I disliked how unreasonably cold on the outside (/harsh) they made Sam, just to get the point across. Nop is unfortunately still creepy and Sam's friends are giving me mixed messages.
That said, Sam's relationship with Kirk is really fun! Way more friends than lovers, for sure. Mon looks like she has some backbone, even if she still doesn't have much personality besides liking Sam. How long does it take to drive from their company to Mon's home, and who's paying for those damn taxis? We'll never know!!
"With a shirt this thin?" Is Sam implying Mon would be cold in the taxi, or that it isn't safe? Do taxis in Thailand not use heating?

Everyone can dunk on this for the lack of plot, weird acting, awful (sound) editing, short runtime, the kiss, villain treatment... and just about anything.
That said, I loved this drama! Way more than Even Sun. Adored the ending (though I wish he had the guts to say no), even got teary-eyed... Purely subjective, this is 8/10 fluff 💙

I also think they are already exes, or getting there fairly quickly. KJH seems a tad bit too controlling for me (what the frick was that "I think I can't give you a ride back???!"), while CJW doesn't look like someone in a happy relationship. There's also the whole point of KJH's career being tied to CJW's.
As for why CJW doesn't write - he wants to write under his own name. He's said he doesn't want to live as someone's shadow, and doesn't want to hide when he believes he's right. You could say it's all about his ego/pride, but it's very obvious that's where he's at. He didn't even want to do the editor job, presumably because it would mean conceding and giving up on his dreams. Writing under pen name would mean admitting fault. Like his name no longer holds any weight, and even worse.
Now, is he being threatened? Probably not. Is he being targeted? Quite obviously. He lost his job as soon as the scandal came out. The industry destroyed his friend's publishing house, just because she planned to publish his book. You could say that's been ~3 years ago and they don't care anymore, but his talk with the professor makes me think they're ready to strike again if necessary.
Him "criticizing" the senior writer was apparently way bigger deal than saying the senior's writing isn't up to par. I think he accused him of some kind of cheating (stealing other people's ideas, publishing another's stories under his own name, making things harder for writers he recognized as competition...), the kind of stuff that could ruin your career if proven to be true. He obviously has a lot of power in the industry, so it isn't out of question he's capable of preventing CJW from getting his work out.
Episode 1 was really good! The main 3 are good-looking, plot was engaging and it also hurt! The opening scene felt like BL climax of its own, we just needed a kiss. Writers are hiding something. Could be something dark 😶

As for the kiss / no kiss discourse... not only I don't think one is needed, it would actively go against the characterizations to make them kiss imo.
Mamoru is insecure the whole time, not allowing himself to pursue what he wants. He's embarassed to even hold hands in public!! He also didn't believe Issei is actually interested in him romantically, up until the last minute. Person like that would be very unlikely to go for a kiss right after the semi-confession imo. And that's not even considering the whole homophobia angle.
As for Issei... I could see him going for a kiss, but more in the "happy peck" way than actual romantic one. Issei's "cheerful" personality, combined with his inability to make his distinction between romantic and platonic love known is one of the main drives for the whole miscommunication plot. And they already had the hugging, handholding, intertwined fingers scenes... I doubt happy cheek peck would placate audience that's dissatisfied with the "no kiss" angle.
That said, it's true japanese BLs tend to go low on intimacy scenes. And there are certainly times when I feel it hurts the overall story (wedding plots, Mr. Unlucky...). But this one isn't one of them for me.
And I don't think every BL needs to have some minimal level of intimacy in order to be considered BL. Be it japanese, korean, thai or any other. What matters is whether it's convincing in the context it's put into.
The finale was way better than I expected it to be! Maybe a bit rushed (especially around the time skip plotline), but it was still enough for me to understand the effect on characters. This is exactly the kind of drama that is open to (and would benefit from) fluffy special episode or movie sequel 💚
