“I don’t understand why I have to hear this” because you’re making miss neuroscience uncomfortable tf?? Let’s be real Sehoon doesn’t even feel sincere affection towards jiyeon and she knows it. His fragile pride is hurt bc he was rejected for the first time in his life by a girl who’s not even his type. He doesn’t give up despite being aware miss neuroscience doesn’t like him because he views her as some commodity to posses and conquer, he acts from a place of lack of acceptance over his hurt ego not affection. Sihun who had real affection towards jia gave her time to sort out her feelings and gave up on her when he found out she doesn’t feel the same about him to not burden her or make her uncomfortable, that’s sincere affection and respect. I was watching with disgust when he attempted to make soyeon look like a bad person because she hurt his ego by telling him the truth and he’s too cowardly to reject her now that the new 2 girls are interested in him, so much for “I like opinionated girls”. He doesn’t even realize he ruined his chance with the new girls because of his obsession with miss neuroscience, now they will find out he’s a creep making jiyeon uncomfortable to the point she wants to go home and will move to the other men. All the women can do so much better than the men available.

Killing off the captain at the end was too corny for me personally, it didn’t make sense and it was too obvious that it was added to the story to make the viewers shed some tears.
Despite the bad CGI and sensationalist ending I actually enjoyed this more than I thought I would! I liked the criticism of climate change that was an active theme and the moral questions the story had for the viewers, it’s definitely not perfect but it was a good enough attempt to enjoy imo. The acting from everyone was great, the cgi was terrible but honestly who expected otherwise? I give it 7.5/10
Yes, she exchanged sex for food because her only guardian was a drunk grandmother who didn’t care about her and she didn’t want to starve to death. She filmed all of them which tells me she wanted a revenge or some sort.
I have no idea about the healthcare system in korea but maybe the medical fees were from a private ward and not public healthcare? That might be pricy if you’re living in poverty
Disappointed that they didn’t reveal santa’s and K’s past in the end. We don’t know how K survived in the forest as a child and we don’t know anything certain about santa until the end.
I agree but I do think that the director was trying to criticise the misogynistic patriarchal society unlike many male directors who put women being raped and murdered in movies for fun and shits. It was shown how repulsive the society is towards victims of survival sex work and how little value a teenage girl’s life had in poverty without a powerful family. Unlike many korean movies i’ve seen I felt like mother had an impactful message and was way more morally complex and nuanced than most box hit movies.
I can’t believe how brainless do you have to be not understand this drama was made with the intention of being propaganda by the right wing because of the upcoming elections. Internationally popular idol was choosen intentionally as the lead to spread reformism. I must’ve overestimated the intelligence of kdrama fans, all you do is watch korean media all day yet don’t even try to understand the history behind 1987. There are plenty of movies covering the student protests yet none of them have gotten backlash because they didn’t try to distort history in order to fit into the right wing agenda.
Dojoon said in the end the murderer probably put her in the roof so people can see her and get her help. I think dojoon is unconsciously blocking his memory tbh
I finally finished the first boring episode but the CGI was so bad and the directing was so corny and outdated it even made the actors acting look questionable. For such a seasoned actress Jun Jihyun’s enunciation and dictation was lacking and even Ju jihoon’s acting looked awkward despite not being a bad actor. Kim eunhee is consistent with writing hit-or-misses, she’s very creative and a talented writer but once in a while she seems to hit the wall and the terrible directing doesn’t help it.
Question for those who weren’t satisfied by the ending, what would you change and what kind of ending would…
Personally I wished they showed HW WJ relationship before HJ and explained HW’s suicide better, was it before or after miscarriage? Im glad HJ in the drama finally admitted she was jelous of HW. Im glad HW started painting again and it was interesting how they changed “places” by the end of the drama. We saw HW actually giving up on revenge etc. But the bartender’s story was weak imo… im glad HW went to someone who actually loves her in the end.
