In the webtoon his ex is a manager from another team that got married and appears once, maybe twice. FLs ex is a guy that she had a crush for a long time, they were together for a couple of years and then they broke up. After she ends ups with the ML she completely forgets about him, he has a hard time getting over her but doesn't try to win her again.
One of the webtoons themes is the way their past relationships traumas influence their current relationship.

I mean, in the webtoon, there is an FL's ex, and they both have some unresolved feelings for each other. But as soon as FL ends up with ML, she forgets about him completely. The ex stays stuck on her for a little while but that is a minor plot point and he's respecting her wishes not to see each other anymore. It is very well made in the webtoon and it serves to show a relationship trauma that FL has and needs to have it resolved in her relationship with the ML. I hope drama will do it's justice.

It's actually about 2 different realtionships (kinda). The 2nd FL is just a coworker with the 1 FL and ML, she has her own thing going on.
But yes if production follows webtoon, it will not be a typical romance kdrama. The webtoon is more about their relationships.

I'm currently reading webtoon and so far it is amazing. It has more of a melo vibe and very little comedy so I hope the drama will be that way too.

So I searched it and doesn't have to be. CPR techniques were know even in ancient Egypt and ancient China engaged in cultural and goods exchanges with various parts of Europe, Africa and Asia (ex. Silk Road), so it is possible that Yu Qian is from one of those parts of the world, or she visited it.But honestly, time travel would be so cool :)

I agree, actors and director made a wonderful job! And the director made a choice to depict their story as a dark romance in opposition of an abuse story, which in it's reality it actually is.

Yeah, the last couple of scenes feels rushed.

I mean I hate Qi Min's guts but I have to admit he looks so fine in that emperor outfit.

They made their scenes romantic and sexy, almost depicting it like a tragic love story.
