It's a thing. I'm alergic to black tatran tea! And seeing guys drink vodka straight π€’
Never use that logic on a fujoshi.
You should have more self-oriented dreams, girl.
Great, the number of 'wifey' comments is about to double! I would be put off, if it weren't just plain pathetic at this point. It's like they're collecting as many BL stereotypes as they can fit in π
Sun-Phet 10/10! Are you hurting me with this hope on purpose, AIS?!
And Pie is a jerk, as per usual π
Khim's food emergency was anticlimatic. Twice as much since it ended in sponge bath.
I'm still amazed how nothing can happen in this show 80 % of the time! I'm skipping more than I'm watching π¦
It would be rude to say "good riddance". Just know I'm not crushed by their deaths.
Rain is hiding in the underground bar. And he'll return home on the white horse π€
Shun's second of screentime π₯°
She's faker than my condolences to Khim.
That doesn't sound very medically accurate to me π
Pairings ratings!
1. Shun - 9.5/10. He's worried ππ Go get your man, darling! 2.RaShu - 7.5/10. I can feel Shain subplot in later episodes πΆ 3.Khim-Pie - 6/10. Looks like Khim's trying to work his way closer to Sun. But if we get the MemoryLossTM subplot, anything can happen. 4.Phet - 8.5/10. Cute again. Even had a bit of initiative this episode π 5.Sun-Phet - 8/10. Could get higher if Khim forgets Sun (we all know he will) 6.Baibua - 6/10. Was not here. Will she ever come back? π 7.PaBa - 3/10. Unless Payuu pulls out the 'I'm breaking up with you for your own good!' card on Rain, I don't see it happening anymore. Sorry, queen Ba π 8.Tony-Teacher - 5/10. Still haven't met.
It's both. They recap the first season (ends with episode 4, part 4/5), but from then on it's new content. So…
lol XD
As far as I know, β2 moons: the ambassadorβ should revolve mostly around a new pairing (Tarntatch - Lomnaw). Someone said they're from book 4, but I haven't read it, so...
I pray for no recap, and minimal subplots regarding the og couples (though PhaYo still has unresolved drama from 2moons2, so there's bound to be something about them π)
I am going with this theory: since the other productions had such major casting issues, there is little promotion…
"I am going with this theory: since the other productions had such major casting issues, there is little promotion so as not to bring negative attention to the new cast. If the show is amazing, weβll do the talking for them and spread the word. If itβs bad, well no one knew anyway, so no big loss. Although I appreciate that we will not be left on a cliffhanger from season 2, so even if itβs bad, Iβll probably still watch for the closure."
That's my take on it, too. Comments on Motive Village socials aren't exactly positive regarding the sequel already, so they most likely knew what they were doing.
"I hope itβs available for international fans."
Honestly, I have my doubts this will be easily available globally. First season was hard to come by, too, and only later added to LINE TV (which already shut down) iirc. Second season was available through Mello (Channel 3), and their youtube channel for international fans. This season doesn't have any information about international release yet afaik, and the broadcasting tv station (Amarin TV / 34 HD) doesn't have any international platform, either (there's a mobile app, but it lacks english interface and everything). I guess MV could potentially release it on their youtube channel, but that one has been abandoned and doesn't seem to be international-friendly (no subtitles). They could also make a deal with gaga, Viki, WeTV, iQIYI... not so probable in my opinion. It's meant to release in 3 weeks, and we haven't heard any of it yet. Plus MV didn't do any global promotion, really. But they could surprise us.
I think our best bet is, someone will take pity on international fans and makes fan subs. Maybe the original team from 2moons1? One can hope π
It's both. They recap the first season (ends with episode 4, part 4/5), but from then on it's new content. So you can choose to skip the first 4 episodes if you've seen 2moons1. They don't change anything important.
Interesting. Iβve found Nikeβs portrayal of In quite good and have been riveted by these scenes while Sasiwomol…
Fair. I agree he's more "subtle", compared to Sasi and Wang. That's fine. Good, even.
What I personally have problem with are his highly emotional scenes, which we could have seen in episode 5. I don't think he goes smoothly through the range of emotions he's trying to convey. So you'll have a dialogue where he's trying to look haunted, sad, musing, wistful and even slightly entranced, but the transitions don't seem natural to me and instead it's all kinda... "muddy".
I'm satisfied with his default acting, though. It's only the emotional parts I don't like π€
"I'm glad the story is respected (Maybe Afterday asked it that way)." I also think it's way easier to stick to…
"And more or less talented authors." πππ
"And, tbh, only a few bl are a masterpiece." True that. I think most of the fans have naturally low criteria as far as BLs go. But even then, I need at least A plot. Doesn't need the best written one, or the most in-depth depiction. Just have things happening, and have them make at least a wee bit of sense. The rest is just a bonus.
"Thai novels are very numerous, often written by young people, certain talented, others not, but this is a "reservoir" for series."
Yes, there's a lot to pick from, and they're often very similar as far as story goes. From what I've heard, a lot of them are first written in fan fiction-y, wattpad manner (Dek-d ?). I'd bet production companies mostly just start picking the most popular, most viewed ones to adapt, and only after that they look at what's the novel actually like.
What I personally admire is when the authors themselves admit there might be some difficulties with their works and try to help fix it for the adaptation. Sammon is a great example of this, going as far as rewriting the novels to be more up to their current standards.
"All novel writers, all producers and all actors are not on the same level."
Of course! For novels, you'd know way better than me how much of a spread in quality there is. I very rarely notice some actor doing way better/way worse than others in BLs, since I'm not that sensitive to it. But even to me, there are some that stick out π. And productions... after few shows from each, you can safely know what to expect from each studio I think π
This episode was almost perfect. They are teenagers, with teenage concerns (friends, first girlfriend, school...)So,…
"I'm glad the story is respected (Maybe Afterday asked it that way)."
I also think it's way easier to stick to a book with fairly simple slice-of-life premise and setting, compared to some other, more ambitious novels.
Take shows like Cutie Pie, Kinnporsche and Unforgotten Night, for example. In book, it's "cheap" to write characters with glamorous, lavish life. In real world, you can't just grab tigers off the street and make them do whatever you want. And every baht that goes into Yi's racing circuit, Kinn's heated pool and Kamol's Whipped Cream, is a baht that could have been maybe spent more effectively elsewhere (in screenwriting department, for example).
For medical and investigation stories like Triage and Manner of Death, you could write up highly detailed procedures that take hours. Or almost supernaturally skilled personel. But to teach actors to such precision, and devote as much time on screen for something many would find boring? It's not very realistic.
Fantasy/supernatural/sci-fi movies are a mix of both. For one, special effects and otherwordly structures aren't cheap to create. Explaining away whole new worlds, with their own set of rules and complicated theories, takes onscreen time and skilful writing many productions don't have. So it's often necessary to dumb down stuff and lose some dazzle in order to make a viable show, in time and within budget.
And finally, some productions diverge from the source material just because they don't find it very good, or palatable enough to show on screen. Sometimes, the less the show has in common with the book, the better the show can end up being. And when writers don't agree with the changes that need to be made, we get fan wars or shows that are anything but robust.
Is it just me or it's a strange coincidence that Call it what you want re-airs with a new dress just when War…
From my personal, very subjective opinion?
No, it's not a coincidence. I think both shows have unique perspective to offer. CIWYW has more of a somber tone, while WoY is way messier and has a lot of stuff BL fans like. If someone were to do a direct comparisson, I'd bet War of Y is way more likely to win.
How is the plot?! I don't care if there are tons of kiss scenes or sex scenes. I am looking for a plot-driven…
The plot is somewhat simple and on the slower side, but done very well. It's kinda bittersweet with some angst, but enough of a cute and heartwarming moments to balance it out.
I would say this is more of a character-driven drama, though. So if you are looking for strong and unique plot, you may have better luck elsewhere π
Parts of this are really good! The characters feel more real and natural than your standard BL, the environment is beautiful in its own way, and you can see the main leads are comfortable with each other.
The technical stuff isn't that great, though (and I'm usually not the one to notice such stuff, so I'm pretty sure more people would see it). The humor is so silly, it easily takes you out of the scene. It's short, so pacing issues are pretty apparent (like when they spend way too much time on the "ship" scenes, and the ending is then kinda shoehorned in).
But overall, I think I liked it. If you go into this with low expectations, you might be pleasantly surprised π

I haven't seen MoD yet, but I read some interview with Sammon where they mention it (question 11, if anyone's interested: https://theblxpress.wordpress.com/2021/05/22/in-conversation-with-thai-bl-author-sammon-scene/). Personally, I probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference, unless it was really bad π
