Well according to him, her family destroyed/ruined his family. It’s their conflict and the theme for this mini series. It doesn’t seem like it will end well. One of them will die, the other one will regret type of scenario.

This is similar to maid’s revenge in some ways but with better actors, acting and storyline. Even so, some scenes are cringy lol but at the same time you want to watch more. I don’t get the short episodes …all the production and time spent on this…

I read it in Chinese and it was easy to look up the words and meanings when I got stuck. The English translation was only up to ch.75 - the city tower scene and the post math of what happen.

I rate it as is base on how much sense the drama makes. TTJ could die but the way everything wrapped up was so rushed. A lot of characters just get didn’t get closure. Overall, this drama felt like dragging in pace and storyline just doesn’t cut it for me. That’s my reason for the rating score. I do love the chemistry the FL and ML has.

Back then it’s not just one’s action you need to consider but the consequences of your actions effecting the family name. The most serious punishment death to the ninth degree (usually for a dynasty/emperor to order) in which anyone related to the family gets executed.

That’s how it was back in the days. Status in an Asian society is a type of social order.

It doesn’t explain if she’s an egg in the novel lol.. in the novel mi is 1k years old but still in the form of a child (like 6-7). She’s born as a god status since both of her parents are gods. She’s very cute in the novel.

I rather wait 3 months to watch Season 2 if it means a better coverage/depiction of the novel. The novel was such a good read and sooooooo different from the drama. Though, TTJ in the novel is a serious psychoPath lol. The drama version made him more human and warm.

It’s not just the ending that was the issue. The drama basically took the characters and partial plot/storyline and rewrite everything new. It did not stay true to the novel at all. If I did not read the novel and just watch the drama, I would still find it dragging and then the ending rushed without closure. The cast is amazing and the production was good. It was just disappointing to fans
of the novel for the
drama to turn out like that. No one is hating,

It’s when a aristocrat or family with a elite status falls from grace or committed a grave crime and as punishment, the women and children’s’ status are reduced to servants (working as a launderer, cook etc) or in some cases, brothels/entertainment (think of something similar to call girls vs prostitution). They are on the record and are bind to for life. They are seen as property/indentured servants. People in this status are limited in their social standings. The men in the family are sent to the border for hard labor.

Lowborn are more for people born in poverty or in environments of hard labor (farming, small business owners like street vendors). Lowborn females could marry other in their status or as a concubine .

MingLan is the first, not the latter.

They should film it in 2 parts like love like the galaxy. They will have enough ep to portray the last part of the story(from novel): TTJ reborn as Bai ziqian. It was a sweet closure for the main couple and explanation of what happen.

The drama ending sucks! The novel ending: they met 1k years later. The daughter left the abyss (after his death, it transformed into a livable place for all creatures and demons.) to look for her father, believing what susu told her that her father is out there somewhere. The daughter is a full god bc of her parents’s status. TTJ transformed the abyss into the nature world susu loves, making it inhabitable for the demons. Sue to that, they are content with their lives and stayed within the abyss. Susu and daughter also live there hoping TTJ will one day return. Daughter sneaks out and stumbles upon a new reincarnated TTJ reborn as Bai Ziqian. BZQ kept a low profile and determine to live a simple life (one if the hopes susu wanted him to do). BQZ was born with memories of his past lives and remembers everything but did not seek susu b/c he thought she’s a goddess now and is more prestigious in her status and that she is serving the good of the world. It turns out Susu knew everything that happen and his sacrifice. She spent most of her time tracing TTJ’s whereabouts without knowing he had reborn in a remote town as a human.

It is in this town susu schemed to win over BZQ. He finally gave in and married Susu. Susu knew from the get go that BZQ is TTJ when she saw him. On their wedding night, susu asked her husband, who she should refer him as: TTJ OR BQZ. After the wedding, she took him home to the abyss where everyone welcome him back. He finally has a place to call home/family. Something he desperately wanted 2when he was TTJ and Chuang JiuMin. There were a story arch in the novel that a young susu promised to take CJM ‘home’ no matter. When they left the portrait enchantment, susu do not have the memory of the promise which sadden CJM. So the novel ended with susu by keeping her promise to bring TTJ ‘home’ and start their forever.

The drama killed a lot of the sub plots and arch that are important in the novel and changed everything around. If you don’t like the ending, highly recommend
reading the novel. Novel has more closure than the drama.

The drama changed a lot of the novels plot but still able to put it together given it’s limited chapters etc. so if you read the novel, don’t expect too much from the drama.

he lacks empathy/emotions…pretty much a suppress cold hearted killer, which was why he was one of the reason the demon god picked him. The more cruel/hopeless/suffering a person endures, the stronger he is once he turns to the demon side. .

Yeah, in the novel he knew her intentions but didn’t call her out on it. TTJ was very neutral towards YBC. Even when YBC was thrown in the dungeon, she still don’t understand what is it about her that can’t win him over. TTJ in the novel is very cautious/cunning/calculating. People had a hard time reading him. Once he came into power, everyone was scared of him bc of his temperament.

In the novel, he asked the king from the sheng dynasty to send YBC to serve him (basically remarried) as part of the peace treaty. She was granted a Ladyship title. XL already died already. Sheng became a vessek state to Jin. Bc TTJ request, she was super confident of his feelings for her and constantly tried to win him over.

Yes but it’s only translated up to ch. 75. The highlight tower climax scene. The drama down play a lot of things TTJ did and also excluded characters and story plot from the book. For example, in the book, it’s the 8th brother who was supposed to be the one to make TTJ pick between the girls. After that, TTJ pretty. Ugh turn the 8th brother into minced meat; physically. YBC was respected by TTJ bc she was the only one who treat him like a human during his hostage years. He threw her in the dungeon and tortured her slowly to her death. She was torture and nurture back to health only to slowly deteriorate away until there’s not much left of her body. It was only after YXW’s death he found out what YBC did etc… She only lasted a year in the dungeon.

If the guy is hot, powerful and has money…it’s not hard. Lol

TTY is a psychopath in the novel version. He doesn’t know how to love YXW properly (like a normal person). The drama version makes him so weak and caring lol

There are a lot of misunderstandinngs in the novel too. TTJ made it obvious to everyone that he favors YBC to make YXW suffer. So people on the outside has a misconception that TTJ loves 2 women.
