Ohh, I'm not a massive fan of variety but this one sounds like a lot of fun! It sounds like the viewer could learn from these Masters also, on slightly more simpler aspects of what they show us, and I'm definitely going to browse for some interests I like and try a few episodes!

It's alright! Quite a few j-horror fans show up here so someone might spot your comment and know! I personally don't know this but it does sound familiar... Have you tried looking at films such as Three.... Extremes, with the segemented sections? (My first thought was 3E and I checked and it doesn't sound like what you're describing). Only thing I can think of, but I'll be on the look out!

They also have variant regional forms of Mandarin that some people find hard to understand if they haven't learned the HK/TW form of Mandarin specifically. I can't understand 98% of the HK/TW stuff I watch and I'm studying Mandarin. Despite on paper being China's "property", HK and Tw are still very much their own places.
