***Warning: this is long and may contain minor spoilers of ep. 2***Ok so I have a few thoughts and I’m gonna…
Just a thought ! Gene is not clear too though. He is also in a way "using" Nubsib to have inspiration for his new novel (unconciously). I'd say they both "manipulate (?)" each other. What's real or unreal etc. Gene is also quite introverted and doesn't want to watch more closely what is his sexuality. He's afraid of himself and of his true desire. Dreaming and writing a fantasy is ok but when it becomes reality....
The acting on the script is maybe the occasion for both to test the waters ? For Nubsib to see if the very introverted Gene is interested in him and for Gene to confront unconciously a part of himself under the pretext of writing his new novel perhaps ?
The kiss scene was genius. Great idea to mix Gene's narration with the kiss. You can already feel that naive Gene will face a harsh reality and I'm already hurting for him...
I absolutely love the new episode ! So cute and funny :)))))) - and the scene with the kiss is amazingly beautiful and serious ! You can already feel that the downfall will hurt a lot...Great beginning for the series.
Last Wednesday after the premier this place was bloodbath. Someone even wrote a review giving the series a "2".…
I think some people also didn't catch that a large part of this episode was quite "ironic" and take everything literally....
I've seen someone complaining about the numerous times the characters "go to the toilets"....and says it was "laziness"....
But the repetition of this is clearly voluntary...Because : - It's a part of the comedy (repetition of something ludicrous and ridiculous).... - It can also be considered as a "shade" : they are poking fun at some "easy" and "nonsensical" plots you can find in some series.
I've read this position a few times (from different people) and, while I can't discredit it, I would say that…
I'm not really a fan too of the heavy-handed comedy (but it is still toned down compared to what I've seen in other shows), however the irony/ambiguity is definitely something I like in this show (with the cutting tone of some replies).
However it is still a romcom...so you'll have romance parts too soon. I think people expecting a complete BL parody will be also disappointed....
Hmmm I liked the first episode ... but those sound effects annoyed me. There were just to many of them . So at…
yes, the sounds effects were also annoying at first but now it's my third time watching the show and I get used to it lol Let's hope they will tone it down in the next episode...and they will, considering you'll have more "serious" moments :)
Nothing. Just a bunch of some hypocrit (and toxic) people (but not all of course) judging so hard a series when…
Yes, and it is quite smart and deep (with many layers)...That's why it already feels like a good series (let's hope if it will be still the case until the end)
Just for that, I think the first episode is quite interesting...not saying it is perfect but at least refreshing and interesting... But really I don't understand at all some of those comments...It's like they're watching another show ?!
Also the side characters are really great ! Tiffy seems amazing ! I love her ! And Hin is so adorable !
But frankly speaking, I'm not surprised we'll still have university/school background and cliche/weak plots in "BL" just by seeing those kind of reactions in the comment section...
Up was forced to withdraw from an event with Kao because of fans? I'm curious: how did they do that?
As usual, some childish fans (but not all of course) with their "cyberbullying"....So he withdraws from the event and even apologizes....If you want to know more, I'll let you search...because I don't want to waste my time with this lol
I am completely oblivious to whats going on in comments section, whats the fuss is about, please explain.
Nothing. Just a bunch of some hypocrit (and toxic) people (but not all of course) judging so hard a series when it's only the first episode...at least they can wait a little...Personally, I've seen way worse.... It's getting ridiculous....
This series for sure won't please everyone...Expect some harsh and nitpicking comments here... - some BL fans won't appreciate the shade against them (and their fantasies) - some fans of TT and Mame's work won't appreciate the shade - some KaoEarth fans won't appreciate the new "ship" (as they have already forced Up to withdraw from an event with Kao) - the "true woke" viewers will scream "hypocrisy" about the series and call it "fake woke" - the extremely elitist viewers (with a competitive mindset) will say some other series have set the bar high and will criticize everything... And the list is going on....
But if you're just a casual viewer, you'll just watch and make your own mind....If you like it, that's ok. if you don't like it, well, you'll simply drop the show and watch another series without making an essay here.
It is even more laughable considering those criticism I'm sure come from (international) viewers who have watched the show illegally....If you have watched legally, well, good for you....At least you have the decency to criticize while supporting the work of the artist(s).
I relate to Gene sooo much, with his writer's block, introverted personality...Maybe one of the reason I already like the series a lot ! Also I notice something funny. When he was meeting his publisher at the beginning, the background screen of her monitor keeps changing between the shots lol
