Exactly, that's what happened here! I just realized it and now I understand why I was feeling like I was watching three badly connected and badly written different shows the whole time. Writer surely thought the viewers dumb.
What a badly written and incoherent mess and thank you for summarizing that.
I also got annoyed by continuous and idiotic misunderstandings and idiotic character decisions again and again and again. Its like you purposely are trying to extend the plot because you can't think of what to do more in the story. Looked petty and dumb tbh.
Li Susu isn't a romantic FL, I grant you that. At the beginning, she was only ever focused on her mission to kill…
I can totally understand her motivations in start but later on it becomes annoying that her thought process is still the same. After spending so much time together, going through life and death situations together, knowing his history, knowing his motivations shouldn't she change her initial assessment about him now? I'm not asking her to love him back, I'm just asking her to treat him as a human atleast. What I see again and again is her keeping silent is actually creating more problems rather than solving them.
TBH, right now I think that TTJ would have been better off having a different lover from a much simpler background.
I can understand tho, I even felt that way in the earlier episodes too. I'm like girl please get him and don't…
I didn't mind her character in first half, tbh I liked her rather. Her motivations were quite correct and understandable. I actually started hating on her at about the mid part of the show. I mean, like, you have been together with this person for so long and you still think the same? This hate for her further increased after seeing her indifference in immortal realm. The situation is not the same anymore, please just talk, communicate, why do you need to hide everything still?
I can't help but think that this whole devil situation could have been averted if only ML found someone other than FL who loved, understood and supported him throughout. He always felt like the guy left alone and always misunderstood in this crisis.
Yes I didn't really like LSS at first cos she was always out to get TTJ. π π He had a hard life largely due…
TTJ atleast can be sympathized with because he literally knew nothing until he was faced with the events themselves in immortal realm. LSS, on the other hand, went total terminator on the guy without ever giving him a chance or telling him anything at all. Yes you're evil, you were evil, you will remain evil and you will be dealt like an evil always. She caused a truckload of long lasting misunderstandings and miscommunications. This was understandable in first part but after knowing him for so long you still think same? Don't you grow as a character or learn from your mistakes? I'm just thankful that redemption comes.
Does not matter how you rate it as antis will make sure the rating is low lol. As in, dw about how you would rate…
Doesn't deserve a bad rating tbh, production, acting, ost, vfx, everything is top notch. Only problem I have is with characterization and that too with only one or two characters.
FL is an absolute nightmare in this show. One sided actions, one sided decisions, no communication and idiotic too on top of that. She literally played with ML's feeling again and again and again just because of her self created stupidly idealistic notions and preconceptions.
I am just afraid my rating for this amazing show will badly suffer because how continuously annoying and frustrating FL is.
Wow! the acting chops on this is next-level. I have seen lots of Chinese reblican era type shows...but this one…
Its hard to find this level of scripting but I can recommend some for similar high intensity chemistry between main leads. Here's a few from top of my head,
My Lethal Man: Totally different storyline, its a modern business focused drama. But main leads chemistry kept me hooked and wanting for more. I'm still halfway through though.
Lost Romance: Again different storyline and different theme too, this one's a comedy. The first few episodes are a bore, on top of that. But when it kicks off it kicks off good and their chemistry when they are together is off the charts.
I actually found the romance to be quite good. Skinship might be a bit less but their relationship dynamics and character growth were really well done.
I see you liked King Eternal Monarch. Dive in you will like this too.
"A dating B who is connected to C who dates D who is the ex of A who reconnects with D who disappears and E dates H and marries with I the father of B who likes and hate C who cares for J the son of E who is D who used to cheat with A"
^ This thing you did right here, Thank you! for that.
Plot is a mess. Characterization is a mess. Production is a mess. OST, forgetful. Acting, average at best Character Development, zero.
On top of that, characters themselves are unlikable. FL is a fickle and shallow two timer who lacks any capacity to form any sort of romantic relationship. She lack both the dedication or maturity required for a proper relationship. ML is an immature and judgemental character totally incapable of changing FL's much flawed nature. So, there goes any chance for proper romance. Rest of the characters, forgetful to say the least.
The story in itself is just excessive amounts of infidelity, cheating, love triangles, two timing, sleeping around and whatnots done in a very poor manner which is neither realistic nor sensible.
Need I say more?
Don't know what people watch this or what people making this wanted to do. 1/10
Really boring tbh, nothing's happening and bad acting too. I'm surprised with such short runtime it still managed to feel draggy. Dropped at 4th episode, 5/10

I still do think that no matter how cruel in future, his past self doesn't bear guilt for that.
