Absolutely! If actors wanna do fan service, be my guest, but I can only hope none of them are being forced by their agencies/production teams. That'd make me feel very guilty. I personally like in BL drama that the actors tend to act in pairs and stick together thru multiple series, besides it being a marketing technique. I know people have very different opinions on this though haha, either way is fine regardless.
I only started to watch BL drama series a month or two ago so I think that should also count as relatively new? Not new to BL as a whole tho. One thing about series with NC content or just ones with serious topics (like Only Friends) is that so often fans are the ones who ruin it, because they have such strong feelings. And then word about complaints gets to actors, directors, writers.... sigh. It's just fiction, people need to chill tf out. That's my only fear with series like these—the extremist "fans".
I hope this series will be good so so so badly, because then it might encourage more directors to step out of the set comfort zone of the industry. But maybe that'll happen regardless of whether the plot is good or bad. The fact that they've made something like this gives me hope!

Maybe my feeds aren't course correcting but no matter the social media, the lack of engagement with the series seems low. It's unfair to compare IFYLITA to OF, but I believe this show deserves the same amount of comments—just full of praise instead haha.
Also in general I just wish people watched the uncut version instead of the cut one 😩
