Great review! For me, if I have to sit through hours of a supposed "romance" I want a payoff at the end. I know, that's not real life and not everyone get their happily ever after, but I watch to escape the real world for a while. Thank you for the review and for saving me time!
You just watch sweety ,lovey, dovey drama it's doesn't mean Kdrama have not all those scenes just you didn't explore…
You are right, but it seems to be getting more prevalent. Everyone has their own preferences, it's just not something I care for. The older detective/police shows have less language. You are right, my preference is romance, because I like to escape from the real world at times.
One of the reasons I started watching K-dramas was for the lack of explicit scenes, violence, and language. I wish the makers of these dramas wouldn't feel like they need to "keep up with the times". It's jarring (for me) to watch something on Netflix that uses cursing, and I don't understand why that needs to be translated. That's just me though, but, in general, I think that people have become desensitized to those factors in tv shows. I've had more people recommend that I watch something, and when I've asked them later about the language/sex, they invariable say they didn't notice it. That being said, I think isang18 is correct, this show will probable do really well, because of this publicity.
I tried watching this drama but the characters are too much of losers for my taste, none of the plotlines are…
This is the third time I've tried watching this. I'd like to say third time's a charm, but it may not be. Although it's got a wonderful cast, I just can't warm up to it.
Wow, way to voice your opinion! Your thoughts are clear and concise. And I totally agree with you about the regression of K-dramas. I started watching them because I was tired of the trash in US shows. Now, Korean shows are often adding the things I was trying to get away from (and the cursing thing I just don't get, why do those words have to be translated!?!). People may say that what I'm asking for is not realistic - I don't watch tv for realism. I want an escape to a simpler, more pure time.
I'm starting episode three. How long will the villagers be so terrible? She went from abuse at work to abuse in a small town. I'm waiting for the "found family" to kick in.
Help please. I've read multiple comments that FL chases 2ML for the entire show. Really, it what episode do the FL and the ML actually get together? If it's toward the end, I'll skip this one. To me. having a lead character like someone other than the lead diminishes their love. And why, when we've got so many episodes, are the endings so rushed?
Though I don't agree with you on some things, I wish the writers would do a better job with the romance aspect of a rom-com. When they spend more time than together, when they never talk to and get to know each other, and when they finally get together, nine times out of 10 the ending is rushed.
