Depression effects all - no matter if you are poor or rich, popular or not…I applaud her courage to speak up and take a stand. Take everything one day at a time and self love is very important.
that 0.5 is because they let SFL die at last episode which is unnecessary. Also there are some comments saying…
I get that part, which is why I find others opinion of the Fl is quite harsh. She’s a leader. I would give this drama a higher rating if the couple have a strong chemistry on scene.

i agree with you in what was the feedback about the FL. she is headstrong with a moral character and the decisions she made is for the greater good but not realizing that some decisions comes with sacrifice and tragedy. i gave this drama a 7.5. for some reason, i don't find the ML and FL have a strong chemistry. there's some pairing where you would root and cheer for the couple's development. this pair just don't do it for me. 9.5 would be for a great drama you would watch on repeat more than once.
She has trauma from her past life with regards to marital duties. If your only experience was WTY and a miscarriage…
well, the author captured the time period's expectations and lack of expectations. sex is always pleasurable for men then women, esp during that time frame when all you were told to expect from a married life comes from your aunties/moms or an educational book of drawings to show what marriage/sex is. it is not about pleasure or fun, but simply as your duty of a wife to the husband and to the family to bear children.
LOL...i still cringed at the ages of these characters in novels from dynasty times...but life do begin young back then.
it's just the drama's way of adding more personality to the drama. this is her rebirth/second life and she's well…
Some description is very direct like DZ’s dad’s address: behind the temple flower alley … Which could be confusing. There were a couple of typos but not hard to understand.

That’s bc it’s WTY…she is doing what is expected of every women of that time period. With Song Mo, she’s not afraid of intimacy. She actually experienced affection and love from Song Mo which she never had with WTY. The drama depicts a less wise version and a not very clueless of DZ when it comes to things like this. Due to her rebirth, she lost that innocence from the transition of a young maiden to a women.
Why is FL so shy and oblivious about being affectionate with her husband?
it's just the drama's way of adding more personality to the drama. this is her rebirth/second life and she's well aware of what sex/affection is. novel is super descriptive and explicit with their romance, bedroom life.
Mostly due to 'save face', these high profile families tend to privately deal with it. Divorcing would prompt…
these villains all died/killed off when their evil deeds are exposed in the novels i read so far.
Example: The Double the stepmother was killed off by the Matriarch of the family (the grandmother) and was announced to the public she got an uncurable illness and passed away immediately. She did killed 3 people and caused one person to suicide. Drama: she lost her mind and get to live the remainder of her life carefree with care, food and shelter.
in Blossom, the stepmother only did a bride swap. i forgot the details but the stepmother refuses to accept the divorce or her maiden family was fighting against it. the only option was to send her back to the maiden home and that was it. it was only b/c the maiden family's other members can't stand her that the mother decided to send her off to the farming estate/manor. Her sister in laws instructed the old maids to rough her up if she doesn't listen or follow instructions on the way to the farming estate. that was her demised and the fact that her own daughter cut ties with her to appease the Wei family.
DZ and DM does not get along. DM is arrogant, stubborn and very snobby due to her mother's upbringing and spoiling. DM does not regard or respects DZ as a sister or a family of the Dou family. DM did switch out DZ for the bride to marry WTY. however DM and WTY's marriage was not a happy one. their relationship is similar to what the drama depicts w/ a lot of meddling from WTY's sister. DM is jealous of DZ and expects DZ to bend to her (self center i'm too important psychosis) DM had a falling out with her father, the Dou family and choose to not acknowledge her mother as part of an agreement with the Wei family. WTY impregnants her study servant maid and keeps a mistress outside. their marriage deteriorates and they become unhappy bitter with life and everything around them.
the stepmother refused a divorce after the bride swapping scandal. the father had no choice but to send her back to her maiden home. he does not intend to bring her back to the Dou family/home. stepmother think of it was only for a short time and is confident she will be welcome back to the family. overtime, the stepmother annoys her maiden family, eating them out of house and home. in the end, the stepmother was sent to the country estate/farm to live out her life there.
the ladies during that time period does not do things outside of their home/courtyard, let alone do loan shark (like the drama) and meet with bandits/gangs.
the novel is detailed and has 500 chapters b/c it breaks down a lot of the dynasty/social cultures, norms, expectations, rules and roles the men and ladies have...and it's certainly not like the drama depicts it.
Why do these dramas show such leniency for the villains? for the time period, for a woman to commit such sin such as bringing disgrace to the family warrants divorce (with shame). this woman (the stepmother) commited a serious crime and she gets off on 'crazy' and lock away. there is no satisfaction at all b/c the villain gets off too light.
Oh darn ep 25 teaser .. she literally stop that sword with her hand… she’s actually changing history.Jiyong…
in the novel, jirong's family and DZ's sixth auntie (excluded in the drama) wanted to matchmake and was hoping they got married. DZ married SM instead. the JR in the novel and her are close since they grew up together and JR don't mind marrying her since he does not find her repulsive. JR's character in the novel is pretty funny, he's one to welcome and look forward to chaos.
you should read the novel...the storyline (minus the modern girl reliving in the history part) gives all the character…
Yeah…the novel also included the dynamic relationship between ML and the 3rd prince. They are super close but for the sake of politic balance, they don’t show it. 3rd Prince was also the only one who argued against the king and clear ML’s name and crime of patricide. In the drama, it was 2ML. Drama rushed the ending too.
I love this show! But I have one huge gripe! It's the three seemingly brainless sidekicks of the ML. Time and…
They are soldiers/fighters. Simply brawny guys which is why they are not smart or scheming. Their suspicion is on point considering their situation. FL’s family is their enemy and it’s a good reason they can’t just trust her. FL’s family conflict is kept under wraps and a lot is unknown to outsiders. FL is only wise and on point bc she is the only one that lived through and know things.
