I've been watching k dramas since the early 2010s and for me they used to be some kind of guilty pleasure. I feel that now that they have to cater to both western and eastern viewers, they more or less all follow the same darker ambiance or overly cheesy romance. I don't necessarily believe it's a bad thing, just not my jam.. and I'm happy in my c-drama world that seems to now give me two to three masterpieces a year.
Starting it today! Does anyone know how old are the characters supposed to be? The childhood connection tag is throwing me off and i'm here for the age gap (I'm not but it's a bonus)
it's not but also people who didn't like the story dropped it at season 1 so it should be higher.
I'm basically comparing it to other multiple seasons/parts shows. Both seasons of Love like the galaxy, joy of life, immortal samsara, the blue whisper and my dearest have the same rating.
The .3 drop is surprising despite it not having finished airing yet. That's why I was curious.
WJY looks her age and WXY has the late twenties look going on despite basically being a baby. They're supposed to be about the same age in the drama but with everything A'Li went through, she had to look older, wearier. I don't see the 10+ age gap but I can see 5 and I think it really fits.

But after the east sea scene -which was by far the best of the whole show- it just drags and drags and drags. So many things could have been avoided if they would just talk and stop with the inner monologues too.
It's my fourth try and I just can't get past episode two. I keep missing out on this drama cause I find the beginning very obnoxious (and yang mi is just too pretty to play such an insufferable character)

I think the show disappointed me towards the end because while it was our girl's second chance, she wasn't pivotal to anything. She felt merely like a plot device by the end when imo, the best part of the whole show was when she bested XW getting the letter back.
But it was still epic and now I need something else to watch with just as many love rivals -but hopefully more likable.
