Yet again, a semblance of interesting conflict gutted into something that makes little sense and has even less of emotional impact.

Was Jake Kawin's boyfriend, or just a friend? Why was he taking care of Kawin? Were they living together? Without understanding how important Jake is to Kawin, his whole sidestory is empty. Even from Pluem's perspective. Why would he immediately call out the name of Kawin's "dead friend"? What does he know about Jake, and why aren't we shown at least as much? That guy had so little screentime, there might be people who don't even remember him!

Is Jake really that important to Kawin? You wouldn't know from Kawin's reaction to Jake's death. I'm more emotional than that when I stub my toe!

Thisshow feels like they had story written for 12+ episodes, realized they will have to cut it short, and instead of dropping any of the subplots, they just stripped all of them into their bare skeletons. We don't need a side story for every character if it takes 20 minutes, top.

Good point! It would certainly be more pragmatic to pair them up far away from the leads! ๐Ÿ˜Œ

Ok, so do we think season two will just be pure relationship fluff, or another suspense/mystery? Maybe both?? ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Oh, I'm sure she's gonna get a redemption arc. But entirely undeserved, most likely. Think any strict/homophobic (grand)parent at the end of BL.

I haven't seen episode 7 yet, but when it comes to number 6... I can't help but think there's so many wasted opportunities in the plot.

Kevin's ghost friend got like 5 minutes of screentime. The whole ghost family drama is pretty anticlimatic. Both See-foon's and See-nam's stories felt rushed and ended unsatisfactory for me. Yes, they were sad. But it could be much more emotional if they gradually built them up instead. The ghost parents don't seem to provide anything interesting for now, Pluem's father was used as a cheap plot-mover (both to break the MLs apart, and to waste the siblings' points)... Even the romance between our leads isn't that entertaining, as far as the plot goes! And it all got nailed with Pluem's sister. I was so sure she didn't talk because she was also mourning See-nam's loss! But the whole time, she didn't know? And then it "shocks" her into speaking again? The emotional reaction just wasn't enough for me, and it's such a shame.

This is my pet peeve with plot-centric thai BLs. I'm fine watching stuff when nothing much happens (when it can offer something other than interesting plot). But if you take a good premise, hint at possible interesting conflicts, and then just waste time on nothing while rushing through those at least slightly unique subplots... I'm more disappointed in it than if the production just went the standard "engineering college love story, featuring villainous female rival" route. Forget their supernatural rules make no sense. Forget the suspense/mystery that was hinted at in the trailer. For the most part, this is just bland. And pretty faces won't push it that far, since they are dime a dozen in BL industry ๐Ÿ˜”

I'm a bit confused... why did Mon's friend said "she hasn't debut yet" in a scene... She isn't a idol right?
I think she was just teasing Mon.

According to english subtitles on youtube, she says:

"There we go again. Youโ€™re drifting away. Youโ€™re already so head over heels with her though sheโ€™s not an artist. What if she debuts one day? Wonโ€™t you go crazy then, Mon?"

So it's not really implying Sam will debute. It's more of a hypothetical : "How would Mon react if by some miracle, Sam became an idol?" That kind of thing.

This series didn't get my attentionwell I guess it's because I'm not that into girls love series.. But I think…
I do believe there's certainly way more hype about it than there would be about a BL or straight romance of similar quality, but hey!! It's kinda the first mainstream thai GL done, so it deserves an extra bit of encouragement and love imo. Sometimes all it takes is to change the perspective a little, and even overused (to death) tropes can become fresh and exciting! ๐Ÿ˜„

I feel like I'm microdosing on multiple bitter(sweet) situations when watching this. We're jumping between the four stories so much, I'm having trouble to get attached to them. There also isn't much of a progress imo, just stale conflicts that are abruptly moved/interrupted and then the new stuff comes in. I believe it would be better if they focused more on one story at a time (max 2 stories per episode). It's not that bad plotwise, but I'm not enjoying watching it. More serious/somber than some other BLs I watch, though, so I'll probably keep it on a table and see where it goes ๐Ÿ™‚

1. The audio is a bit messy (especially the monologue at the start), but after cringing through Hard Love Mission intro today, I'm willing to ignore that.

2. The colors look vibrant, which might be an IDOLFACTORY style? SCOY felt similar in this regard.

3. I'm surprised we didn't get all the people raving about how rich, beautiful and popular Sam is. Maybe because it isn't set in school? Or because she's meant to look strict on the outside? Maybe both.

4. The plot gives a bit Work From Heart, and also Rak Diao (that one shared actress puzzled me for a while), but gl. Nothing complicated or too original, which is certainly a safe choice.

5. We still get compulsory white/pale skin comment, but this time without the noble/pretty connotations. Me approve ๐Ÿ‘

6. "Kirk" sounds kinda weird in thai. Like they were saying it underwater

7. We also get traditional "slip N' deep stare" scenes, and very untraditional (but entertaining) bracelet scene. No accidental kiss for now.

8. Nop should get together with Kirk. It would be pragmatic, and they both deserve their own happy ending.

9. BillySeng were most likely there for the same reason Saint was in SCOY (and should be in here, too). To boost popularity. It was a bit unrelated, but I don't mind. Sam as idol was worth it.

10. Their english is fairly decent, for a thai show.

Bonus: WHITE INHALEEEER!!

Overall, it's pretty good show so far! Fairly standard in terms of plot and quality so far, but there could be few surprises sprinkled in later on ๐Ÿ’š

Just finished the first episode and i have few things to say.Lets take the things from the start. The first scene…
I believe the first time they told Mon about Kirk, they used the word "partner". As in, business partner. That's something she wouldn't be shocked by.

My take on this drama is similar to my Even Sun opinion - sometimes I just do like trash if it's pretty and calming.

Episode 6 was a joke, the whole plot feels like failed comedy (see "kayaking"), you can guess what's gonna happen next almost immediately and the characters aren't anything special, either. But then - relaxing atmosphere. Beaches. Pretty colors. Cute boy(s). So simple you don't need to exert yourself. Short.

What more could you possibly want from mediocre thai BL? ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿงก
