The most annoying princess award definitely goes to Lin An. How can a princess be this clueless? She deceived…
CDrama audience is mostly female, and they like grovelling male lead trope. It’s just screen writers trying to cater to their audience.
Although Lin An deceived Xu Qian, he would have figured it out if he really paid attention because he is exceptionally smart and good at figuring things out. But because he already liked her from the first moment he saw her, he didn’t suspect anything. Infact, he was the one who called her the grand princess, then she decided to play along with it.
She eventually apologized to him and he wasn’t upset at all, instead he offered to continue being her guest advisor.
has XQA forgotten that he is not from this world? he never mentions it or think about it again after the first…
He mentioned in episode 1 that he had a lot of regrets in his life in the modern world, so he wants to make the most of his life in DaFeng I guess. Something to note too was that he wanted to join the police but he couldn’t in the modern world, but in DaFeng, he is basically a police equivalent as a guardian.
Can someone spoil me how many people come from modern time and who?
Only Xu Qian is from the modern world. If you are asking because of the pictures, I’ll explain it, but this is a long spoiler if you haven’t seen episode 31.
In a nutshell, Xi Qian had a duel with Tianyu dharma sorcerers, and they cast an illusion formation where he will be trapped in an obsessive cycle where he will experience tragedy till his mind disintegrates, except if he can break free from it. 1 day in the world equals 1000 years in the illusory formation.
The illusion is made up of his past (before he transmigrated to Dafeng), and some from his present (his love story with Lin An). He never met Lin An in the modern world before he transmigrated, but the illusion created a false reality where he met her in the modern world, and her name is KeKe in the Illusion.
The illusion was set in the modern world too, which makes sense cos if you recall from the first episode, Yang Ling had a lot of regrets in his life, so when he transmigrated to Dafeng as Xu Qian, he decided to make the most of his time there by doing everything he couldn’t do in the modern world.
So setting the illusion in the modern world, with a mix of his past from the modern world and present from Dafeng and even a future where he couldn’t have the love of his life, was stuck in a loveless marriage and died lonely was meant to make him despair and lose his mind. Basically, his life was tragic and a complete failure. However, from his speech at the end of episode 31, it seems Xu Qian broke free from the illusion. His speech was:
“Does a failed life have no meaning? There are many meanings in one’s life. Living itself is meaningful. I’ve been there, I’ve done it, I once had it. Whether I succeed or fail, the experience itself is meaningful enough”.
Basically, he refused to acknowledge his tragic life as a waste, instead seeing it as a unique experience.
She is so annoying. I actually don’t care about her reviews because everyone is different and will like what they like. But this woman seems to only regurgitate talking points from Weibo, even if the negativity is from antis. I still haven’t forgotten when she went on a Wu Jinyan bashing spree while reviewing KMLM, saying she wasn’t beautiful enough for the role and that the second fl would have been a better match for the ML. That was just so bizarre because WJY’s looks had literally nothing objective to do with a drama review.
Besides GOTD got a huge hate train when it was released, but I think people are warming up to it now, and she doesn’t want to backtrack so she is doubling down on her nonsense.
DW’s voice actually really fits with his carefree character in this drama, so the director made a good call by letting him dub himself. I don’t even understand the obsession with accents, like..China has so many different ethnic groups, it’s a given they will all have their own accent? This is celebrated with English, why is it frowned upon with mandarin?
They really left it there???? (screams) I hate that they went back to an episode a day. Now we have to wait till…
It’s a mix of real and false to create a tragic illusion for him to become obsessed and trapped in. He had not met Lin an in his real life before he transmigrated to Dafeng world. So I think the illusory formation took his past and some of his present in Dafeng (his love with Lin an) to create the illusions.
I wonder if the supervisor knew that those Tianyu sorcerers would use an illusory formation for the duel. The illusory formation is a mental battle and seems more difficult to break out of. At least, with a physical battle, Shen Shu could help.
Probably Lord Wei's death.Although the Emperor somehow dislikes Wei Yuan, but a lifelong enemy is sometimes better…
Wow..I hope it’s not lord Wei. But, If it’s Lord Wei, won’t Xu Qian be completely heartbroken? Lord Wei is somewhat of a father figure to him. Qian seemed calm in the teaser.
This drama is so unique and the world building is very vast. If not for the 40 episodes cap, it could go on for 60 to 70 episodes. I hope season 2 will be released smoothly.
I have to give Lin An props again. I feel everyone just assumed because the supervisor told Xu Qian to fight the Tianyu dharma, then he could do it. But that dharma is at least 2nd rank, and Qian 7th rank. That is a whole chasm of difference in strength. It makes sense that Qian was scared shitless, even if he has Shen Shu’s arm to help. I love how Lin An kept positively reassuring him and boosting his spirits. Telling him to recite poems as he ascends the ladder might have been cheesy, but it actually helped to boost his morale, and the crowd too. lol
Xu Pingzhi is so shameless..lol. I could feel Xinnian’s embarrassment through my screen 😂 but his father is actually getting along well with his future father in law.
