My guess is that the Thai version will cover much of the Japanese version's season 1 & 2 and will fill in some…
I doubt they'll adapt season 2. But I do think they'll adapt some parts of the movie.

Why did heng in intern period look more mature than heng in current timeline? 😂
Fr, what happened 🤔

the Boss looks like such a decent person it is hard to watch him lose it over his love for Heng 😂
You are so right 😅

I'm back~ 😌

I don't have much to say about today's episode. It was slightly better than episode 1 but at the same time less entertaining, at least for me. The only two scenes I enjoyed were 1) the boss explaining the meaning of the nickname he gave to Heng, and 2) the boss and Mo acting like nothing happened after their fight at the rooftop.

With this episode now I can confidently say that the boss is my favorite character in this version. I'm rooting for him even though I know it's pointless 😅

Also, mid-episode I got worried about the pace of the story. I felt things were happening way too fast compared to the original version; especially since this remake is almost twice as long as the original. But after watching next episode's preview, now everything makes sense. They are straying away from the original story and adding different plotlines / mini-arcs. I have no idea what to expect now. Hopefully they don't disappoint me too much 😮‍💨

I loved the Hong Kong version, but this one... the first ep didn't win me over, hopefully the second ep does.
The Hong Kong version was really good indeed.

Omg I didn’t even get that the wife was dead, I actually thought he had a very young wife which I thought was…
Yeah, that's what I meant when I said the daughter would end up with someone. Most likely the younger employee

I agree!!!
Why would I give feedback for a show that is already recorded? Unless GMM is going to read my comments and make changes, that would just be a waste of time lol.

Also, I have no idea where you got the idea that I wanted the Japanese humor to be removed; my main fear was literally that they wouldn't be able to replicate the type of comedy that Japanese dramas have.

But oh well, I hope you had fun with your comment. You can block me if you want because I'll be here every week to complain about this remake 😌

They are probably going to pair up the daughter with someone to replace the storyline of the wife. How boring and annoying 🙄

So this is what they did to my beloved Ossan's Love... I see....... Well, let's start off with the good parts: everyone looked great and the intro song was fun and suited the show imo. Also, I think the boss will become my favorite character in this version 😅. So far, I feel the actor playing the boss is the only one portraying his character properly.

Now, as for the average and bad parts, that's going to be a longer list:

- I already knew in this version the wife would be dead and would be replaced with a daughter, but it still hurts!!!! Choko (the wife in the original) was soooo iconic and had so many great scenes with the main leads. I already miss her so much 💔

- One thing that bothered me a lot were both confession scenes. They were so iconic and chaotic in the original but the Thai version just watered them down to the point they felt so dull.

- Also, maybe it's because I love the OG actor in the Japanese version too much, but tbh I feel Earth's portrayal of Heng was off. Instead of making me like Heng for how silly, kind, and clumsy he is supposed to be, it made me feel annoyed by how obnoxious and childish he was. Sigh... What a shame because I LOVE Haruta in the original.

- Ngl, I'm not the biggest fan of the fact that in this version Heng and Mo already know each other. But oh well...

- The comedy........ Well, definitely not great but I've seen worse and I already knew it wouldn't be as funny as the original so I won't complain too much about it... for now.

Tbh, there are other things that I want to say but this comment is too long so I'll stop here 😅

In this, if there are no exaggerated reactions, then it's not Ossan's Love. The HK version had the same exaggerated…
Yes! When I think of Ossan's Love, I think of the exaggerated and over-the-top reactions and comedy. Japan really knows how to make this kind of comedy work... Thailand on the other hand...... still has a lot to learn. This is the main reason why I don't think this remake is going to be good 😮‍💨

So that means I'll need to look forward to seeing you give criticism or be nitpicky on anything?I dont know, I…
It means I'll nit-pick everything (but occasionally praise it if there's anything I liked). I'm not declaring myself a critic just because I love the original version. Honestly, it has to do more with the fact that Thailand has disappointed me over and over with the writing of its BLs and with how it handles and uses comedy in its dramas.

An essential part of Ossan's Love is the comedy, and based on how GMM has adapted other Japanese BLs (Cherry Magic, Kieta Hatsukoi) that have not- so-over-the-top comedy, and still managed to make them extremely cringey and boring, I genuinely have no faith that GMM knows how to adapt a show with a more extreme comedic style like Ossan's Love.
