me ? Why would you thought this closeness is already something "suspicious" ? That remembering your childhood memories (because you were childhood friends) as something "odd" ? And showing the link between the past towards the present as something "forbidden" because the present is between lovers ? That doesn't erase the past nor your childhood memories...
I'm still watching it ! I'm at ep. 19 now. I like it a lot. But I'm watching it on youtube, so I need to wait for new episodes to come. The difficult part is to avoid the spoilers....=_=
And you can't generalize. Also you don't seem to understand what I'm trying to say by "odd". It was not about economy...but your justification about why you're not watching series which are "bromance". But I'll stop there since it doesn't matter anyways. It was just a thought...nothing more...It is not THAT important.
As for feeling rejected yet exploited.... I can understand... since a lot of people are like that on earth. And it won't stop anytime soon. Defending human rights of course is a valuable (and very difficult) fight.
...But, in that (anecdotal) case of BL, I'm not sure people like it when someone belittles them for enjoying a series and/or having a hobby. So they will continue to watch their BL shows, won't care...and will be deaf to your voice.
That is if you really want to find true allies...but I'm not sure it's the good way to do it...
In the case of China, Addicted was a BL and it was making a lot of money I think. So....it doesn't prevent the censorphip. So the "If BLs make more money than bromances, people will make BLs instead of bromances" doesn't work in this case. But well, not saying you should watch Word of honor, etc. After all, you do what you want to do. I find the justification for this attitude odd that's all.
Ah I don't think you're the minority lol Don't worry. And even if it was the case, it's still a matter of what…
Yes, unfortunately. Thats why criticisms should always be taken with a grain of salt. You never know the true reason behind : is it sincere or.... People disliking Kao new "ship" and wanting to punish him, some viewers not liking the BL "shade", viewers feeling "threatened" by this series and thinking everything is a competition (who's the best couple, the best series, etc.), people not appreciating the irony of the series and making them pay for it, people with a very dogmatic (almost narrow-minded) view on how a series should be etc.
I'm sorry but I truly don't understand this attitude. How can you fight against censorship by self-censoring yourself shows with a heavy homoerotic subtext ? It makes no sense. Addicted heroin was quite popular and it didn't stop them censoring BL....And if you don't watch those kind of shows, they will just disappear because of a lack of audience...Will it make censorship go away ? No. I'd even say it is helping the official censorship since you will contribute to definitely erase any show with a remote "BL/strong bromance" subtext.
