You could be right about Anning... Even HY survived with the arrows through his heart. Northern Bei had the best…
It’s super high risk bc there was no precedent in this type of nature. So at the time, HY was close to death and the physician has nothing to lose but to give it a try. One of his disciples, in the name of medical studies, sacrifice his own heart to save HY.
I suspect that drama companies might opt for "adaptations" for legal reasons. If the source material (novel) ends…
Yes, if you read the novel, you can't watch the drama with any expectations. The drama version of this drama is simply disappointing. However, this drama is way too off. Some characters were added more for the drama entertainment and nothing related to the book. I get that drama excluded certain parts or unimportant characters from the book, which is understandable. However, this drama added characters and combine characters that's not even from the book.
So watch the drama with a grain of salt and NO expectations of any sort haha...
Han Ye was the SMARTEST to kill Left Chancellor & its one of the BEST things he's ever done. I won't comment on…
noooo, how could the writers make LMX evil like that. LMX would never do anything that will hurt DZY. Causing or killing AN is like hurting DZY. this drama is blagh
You could be right about Anning... Even HY survived with the arrows through his heart. Northern Bei had the best…
in the novel, HY fell off the cliff but was saved by the BeiQin physician. Heart transplant was done but HY lost sight of his eyes. AN dies in battle at the battle of Qin Nang city.
this drama would be as good as love like the galaxy (the drama was a very close/perfect resemblance to the novel) if they follow closely to the novel. i rather they break it up in 2 seasons so we could get quality story/plots. the characters, plot and EVERYTHING sucks. i never seen a drama where they give side villian (the fake DZY) so much screen time. the fake DZY only have a female attendant but the drama gave him a guy bodyguard, her own story in a way. how does that even make sense. in the novel: DCA have a female servant who is a spy for LMX. the ultimate bad guy is actually the king but they gave him such a weak fearing character. he's evil/ruthless enough to use his own mother as a scapegoat for his own crimes against the di family.
Really hope Prince Bei gets a sword in the chest soon. I also hope that we can get to the reveals soon. I think…
novel: all the men in the bei family have very short lives...average life span is 30-35. both sides had heavy casualties and needed to retreat and recoop. during this time, motian (in the novel, he's motian; he's a twin with moshuang) he doesn't get killed by anyone, just can't escape his family's genetic fate. motian's character is not evil but just an ambitious king who wants to expand beiqin.
YES! I was so mad. At the very least, he could've split the front half of the troops to keep going towards An…
Weird, LMX stayed in the capital to watch the court while DZY went to war. His body/sickness does not allow him to travel to the war zone. All planning/executions is carried out by the top general of the city post they went to. in the novel, DZY's troop (WS and YS) did not arrived on time and AN refused to back down and fight till the very end. This is her way to do what is right and to give back to her people, in a way make up for what she couldn't do for the 80k Di troop. As the general of the city, she will not leave or retreat. She rather stay and fight the enemy than go back to safety behind the city gates. Her second in command was put in control of the city and their safety if the gates get breached. AN's death was no one's fault, sometimes, in war, situations takes a turn and doesn't always side with the 'good's side.
I had the feeling he might have known already based on the conversation he had with HY when he was serving him…
that's the scene where they all headed off to war. At the time, WS could choose to go with DZY but chose to stay with HY. i sure hope they include it...the drama is sooooooo off.
Wen Shuo found out first he's DJY but did not come forth to DZY bc of the instability of politics and afraid the king will do something since DJY is actually the successor of the Di Family and the titles (after their innocence was proven). DZY found out Wen Shuo is her brother after HY died/fell off the cliff. Wen Shuo had to tell her then and there so DZY won't jump off the cliff to join HY.
He was supposedly killed at the capital when the di family were branded traitors. The siblings were more like political hostages. DZY were sent to the palace early to pacify the royal family. Since DZY wants to come back for her dad’s bday, the Di family sent the younger brother in her place until she returns to the palace. Before she left, she ask HY to watch over her brother. HY did exactly that with the right hand chancellor. HY made arrangements for WS aka DJY to grow up at his East palace. In the novel, he’s like a brother figure to DJY and watched him closely to make sure no harm comes to him.
The left chancellor was implicated in a robbery crime and he was caught. To barter with HY, he wants to be free of the crime to keep WS identity a secret from the king. In the end, the chancellor tried to fled to the palace but HY ended up executing him in public at the steps to the palace entrance. He was punished to the palace prison and rather give up his crown Prince title than tell the king em the real reason for his action. If he’s not the crown Prince, he don’t have to be in between the royal family and DZY’s plans. HY was only released when the North invaded Jing.
The drama gave all the characters wrong depictions…DZY is a determined goal oriented person with precision and execution of everything that happen. She spent 10 years plannning everything out. In the book, DZY is a chess genious and so her schemes and plans are like that of chess/go, she’s always 10 steps ahead. LMX supported her in everything she do but never pressure her or reassure her like the drama. LMX works in the dark to help DZY rebuild her family’s value to support her cause and quest for justice. HY is just as smart and wise. He always knew what DYZ was after and he didn’ t guilt trip her or stop her. He just want to shield her from harm in any way he can. He knows the king will not let her live if she wants more than just justice.
From the novel, DZY loves the most is HY…but at the same time realized she forsaken LMX the most.
Novel story arch: DZY was betrothed to LMX at birth. On her birth, her dad gave LMX a Di family dragon Phoenix jade and told the young LMX that he will be responsible for taking care of DZY. Before the grand emperor died, grand emperor issued a decree when DZY was 2 to be the crown princess. BC This is a Royal decree, DZY’s father had no choice but to cancelled his original intention with the Luo family. LMX has since taken it very serious at a young age and refused to returned the Jade and kept it as a memory and a his own secret of how much he was looking forward to marry DZY when she got older. He carried this jade with him at all times until HY came back (from recovery/cliff incident).
LMX loves DZY since her birth. At first it was a sense of responsibility, then became a sibling like protection to a devoted/unconditional love for her. Also the reason why he treated the young crown Prince with hostility When DZY was living in the palace.
I was hoping the drama would adapt closely or somewhat closely from the novel’s story arch and such. But everything is all squeezed into the 39 episodes. A lot doesn’t even make sense at all. Too much screen time given to the fake DZY. Her character in the novel is always trying to win the prince’s affections to secure a future comfort herself…and being a petty person. The king is shown to be scared of the queen dowager but he respects her. The king is no mama’s boy.
Ep. 26 and 27 was mediocre but I'm still in disbelief over the Empress dowagers behavior. I don't know if I misunderstood…
DST left to explore before the demise of the di family. The emperor also sent. Assassins to kill her. She was injured and spent 3 years healing. She has also acquired Grandmaster status when she resurface again 10 years later. When she met her niece DZY, DYZ was 11-12 y/o. DST made a promise to HZA she will never set foot in the capital after his death. There are a lot of explanations in the book of her story and she was a guide to help DZY on her quest to justice/revenge.
She volunteered to guard Ching nan city (the city where the di soldiers died). She fought till the very end to…
Her decision to fight and die in battle is her way to atone for her dad’s sins. If she survived the war, she would have married Xie jingyan, her second general in command.

It’s good to listen and read along with the novel. All chapters are available in that channel.
