Finished! I binged the whole thing in just a few days and only skipped a bit towards the end. I liked it; it was addicting and it makes me want to read the novel to see the differences but...
i'm totally loving the show but also the romance is pissing me off. I understand why Ning'er is infatuated with ZZ but he's boring as hell in this life and XW... well he's getting worse by the second. When the obsessive red flag has no idea why he's getting jealous... he takes it out on the girl. I miss Yan Lin, at least the boy was honest and had boundaries (outside of you know... the first life)
dementia or not, hopefully XW gets his head out of his butt soon and starts treating her with some respect. Stop scaring my girl, k?
Started watching it yesterday -and I absolutely love it! But what's with Xue Shu's makeup? They made her look much older than the others, it's distracting.
The world of cdrama is so fascinating to me. The audience for them are mostly complete weirdos who like weird…
i was concerned about all the dark tags and I couldn't find anyone listing some lol. I'll still watch it because i'm a sucker for fictional red flags, but i needed this heads up
I'm on episode 10 and it's definitely Hei-Bai Fengxi and not Bai-Hei Fengxi's story... which is kind of a bummer because I love Bai Fengxi so much and find the politics such a bore. Will Zhao Lusi get more screen time at some point?
So I just found out there is a Korean version of leverage (thanks tik tok) for someone who loved the US version…
It's not as humorous because the characters didn't have enough episodes and time to form the bonds we saw in OG Leverage (and Tae Joon/Nate has to get his revenge). But I personally love both shows!
I felt really sad for NYZ because his love was just so pure. But on the other end they were too perfect for each…
Totally, they were the worst! The Duke and his wife are so much nicer and amazing people! I'm also happy she didn't end up with him but sad he got his heart broken cause he's so pretty and kind.
Finally started it and it gets way better after a few episodes. Hua Hua is hilarious and much smarter than she…
I love how she tries to seduce him at first but doesn't know why; then he does and doesn't know why either. They are really cute together as friends, I wonder how it will go when it becomes romantic.
Finally started it and it gets way better after a few episodes. Hua Hua is hilarious and much smarter than she appears at first and Rong Xia can act like a cute idiot at some point.
JJL is such an amazing heroine. She's strong-willed, brilliant, but also so adorable and funny. And the actress…
I felt really sad for NYZ because his love was just so pure. But on the other end they were too perfect for each other in my opinion and JJL really needed the carefreeness of ZZ to balance her out. Her life with NYZ would have been grand but not epic -and she definitely gained wonderful in-laws with ZZ!
JJL is such an amazing heroine. She's strong-willed, brilliant, but also so adorable and funny. And the actress is simply beautiful and portrayed her role perfectly. I loved everything about this drama: the story was amazing, the acting was great, the side characters weren't useless and very endearing. I also loved the chemistry between both Jiuling and Zhu Zan and between her and Young Master Ning. They were both fabulous love interests and I would have been happy and sad either way.
I only started skipping a couple of scenes between JJL and ZZ in the last few episodes because I was more into the story than the romance by this point. And now I believe I might go try the novel, which have been on my reading list for years now.
I feel like most female "villains" are written as antagonists and not real villains, making them so unlikable. Their only purpose is basically to add drama and some angst, le sigh. But my favorite drama villain of all time is Mishil from Queen Seon Duk. She is so evil, and smart, and beautiful, and not stuck into a sexist stereotype.
The lead actors are amazing and so are the reviews; I really want to like it. But I am a few episodes in and there are already so many inconsistencies. I started skipping scenes at episode 4 and I cannot stand the ML so far. I hate how everything he does is "because he knows best" and I hate how FL lets him get away with it. However, Bai Lu is still *chief's kiss*. I love her sarcastic facial expressions the most.

Thank you for the article!
