There’s a subtle clue that HC is in a coma from the beginning (after the guard kicked her and ZWX rescued her). The incense/scent is what ZWX is burning to keep her alive and that HC is actually in a dream. HC is the only one that smell aroma all this time and don’t know where it’s coming from. Just my theory ….
This is one drama where I hope they don’t follow the ending to the novel. ZXW and HC both love each other dearly but due to ZXW Family background and the previous marriage with his disciple brother, they can’t be together, not even if she is his concubine. He lives a life with a reminder/regret that he will never be with the love of his life due to his society status. She will have the companionship of her bodyguard. To be correct, FL got sucked into the novel she was reading and became an unfavorable character. That’s the novel story arc but it seem like the drama dropped/excluded that part. It’s like Love Like the Galaxy where the FL also came from modern time and got stuck in the body of cheng Xiao Xiang in the novel but that part was also dropped/excluded from the drama.
Is it worth watching? I though Episode 1 was OK although I cannot stand time travelling drama.
I thought it was one of those cliche story line about being sucked into a book blagh blagh..but the drama dropped that part (modern girl got stuck in a novel but only to find that she is a villainess trying to survive). Storyline is similar to Lost Track of Time with Xing Fei: second chance trying to right the wrong. Overall, this drama is pretty good so far. Just hope the ending is satisfying to dedicate 30 episodes to it.

All the raunchy 1/2 naked scenes would not make the cut and if the ML or FL is super popular/have a clean image, they would not film racy scenes like in the mini series. China censor scenes that shows violence (anything gory/bloody, rape), smoking (why xukai’s character in falling into your smile drama smoking change. to candy addiction).
