HaRa reminds me of GiChan in Queens House. They both have fits and aggressively throw everything off their desk…
Gi-Chan was at least more complex and layered... Hae-Ra has no personality and her character is flat as a table!

If it weren't for you I would've never restarted this drama. I'm on episode 13 and I am hooked!
I might watch that someday as well.

I agree! Wow, so Lee Yo-Won married kinda young if she has teenage kids! As for Go Hyun-Jung, wasn't her divorce around the time of the drama "Return"? (Which led to her leaving mid-way and getting replaced, if I remember?) Good for her, honestly. Good for her, lol.

Side note: Finished Empire of Gold and I absolutely loved it! Fantastic, underrated drama, truly.

Wanted to say the same thing- it might all be Mi Ran's plan and maybe she was trying to get rid of Jeong Seon.…
I would assume he's just the CEO (since CEOs usually lead a company anyway, while the chairperson is in charge of the board.)

Not quite complex: Chung-Ma is a conglomerate, so both the scholarship foundation (philanthropy, I'll assume) and fashion are just 2 branches of it.

If my prediction about Ba-Reum ends up being correct, I swear... because after THAT ending for ep 6... ๐Ÿ’€

I don't know? The subtitles say "Chairman", but the setting/his office (and even the office & nameplate) say "CEO".

The Foundation is one of the biggest shareholders in the company, just like Chung-Ma Fashion (and whatever branches there are.) Maybe that's why she thought it'd help her?

Jung-Sun is the Chairman of the Scholarship Foundation, not the whole company. Young-Hun is the CEO of Chung-Ma Group as a whole.

not sure why is there a need to broadcast season 2 almost 1 year later, can't even remember the plot already
Disney+ made the writer split it up into 2 seasons from 12 episodes. You can watch the first 6 over time or read recaps to catch up.

Mi Ran isn't doing it for me. She's too flat and one dimensional. Her and Hae Ra have zero mother daughter chemistry…
I like Mi-Ran way more than Hae-Ra, that's for sure. Also, I'm pretty sure her and Hae-Ra having no warmth is intentional... Mi-Ran cares about nothing but power/her ambitions.

There are dramas with villain protagonists! This is one of them. Like Secrets and Lies, Anna, Queen of Ambition,…
Shin Hwa-Kyung? I loved her too! Oh Seung-Ah got an award for her performance, she did a great job playing her.

Why Jang Seo Hee is listed as a protagonist, while she is the villain in the drama? She acts as if she is entitled…
There are dramas with villain protagonists! This is one of them. Like Secrets and Lies, Anna, Queen of Ambition, etc... or, for non-dramas, Breaking Bad, Death Note, Code Geass and Attack On Titan.

imo it started stronger than the last drama in this time slot (pearl in red). I don't see myself dropping it ...…
Sadly ๐Ÿ˜” just gotta enjoy as entertainment and that's that. It's what I do.

Hey I'm on the Soompi discord too! Yeah, that's a WILD statement. Borderline racist, honestly. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ And as someone with African parents & relatives, I find that SO disgusting to say at this point in the 21st century... y'all couldn't Google/Naver shit? ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Unfortunately true ๐Ÿ’€

The Indian subplot in "Meant To Be" made me cringe too! I'm not a fan of AI in the creative fields. (Weird, isn't the FL an artist?! ๐Ÿคจ) That being said, I *have* watched some family dramas, mostly weekend dramas. Perhaps I like the weekend ones over the daily ones.

Maybe I'm mixing it up with another drama then! Either way, in 2026, I'd expect more general knowledge about Africa (as a CONTINENT, not a country lmaoooo) in media. But I'm asking for too much here. ๐Ÿ˜‚ I do know about the FL being an artist though.

Yes, but very slow. story good so far after 7.
Ahhh okay. That makes sense, these daily dramas do tend to be formulaic (most of the time...) with some twists to it!

I'm confused, how are you watching if you skipped the first 6 episodes? Wouldn't you miss important details? ๐Ÿค” I actually think it's slowed down a little compared to the first week.

Why is kdrama either 12 eps or +100? None in between
There are many, MANY k-dramas that are 6-8, 16, 20, or 50 episodes. (Mostly weekend dramas are 50 episodes, though this does depend.)
