Seriously. No hate to this drama. it is cute and all. but.......
Agreed. This is way too fluffy for any kind of objective comparison to either of those series. I'm not mad about it tho, give me all the MeenPing fluff lol.
Gangster Oppa is lovely, really is a perfect gentlemen for Guy.
Very similar vibe to Ai in Ai Long Nhai in that regard; perfect gentlemen meets and falls for hot, mess, clumsy AF adorableness.
Wahl is such a controlling, all the red flags creep, Mr I-want-my-cake-and-I-want-to-eat-it-too. But he's manipulative and making it seem like he "cares" about Guy. It feels like he knows Guy is into him but instead of being straightforward, it's like he's using that knowledge to manipulate Guy.
This is really enjoyable so far. Nice angle on a BL school drama and the acting is good. I don't really do horror but I like this plot so far. I think I'll spread out the episode for myself, just watched episode 1 and 2.
Tbh I adored Ai Long Nhai (it's my fluffy comfort series) so even if the story isn't great in this series (can't wait to find out!!), I like these two on screen so I'm here for it.
I was brought here when I heard who was playing the Taiwanese tourists (the real ending for me for my favourite pairing in HIStory3: MODC), but I loved the main pairing here too. I wanted to kick Akira when he did what he did but I'm glad he came to his senses.
Finally finished this. It got so heavy there I had to pause it for a while and watch other series (srsly aren't we blessed to have so many BL options? Yeah they're not all great but this is a better problem to have than having almost no BL series or ONLY ones where the gay character dies lol ah I remember the early and mid 2000s... I didn't know of any Thai or Korean BL dramas like this but srsly, it was slim pickings).
I digress. This was heavy but I enjoyed it overall. It definitely required suspending your disbelief lol but overall it was enjoyable. Don't take it too seriously in terms of everything totally making sense, it'll hurt your head.
(seriously how was the uncle not arrested like around episode 9? Why didn't Nueng hire someone to investigate the guy when he was pretty sure it was the uncle? Even if he didn't know, Palm knew so what gives?? Anyway... still grateful this is the problem we have lol even tho this could be better).
One thing I enjoyed specifically is the fact that this is a school plot but more than that. It's actually an interesting storyline (very Lion King imo) but not something I see frequently in Thai BL dramas (no point in comparing it to KinnPorsche btw).
I enjoyed the actors overall. I felt they genuinely had good chemistry even if they were ridiculous (but most BL leads are absurd when they're head over heels so I guess that tracks).
The chemistry is lacking for me and the series is kind of mid. It’s not bad but it’s not great either. And I think sometimes, you can have a mid plot (or even almost no plot) and amazing chemistry and it works. I actually enjoy pointless fluff with a couple that’s got amazing chemistry (it’s a guilty pleasure I indulge in once in a while).
This isn’t that.
I’m kind of bored with this… which is too bad bc Perth is a pretty decent actor in other series. I loved him on Love By Chance.
Also, I keep hoping it’ll improve and the chemistry will get better. Name and Saifah look promising in this regard!
I sincerely look forward to each episode every week and I feel honestly satisfied; not like I'm still starving for more but still looking forward to the next part of the story. I feel this series is actually very well done, has the right amount of sweetness, has some good spice, minimal cringe factor and is overall very entertaining.
