After watching the first two episodes I am hooked on this drama. It might be too dour if their wasn't a wacky female lead. So, I'm not in love with her character, but the writers might not intend for us to be. We will see...this is just beginning.
Here 's the info on how to report subtitle issues at Hotpot.tvhttps://help.hotpot.tv/hc/en-us/articles/360025238851-How-can-I-report-a-problem-with-subtitles-I'll…
Thanks, I reported. I am excited about this site although it hasn't posted very many shows I have not already watched, but I have bookmarked those that I haven't seen and have started those. I am looking forward to see what they can provide. Any legal site is a boon!
It is an interesting website. I am assuming once they start running the ads we will have an opt out with a membership fee. This is what I am hoping for. I watched up to ep 27 of Long Time No see and then there were no English Subs. I also really found no where to send them an error message as yet. I have requested a password but haven't received it as yet. They are so new and I am sure still working out the bugs. I love any legal safe site I can find for my addiction.
Thank you for your timely article. I've gotten into the Historicals lately, even re watching some and your article helps puts some context to my viewing pleasures. I haven't watched the last three so now I am on the hunt again...
i don't think the pacing picks up much beyond this, with the exception of maybe ten or so episodes. i just don't…
It definitely is a character driven drama, which relies heavily on character development so you can understand why everyone acts the way they do. I was so fascinated by the set,s the daily ironing, the dressing and care of the clothes the maids and their jobs and spats that before too long I was as interested in all those things as much as I was Minglan
i lot of people who liked yunxi enjoyed this drama but the type of scheming is not nearly as intense and it is…
In many ways I loved Yanxi palace more than this one...but it is a close tie...heavier on Ming Lan...but that might be because I just finished Ming Lan
The editors approved it so I went forward without the warning
On shows like this, I like to know what I am getting into. I am the kind of person who reads the last page of a book or watches the last episode (if available) of a drama, to make sure it had a happy ending...so I loved your article.
i don't think any drama, not even eternal love, has me so utterly obsessed. I am watching it again and it is like…
You might try out the Story of Yanxi Palace. I think it is as well done as this one and mainly deals with the issues of women. It is very realistic too.
Really great article! I think you captured the nuances of the show very well. To me, the show gave me the feeling that I was reading my great great grandmother's daily diary. It was wonderful. I agree if you are a history lover, you will LOVE this show.
The struggle is REAL! lol I actually didn't know that about China but it's interesting what's allowed/not allowed…
They initially did have a few, like Kiss Me, then they disappeared. Netflix' venture into Thai shows is relatively new. I bet the problem is with Thailand itself. They only started using HD recently because of censorship, sponsorship and investment issues. The reason they do so many remakes, is that those show have already been approved by the censorship requirements so they are ,much easier to get produced. There have been quite a few shows that started airing then were pulled off the airways but the government as it did not approve the message it was portraying.
I just laugh so hard at you comment "Obsessive love and jealousy that is delusional, is a symptom of mental health problems and is a symptom that occurs in about 0.1% of adults — regarding this percentage lakorns should already cover all the persons concerned." that I required a trip to the bathroom before I could continue reading your article.
I am a big fan of lakorns, but I will be the first to admit that I turn the sound down or off when our delusional character starts screaming about one thing or another. The entire treatment of women/classes in Thailand is not an emotionally healthy environment for any of the residents.
Your examples were point on and quite humorous. I am glad to see more interest and discussion regarding lakorns.
Oh and one of my jokes is that you can usually tell how good a Chinese drama is going to be based on the wigs!…
LOL...I rate restaurants on whether they serve REAL butter or a spread of some kind! I'm going to use your rating system to see if it holds true for me too.
