i can agree with everything except the last point you made, why feel bad for him? it all started bcs of a bet,…
Um, no. I don't even 100% believe he did that over a bet. The way I see it, he's used to being chased by girls, and here is this girl who goes out of her way to avoid him. Even if the bet thing didn't come up, he'd probably still try to get close to her out of pride, and start to like her. So what if he's a playboy? They're human too, and they're allowed to grow and change. Of all the characters, just up to where I've watched, he's had the most (pretty much the only) character growth. And his role in this drama is basically to have his pride beaten up over and over which I'm not a fan of watching, when we've seen very little of why that would be deserved. If they'd have cut his character entirely, or limited his appearance to the first few episodes, then that would be fine, but according to other comments, he'll be around until the end.
On My Roommate Is a Gumiho Apr 11, 2025
This is more boring than I thought, tbh. I've mostly only been watching cdramas recently and I picked this for my first kdrama in a while since I've had it saved since 2021. But for a story with a fantasy monster, it's a lot less exciting than I thought it would be. There was the element with the women dying, but it's just used to give ML a sense of crisis and stopped almost as soon as it's highlighted as a problem. I skipped a lot of the first episodes because of the second hand embarrassment humor. I'm only on ep 8 but I'm skipping a lot, and honestly I just feel bad for 2ml.

This drama didnt really focus on the romance but more on plot and investigations. I would say the romance is only…
Definitely. It's only been two weeks and I keep remembering their scenes together and giggling to myself. My family must think I'm going crazy, but these two were so good together.

Are you talking about the blind girl and officer lovestory? If it's that's so I also love that story I wish this…
Right? The scenes were so well shot, and I'm glad that it lasts pretty much from the beginning until the final episodes, I really wanted to see them get together but their subtle romance was really well done ❤️❤️❤️

You literally @ted me??? And it was in my notifications which is why I even came back here after all this time, I WAS living my life???? (Ps I pretty much skipped your entire comment besides the first and last sentences. You clearly need some English comprehension skills if you really don't realize how you came off, or that the one starting (and continuing) something unnecessary was you. No hate or anything, just an observation. And, it's not as though I'm not living my life, I had a moment of boredom and this (again) popped up in my notifications or I wouldn't bother to even reply.)

This is a drama with a lot of elements. It's about the leads, their lives, careers, the people in their lives, and their various psychological issues. The romance is only one part of the story, which I was fine with because, in the first place, I came here to see more of Allen Ren after watching Under the Power.

Minor spoilers below.

I didn't realize at first that this drama was 40 eps long until I was a few episodes in (I didn't see how many videos were in the playlist on YT) and to be honest, because I was in a hurry to finish I skipped just about every scene that didn't have the ML in it or was dragged on for too long with silence. Besides Chenchen's story, the billionaire that kept protecting the FL, I ignored just about every other secondary character (besides the ML's bro, I wanted to see if anything happened to him, but even though it was narrated that he was left with nothing, technically, he'll be earning massive royalties from ML's script since he owns copyright. I hope he'll still be miserable, and the ML is obviously amazing enough to make more good scripts in the future, so he'll be successful no matter what.)

It's a very chill drama, I would even call it slice of life, so it's slow, but it made up for it with the ML's scripts. The transition from friendship to love between the leads was so subtle if you blinked you would miss it, but I did like watching them just be comfortable around each other. As for the scripts, I love them! It was like seeing 4 Allen Ren shows in one; with the fluffy screenwriter Shanshan, the badass cop Luo Cheng, a teen bad boy, and a racecar driver. Since I just wanted to see more of Ren Jialun in the first place, I loved seeing him playing all these different characters.

I can see why some people were confused about the ending, but I'll just ignore that last minute and imagine they overcome the FL's mental illness, and as she goes back to work, ML also goes back to his career, and the two build a life together. I actually felt bad for Yuan Yuan, too, even though she indulged the bro too much and just ignored his abuse of the ML for too long. For me, both she and the ML were victims, because I know even if she'd told ML about everything he wouldn't have cared since he overcompensated the people in his life a little too much because of abandonment issues. If it wasn't an outright betrayal like what Jia Zhen did at the end, copyrighting his work without his consent and causing trouble for him and the company, I really think he would have forgiven it all because he didn't think he was exploited, since he genuinely didn't seem to care about the money as long as he had enough to live on. So I hope the both of them at least remained friends, because while he has other people around him she didn't seem to have anyone else besides the two of them.

The only regret I really have is not seeing a proper conclusion to Luo Cheng's story with the singer Gu Anan. It was the best part of this for me, it could have been its own drama.

I finally watched this drama 3-4 years after I first knew about it. I've been on a binge of Allen Ren's dramas recently, and I'm glad I finally got to see this. I skipped some of the cases they were investigating because it got slow at some point, and this drama had a bad case of cockroach infestation, where the leads meet/fight/injure/catch evil characters, who in the end run away, a couple times even surviving what looks to be life threatening injury, then they meet again, the villains run again, and on the circle continues. These same criminals are finished off very quickly toward the end. The beginning was also bit messy because where other dramas have love triangles or even squares, this drama had a love chain, and it seemed every (important) character loved someone who loved someone else (besides ML and FL, of course). But seeing the leads become close, and the ML fall for the FL and their relationship together was definitely worth it. Allen Ren is one of the rare actors I find both handsome and cute 🥰 I look forward to seeing more from him.
On You Are My Glory Feb 25, 2025
I can tell why people love this, but honestly, rather than a story about romance, it's a story about the ML's struggle with his career and a side of the FL's actress work, and their romance is the final sub plot. We start with the ML struggling over his career and end with his achieving a huge milestone. The couple don't get together until 22 episodes in, and what's left is just snapshots of their lives.

It's not bad. But it's definitely something that, if not for Yang Yang and Dilraba, I wouldn't have watched to the end. I even skipped a lot of scenes where the two of them weren't together in a scene to finish up the final ten episodes. It's a very real and mature drama, but I watch for the fantasy and excitement, so that really slowed down the drama for me toward the end.

Title Forever and Ever Spoiler
For those that haven't read it, how different is the sister's death and everything that happens after in the novel?
That haven't, or that have read the novel? It's pretty similar except for a few points
-they don't show anyone grieving in the novel, they have the funeral, tablet is put away in the ancestral hall, and life moves on. In the drama, they at least showed the characters crying.
-since the novel is mostly in FL's pov, the stuff the drama shows while she's in a coma is not there in the novel. We pretty much skip from the incident where brother attacked FL and ML (in the novel, guns were involved), to ML getting the news of her waking up.
-there are extra chapters depicting their life afterwards. They have 3 kids. The drama just ends with FL declaring she's pregnant. They had twin girls, then a boy.

This is the drama that got me out of a 2-year kdrama slump ❤️ I loved everything about it, it helped that I've seen the leads and loved them in previous shows, and I discovered Lee Soo Hyuk and found a new k-actor to be obsessed over 😂

I've never seen the 2nd lead actress, not even after watching this drama, but she's so pretty 😊. I read so many comments complaining about the story, like it doesn't make sense or they expected more or they hated the love triangle with the second leads (I actually didn't mind it much and had no conflict with who I wished she'd end up with, 2ml wasn't perfect but Kang Tae Oh lost his chance on his own) but I rewatch it every now and then, and it's good to come back and see more nice comments.

😳 I came to check out the comments on this drama after seeing so many clips on YT, glad I thought to come here 😂

From all the depressed comments I guess starting before the drama ends is a bad idea.
On Kokdu: Season of Deity Jan 6, 2024
I don't get what the comments were talking about. I was psyched to watch this after seeing some YouTube clips. The comments here were very discouraging, but I ended up really loving the story. I also don't think the acting is as bad as claimed. This is the third time I'm seeing this actress and she's better than in the last dramas I saw her in (she seemed more natural here.) ML was great, too. The hair, though, makes him look younger than the last drama I saw him in. He's playing a 35 year old character, and he looks like he could pass for twenties.

Title The Ghost Detective Spoiler
Although this show is great but in terms of plot holes it's unbelievable...Some things remain unexplained like…
3 years too late but I can at least answer some questions in case someone cares:

The ghost can make herself seen when she wants to and not seen when she doesn't. She wanted to be seen at the time the dash cam was recording, and even at that it's very glitchy.

ML showed fatigue when running - this was explained in their first questioning of the ex-shaman girl. Because his death was recent his spirit was still confused and feeling what he would have as a human. He got hungry, and got tired like a real human. As for the clothes disappearing with him, that's probably a ghost power or something. Didn't he also get the power to show himself to others in the end? Making the clothes a part of himself so they're invisible like he is is one explanation, but that's purely my guess.

Smh why are people still commenting on Cha Eun Woo's acting? He plays the characters exactly how they're written…
My hesitation with this drama is what's going to happen after ep 9, it's not even done airing so I'm going to wait a bit and get spoilers about what went down in their past. Mr. Lee's been giving dark vibes the whole time, and he seemed to be on the MC's side from time to time, but I guess not. I'll save myself the heartbreak and wait to get spoilers on the final episodes. The MCs are way too happy for episode 9 so there'll probably be a lot of tears before the final episode.
On A Good Day to Be a Dog Dec 23, 2023
Smh why are people still commenting on Cha Eun Woo's acting? He plays the characters exactly how they're written so rather than blame the actor, maybe you're just not a fan of this character archetype (if you've seen cold CEO, it's basically the same but Eun Woo's been playing the teen versions, and now he's playing adult versions, we'll probably, eventually, see him playing an actual CEO). His good looks just fit this character type so I guess they cast him in similar roles a lot (Gangnam Beauty, True Beauty, this one, he's basically playing different versions of the same character type) but he does have other roles where he displays variety in his acting.

I happen to love this character type, webtoons and plenty of Asian novels are full of them (kdramas, too, they're in a lot of old dramas but in recent ones at least the guys are less mean and toxic) so I happen to love everything he's in.

the only thing I have to say about this drama is that the mountain god needs to grow tf up. your lover is long…
We don't know how old he is or how time moves for him (is 500 years a lot for him compared to a human for example). Since the pain for him still seems strong, I do feel bad for him, but he's taking out his anger on the wrong people (since the people he wanted to harm technically died, unless they're going to remember their past lives or something.)

I put this off for so long, but I found myself bored and finally decided to give it a try.

Surprisingly, I loved it. (Also, has Eunwoo's voice always been this raspy? I loved it, it gave me goosebumps in some scenes, but it's unexpected. Maybe it's been too long since I've watched him in a drama.) I love Soo Ho, just like I thought I would, and I don't get the second lead syndrome people had over Seojun. I actually wanted to really hurt him in the beginning, your mutual friend committed suicide and instead of talking things over you assume your other friend was the one to push him to make that decision and make life impossible for him? The way he kept getting on Soo Ho's case to make him suffer even more without asking what went down that night, smh.

I read so many comments from clips in YouTube that made me think Soo Ho would have a flat personality, but that's not the case. For obvious reasons, he was going through stuff, he didn't smile much, but you don't need to variate your expression to emote better, using your voice to show how you feel is valid, too. And, he did show variations of expressions so I don't get that argument. I loved that he fell for the FL first and chased her first. I loved that he was always protecting her, and how clingy of a boyfriend he became in the end.

I didn't like the time skip, or learning they'd broken up in that time skip. I'd wanted them to end this in high school, but it is nice seeing the characters in the next arc of their lives (college and work). I knew this had a webtoon and I'd watched one episode and failed to get into it, which could be why I hesitated on the drama, but now I know I'll be repeating it a few times. There are some scenes I skipped due to second hand embarrassment and other parts that were slow, but I watched the whole drama. It's a 10/10 for me.
