The drunk scene had me nearly in tears from laughing holy moly
The drunk scene has to be one of my favourites πππ It's one of the funniest drunk scenes in BL for me. Yuan Jun Cheng was such a cute and entertaining drunk π€£
Has second season been confirmed??? You are giving me hope π
That's great! They will have the chance then, to develop the other couples in a better, smoother pace and we'll have more episodes to enjoy π Thank you for letting me know!!!
I believe that might be a reference to "A Tale of Thousand Stars" π
You are welcome :)
Yeah, it's a very complicated story indeed but I would love to see adapted to series! Definitely not a fluffy BL but a super angsty one which will make the happy ending even more fulfilling π
I like how they resolve the conflict between them and Pitch quickly and become friends, and that Pitch was the one who took the initiative. That makes him so much more interesting and multilayered as a character rather than the stereotypical, absolute "bad guy/rival" trope.
I believe that might be a reference to "A Tale of Thousand Stars" π
Of course π but keep in mind I haven't read the book myself since it's not translated yet, but had some other fans of the series spoiled it for me!!!
First of all, some backstory for Nan so you can fully understand his story.
Nan has two brothers. Nuea, his half brother, and Nakin, his step brother with whom he is not blood related. Their family situation is quite complicated. Let's just say that the parents, let's call them husband and wife to make it a little bit easier to understand, have one biological son Nuea. The husband had an affair with another woman and had Nakin. So Nakin is an illegitimate son. The wife out of spite had an affair as revenge, with the family driver, and got pregnant to Nan. So both Nan and Nakin are half brothers to Nuea, and step brothers and not blood related to each other.
Nuea has a great relationship with Nan and often pretends to be his boyfriend in order to protect him from all the people flirting with him. Nuea has a crush on Pi and becomes Mork's main rival in book. Unfortunately we didn't have the chance to meet him in the series.
There is also An, the brothers' cousin who also frequently pretends to be Nan's boyfriend in order to protect him.
As for Nakin, he is Nan's love. He is currently living in the US far from the family. Their love story is pretty angsty, understandable, considering their complicated situation and that the father/husband fully aware that Nan isn't his biological son, hates him.
In the beginning Nan was unaware of the full truth and thought that Nakin and himself were truly brothers, thus if I am not mistaken, he was kinda blaming him for breaking their family apart but more importantly he hated himself for falling in love with him. Once he found out the truth, he felt extremely guilty thinking that the life he has, should have been Nakin's (since he was the biological son of the husband) and vice versa.
At some point Nan tried to move on from Nakin and started dating Dr. Tat (who someone else wrote that he is actually a terrible person but I am not sure about that) but they eventually break up since Nan still loves Nakin.
Nakin returns from the US and feelings started to bloom again π And as far as aI know it's a happy ending π
I believe that might be a reference to "A Tale of Thousand Stars" π
You mean the book? Yes, it's the sequel and it's Nan's story, which is a very angsty one but with a happy ending :)
As for the adaptation in series unfortunately I don't know... I am just wishing for it! Considering they mentioned the title in the last episode and Mix has become so close with Earth in real live and have already been paired together again in "Half", we might have a chance who knows :D Fingers crossed π€π»
p.s. but even if we don't get the adaptation of this novel, I am pretty optimistic we will have more series with Mix and Earth as the main couple! Their chemistry and popularity won't go unnoticed by GMMTV for sure ;)
Ok, but what's with the cactuses in BL series? "Manner of death", "Why R U?", "My Engineer", "Quaranthings" and now "Top Secret Together" (and I'm pretty sure I am missing a few) π After engineering, cursed eleventh episodes, shippers and step brothers, cactuses are slowly claiming they spot in the BL pantheon of tropes πππ
Is the show worth watching? I thought it would be a light watch but I didnβt read the best stuff about Morkβs…
I agree with snownballpower! It's very lighthearted, cute series perfect to fix your mood :)
Nothing really groundbreaking, but it has its' strong moments where it breaks from the usual BL cliches (how they treat the shippers, the conflict in the relationship etc)
The characters are all well written and multilayered which makes them quite refreshing since they are not your usual moving stereotypes, and the chemistry between the two mains is great!

That's good news! Let's hope the series is successful enough then :)

I really wish we'll be blessed with the adaptation of this book as well, with Earth as Nakin!!!
