Or just move on, this is not who you are, it's just a fun thing to do during your spare time, this doesn't define…
I agree my free time is way too precious to force myself to watch something I’m not really into. I do think someone can take a real break from dramas and try this list when they have a genuine interest in trying again. I struggled with years long drama slump and finally accepted that I’m no longer a regular drama watcher and that’s perfectly fine. I watch dramas hear and there when I’m in the mood but I’m not forcing it anymore.
I have mixed feelings concerning their portrayal of suicide and depression but coming from a country with such…
But young Koreans are feeling more and more hopeless BECAUSE of how their society is setup to run, so the message is even more condescending if that’s taken into account. It’s like making a challenge almost impossible for most participants to succeed in and scolding the participants for not trying hard enough.

As an action/thriller drama, this was really great. However, the message they tried to show was not well done…
Same here…there are people who would choose to jump off the ledge everytime after thinking of their loved ones, even after things technically got better in their lives. It’s just something off with their brain wiring that fully understanding how previous life and relationships are, that things will probably get better might not overcome their suicidal thought. That’s just one aspect of why it’s off to me…
I agree with people that he isn't good-looking. He has a very similar look to like... Choi Min Ho, or Rowoon.…
lmao just what?? I know people have different standards but hearing someone say having a broad large face is automatically unattractive...thick neck and prominent adam's apple on a grown, mature MAN is unattractive now for some of you...let me guess, you're really big into kpop.
just a heads up, 5th episode is pretty gory. Kim Jae Wook casting is genuis, he's a beautiful man. also I haven't watched Kim Ji Hoon in much since Stars Falling from The Sky years ago and I AM SHOOK!!! He's still hot but goodness, his whole vibe has changed to the point he fits the psycho role so well, I mean down to his micro expressions. I'm impressed, the man absolutely did not want to be pigeon holed as a pretty male lead (although now he might get pigeon holed as a villain but I have a feeling these roles are more fun for him to play anyway).
I just have to say, HOLY MOLY Soon Seung Hoon looks insane in this movie, from head to toe and yes you see all of it. the main is literally glowing, seriously he's 10/10 FINE in this.
I'm not watching either drama (i'm not watching any kdramas right now tbh) but it's really good to see dramas from completely different genres are doing well in ratings.
Concentrating on viewership … just take famous stars for views... however the script is not that good.. Kdramas…
Honestly, I don't even mind cliches, I actually find them comforting when they are coupled with charming characters (and supporting characters). I watch tv shows to be entertained, I'm not looking for prestigious shows with impeccable writing and directing as a must, I just want to be entertained and feel like I have enjoyed my precious free time I spent watching something. Alot of kdramas these days don't even do that for me anymore, I find myself bored by the middle of the first episode or I'm bored by the halfway point. This has always been an issue with kdramas but it's become worse and worse over the years.
Take for example, my teen & tween nieces discovered kdramas about 2 years ago, within a year or so, I'd ask them what they were watching and they told me they get bored with kdramas and have not finished any. Now, they exclusively watch chinese dramas (when it comes to asian tv) and they get so into them and have no problems finishing them. They found them on their own on Netflix. I have not been able to get into chinese dramas all these years so I can't compare but I know alot of kdrama watchers also watch chinese dramas now, some have even switched completely.
I'm glad I took the time years ago to catalogue the dramas I watched (but didn't finish) or wanted to watch over many years of watching kdramas. I'm slowly working through my lists and basically only watching older kdramas with a few exceptions here and there. I'm also glad to be free of that self-inflicted pressure of watching or at least checking out currently airing dramas.
Dont like all new shows unless become number 1 just after release, unless its some real crap.
Uh no and how would that even make sense with the number of shows Netflix releases. It’s less surprising that a more gritty Korean drama makes Netflix Top 10 around the world anyway.
when it’s gonna release worldwide,as time going at some point of time people will wait for streaming platform…
That’s not true at all, native Korean movies do really well in Korea when they have popular casts, franchise or good word of mouth which is typical in an active movie market. Even when that’s not the case, they still have Koreans watching. Koreans come out for extremely popular IP (intellectual property) like Mario or Marvel (well for the good ones now or when it was at its peak) like the REST of the world does now. Mario was #1 at the box office in many countries when it came out because the brand and character is so well known and loved. Honestly Koreans are more supportive of their own movies than moviegoers in many other countries, even in European countries. There are a lot of movie markets that are dominated by Hollywood movies year round because they don’t have sizeable or strong local film industry that is supported by locals like India or Korea.
Even Korea’s disaster, horror, and thriller movies almost always have so much heart and a distinct human element, it’s really quite impressive. I can’t wait to check this out. I’ve missed PSJ, looking forward to the rest of his movies and dramas coming out
Dropped because I just can't get used to the idea of a human falling in love with a robot. Even though we know…
My theory is that with the insane rise in integration of AI with technology many of us use heavily that is currently happening, we’ll be seeing that this is VERY possible with quite alot of people who are emotionally vulnerable. Especially with the documented rise of loneliness in a lot of first world countries (also coupled with decreasing birth rates in a number of “first” world countries).
I came across this drama on a popular tv show/movie recap channel on YouTube and both parts have over a million views. it’s getting so much love in the comments especially from people who went on to watch the whole drama and it makes me so happy. Quite Alot of the viewers aren’t regular kdrama watchers either. I remember when it was airing and it got low ratings in Korea and so many Korean netizens and even some international kdrama watchers were bashing it when it first started. I know YSH and the whole cast and production were very discouraged but it eventually got alot of love from international viewers and gladly he and everyone working on the show were able to find out. They were able to know that it touched many people’s hearts. I guess it’s still a sort of underdog drama for me because of the reception it got when it aired so I’m so happy it’s still getting so much love years after airing.
There is, most of the comments about the male actors aren’t creepily sexualizing a certain part of the actor’s or describing how attractive they find a part of their body. The women that do that to men are creepy in those types of comments too. It’s not about thinking a woman is hot, there are lots of men and women who think CSB is gorgeous and that are attracted to her but it’s your particular comment. But yeah, let’s try to make it all about “wh@t iF the genDeRs w3rE fliPpEd AMIRITE?!”
