What a great review, thanks for this! I, like you, love Lu Si, and every time I see clips from this show I think I want to watch it, but the manipulation is out there, plain as day. I don't like these types of characters, unless there is a serious redemptive arc. And Chinese shows, in my opinion, are usually too long, so that manipulation would go on too long for me to come to like the characters. So, I'd like to thank you so much for saving me hours that I would never get back had I watched this.
Thank you for your great review. I've noticed that this is the failing of a lot of rom-coms. Too much filler, not enough time developing the characters and the love between them.
I wish that writers would do a focus group on what people want in a rom-com. For the most part, they are way off base, and I'm almost always disappointed.
I love the acting, and the trailers were kind of intriguing, but I don't want to watch a sociopath/psychopath in episode after episode. Thank you for this review.
Thank you for your specific review! This is one that has been put on my To Watch list (when I see scenes of the lead couple) and removed multiple times. You have solidified it for me. I'm here for the romance and I don't like terrible parents. Plus, I'm getting too old to waste time on a drama that is going to frustrate me, especially the ones that are long.
Thank you for your review. I'm on episode three and enjoying it thus far. I don't know yet if they will go back and show HOW they fell in love in their initial lives. They show him having her family killed, her saying she loved him and then killing him, with a couple of scenes with him protecting her, but no context. I live in hope...also hoping for a happy ending!
Thank you for saving me some frustration. Your reviews are always excellent. I was on the fence with this one…
Glad to help! I know my reviews are wordy, but I want people to know WHY I did or didn't like a show, so they can decide for themselves whether to try it.
