It's a nice story about the advocate of women's education in that era. It shows the struggles and inequality of gender roles back then. I find Hirose a good actress, but the way she delivered the English accent didn't sound natural for her character.
The kaga yuzen part was interesting but other than that, the mother/her family just won't open up, even with her friends, the relationships were just surface level. It was sad for all of them.
A well-written depiction of family relationship, grief, prejudice on homosexuals and changing views towards them. It carefully tackled each character's sentiments that made them realistic and endearing.
This had the potential to be my fave among the trilogy, but things went downhill after the honeymoon scene. Their lies backfired as the father and the woman were more self-serving.
