1) I'll start off with the comment about Sam. Personally, I think that if you have a character who starts off…
Hi! Thanks for voicing your thoughts on Sam's behaviour πŸ’š

I do agree it's certainly a good thing they make us see into her past and how she acts around her friends and Kirk. It not only shows us she can mean well even if she doesn't act like it, but it gives us clues on why she acts this way. One more thing I like is how they show Sam is building her public persona separate from what she's really like, when stating in interviews that she likes cats or colorful places (while she actually prefers dogs and her place doesn't have much colors).

I still do think they pushed her coldness a bit too much at times, though. Especially when Mon's ideas get repeatedly rejected without any reason or guidance. Before then, Sam was portrayed as hard, but reasonable boss. This scene didn't make much sense to me. Especially when the work got magically approved out of nowhere later on without any comments (Mon hasn't even learned that from her, but from Kirk). Her way of asking Mon out for a dinner was more in accordance to her "cold on the outside, soft on the inside" persona. The car roof flex scene after was really peculiar, but also kinda funny! πŸ˜† I was also a bit perplexed by the whole phone incident later on, but they called her out on it (and she had a headache), so I'm willing to forgive her that.

Overall, I feel like they tried too hard to make us see both sides of Sam in episode 2, and feel impacted by it each time. I would have prefered a bit nuanced, softer approach that would look more realistic. But we're already past that, so let's move on πŸ’™

Jim (Looknam) is a tough nut to crack for me! First, she's encouraging Sam to stand up to her grandmother. But after the stories of Lady Neung and Song, she's wondering whether Sam should just give up. And then she comes up with the "curse her" idea. She's too messy with her thoughts 🀣 I prefer Kade (Sam's actress friend) for now. The actress also played in UN, but she's more interesting here.

As for Kirk and Nop... I'm sure they have their roles to play in the story, and we'll learn more about them as the time goes on. So far, I'm waiting a bit before making a final opinion, since I feel like we're missing important information about them. Both did things I found nice, but also some I didn't like πŸ™ƒ

I think Mon is a mysterious person, and is probably used to hide in her shadow. I hope Sam will discover her true…
>Sam isn't actually powerful as she try to look like. Mon has some advantages too.

I'm talking about their work dynamic, and how it can influence their personal relationship. We've seen that at the end of episode 3, when Sam takes Mon into their house under the guise of "work", forgets about work once they get there, and creates situations that would be highly uncomfortable (and dangerous!!!) in a strict employer-employee dynamic. She even threatens Mon to lower her pay or fire her.

Of course, we "know" they are into each other, and we "believe" that Mon can refuse whenever she feels like it. But do the characters know? In reality, Mon is at major disadvantage in this kind of situation.

Looks like Euthanasia (spin-off to MOD, set in the same universe as Triage) is getting a BL drama under channel One31. Note that this ISN'T the rumoured continuation to MOD or Triage (Transplant), which would most likely be handled by TV Thunder (Max-Tul company).

The connection of Euthanasia to MOD in novels appears to be just the place they are set in (the same hospital). So while the connection to Triage may be minimal (if any), it's bound to have similar atmosphere and medical/investigative plot. There's also a chance they might create their own connections (cameos) in the series, just to make the new drama more popular. They could also be connected by the character of Dr. Bunn (Dr. Bhan? Dr. Ban?), but I have no idea since I haven't read the books, nor watched MOD.

The casting is still underway. There are some rumours that the leads from To Sir With Love (Jam Rachata and Film Thanapat) may be involved. Timing of the announcement (few days after To Sir With Love ended) and Sammon's continued support of To Sir With Love on twitter makes me think there might be some validity to those rumours.

There are also rumours Be On Cloud's (KinnPorsche company) actors will be involved. But I couldn't find anything to support that, except for fan's edits and hopes.

NOW THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION!!!!

Will Rit be in it? πŸ₯ΊπŸ₯ΊπŸ₯Ί

Sadly, it looks unlikely. Triage and Euthanasia are set in different places, presumably at different times. That said: 🀑🀑🀑

The first half of episode 3 was so good! Funny when it was suitable, sweet just at the right moments... even Sam's cold personality was more endearing than just plain petty this time! Mon doesn't have much of a separate personality still, but I'm sure she'll get there πŸ’™

Second half was mostly tropes, light on plot, with a hints of dangerous power dynamics. But while the grandma's actions are almost cartoonishly despicable, Sam's are harder to crack. Hopefully that changes as the time goes on πŸ’œ

[Episode 3]

I knew she would blame her for the lack of sleep!

Is that her comfort book? 🀣🀣🀣

Kirk would never πŸ₯Ί

... I should reschedule my Saturday dinners an hour or two earlier πŸ™ƒ

Kirk is a dummy.

Oh, so it was her battle book of choice!

You go, girl! That's certainly not abusing your boss power or anything ☺️

The grandma never eases up, huh?

LMAO, is Sam's idea of "fan" based entirely on SCOY? Will she start to worry Mon will go and steal leftowers from Sam's house? Or go through her trashcan???
This is why correct media portrayal is important, kids!

Yeah... this is positively scary. Imagine how the scene would look if Sam was a guy 😬

I know this is a silly romance show. But certainly don't turn off the phone when you are away from home with strangers. Silence it, if you must.

You're too sweet, Nop. But if you're doing this thinking you'll get together with Mon, you should give up. You deserve more than one-sided like πŸ’œ [And Kirk is right there, somewhere πŸ‘€]

I want an indoor pool 😭😭😭
[I'd legit sell my soul to devil of your choice for a sheltered, heated, illuminated pool 😢]

The pool scene was better than I expected. That sad look of Sam spoke volumes.

Obligatory Slip N' Stare scene number 13.

I don’t know about the friend’s sexuality. 🧐 At the bar, he seemed to be really uncomfortable when he was…
Thanks for the heads up! That really makes sense. Let's see if the show goes the same route as the manga πŸ’™

I don’t know about the friend’s sexuality. 🧐 At the bar, he seemed to be really uncomfortable when he was…
I think he used female pronouns for the person who approached him ("she winked at me"), so that could also shake things up. Or it was just a translation error.

As for his gf, it felt very forced to me. Like his character is just playing the boyfriend, if that makes sense. And he has enough of a screen time to play a bigger role. So I feel there's something more to him.

Maybe i'm just reading too much into it, but something feels off πŸ€”

Fine, I'm dropping you.

I was excited for the long-awaited mlm progression, but like this? No. I'm not gonna repeat my GHGH rant, so just in short. Having no plot and bad writing? Manageable. Having a multifaceted plot and kill it with writing so horrible I just lose all interest in every story? Bitter. This is certainly a car crash, but it's a Tesla so nothing interesting in the flames.

KJH is a flag so black, even I would notice it irl. No matter how he feels, CJW needs to break free.

HTY is like a doggo, in a nice way. Could have ulterior motives, but it's less likely to backfire.

Editing is still a bit messy, but better than last week. I don't have trouble keeping up with plot.

For anyone wondering, fox tea costs ~1.5 USD/EUR per bottle. Not too expensive.

This has certainly earned its place on the "sad" pile. I just hope they stay true to the title πŸ’œ

Second episode was as short as the first one.

The humor isn't my cup of tea, but it was less cringy than yesterday. The story is fairly light so far. And Gu Mu Yeong's friend doesn't seem to be such a nice person in general, except to his friend. Or he isn't as straight as he presents himself 😢

Probably comes from the source material (novels).

It is funny but a joke, why a gay man reading straight comics and fall inlove with the writer of this comics since…
It's possible that Seon Ho was working on something else when Gu Mu Yeong was young, and only turned to adult straight comics later on because it was easier/paid better.

Episode 6 was so good! Cutest thing ever!! I got serotonin rush every time dutch boy was on screen πŸ’š

Episode 7, though... Boring. Stupid. I should have skipped the PhaYo drama. The only redeeming quality of the football drama was the pit revelation. Braindead girlfriend nonsense. Anticlimatic ig resolution. I want to forget I watched this episode. Except that one part.

Also, I really wish this had more natural subtitles, but I'm grateful to whoever's translating it.
On Oh! My Assistant Dec 1, 2022
This was fairly good overall, but I cringed so hard in the middle I had to exit out. Not sure if I can handle this till the end. But it's short, so I might manage.

I also didn't like the ending bar scene, sans the new guy making animal noises.

Bite-sized comedy to cheer you up in the evening? Not bad. But it hards to say if they go full comedy, or add angst soon. They don't have much time for deeper story tbh, if every episode goes under 15 minutes.

"I saw a comment stating that they don't like how exaggerated the stoicness of Sam is, but I gotta say that I love it"

Hi ,Jay! I believe the comment you were talking about was mine, and specifically this one:

"I disliked how unreasonably cold on the outside (/harsh) they made Sam, just to get the point across."

The comment was about Sam's actions in episode 2. I do agree Sam's not the only character that's kinda a caricature, but in the second episode they doubled on it too much imo. It felt very unreasonable to me and I believe it hurt her character in the long run. Instead of her becoming cold/distant/guarded/slightly jaded because of her upbringing, they made her into someone who's just rude and petulant for the sake of looking tough.

It's totally cool to disagree with me, though! I'm just curious to see if you feel the same way after watching episode 2 πŸ’š
