I thought he would be a good fit but his acting just didn't make up for it. There's a reason why cnetizens think other actors would've fit because of their aura and acting.
He did a great job. And follows what the director say.
A director directs how the scene is played out, but facial expressions is really up to the actor. if the actor can't use his facial muscles subtlety then he needs to work on it. Your expectations of a "great job" differs from mine obviously.
I respectfully can’t agree with you. I think Xi Yun Lai is following the direction he’s being given. I love…
I think following the direction he's given is just an excuse of a poor actor. Yes, directors give direction on how to act scenes out, but facial muscle acting is that of the actor himself. There's a difference. CDL does a lot of subtle acting compare to the actor.
I think he is doing a wonderful job. Enjoying his acting a lot.
Good for you, i am not. I had high expectations but he's not doing very well in my book. A stoic character does not mean the actor needs to be blank all the time. To compare, a recent stoic character I've seen is Wen Yi Fan played by Zhang Ruo Nan. She brought her character to life with subtle facial movements and great eye acting, instead of just looking like a lost puppy. I don't see that here with Yun Lai's acting.
Xi Yun Lai's acting is a such a huge disappointment. I was excited to watch more of his acting but all he has to show is being an eye candy. Chen Du Ling is carrying the acting for both of them at this point. EDIT: It's clear that some people cannot dicepher between a bad actor and a stoic character and that's fine. Being a stoic character does not excuse the actor from not acting with their face. There are plethoras of stoic characters in c-dramaland, and those who are considered one of the best actors are the ones who's able to do subtle acting with their facial muscles. What I expected was not some frivolous acting, that is not it, I expected some facial muscle movement, even if it's just eye acting but there's none coming from the actor. His face is either just blank majority of the time, looking like a lost puppy, or just angry, that's it. Heck, his lips barely move - yes lips can give expressions as well. There's no versatile subtle expression that give the audience a hint of what his character is like. It's because of his acting that some c-netizens think the leads don't have any chemistry. They're even thinking of other actors that could've done better. lol I don't think he should be replaced, but I expected him to pick up on the acting, but alas he did not.
Kidn of sad Ma Siyi only get like 2 episodes in their adult years. :( I love the reunion between Siyi and Fenghua, it was so emotional. T_T Besties reunitedd once again!
I need a special episode of Yuwen and Xiwen getting their happy ending instead of the jackass of a father ruining Xiwen's life. How cruel of him to keep Xiwen wheel chaired bound for most of her life, stuck in a mansion that brings her nothing but torment. You can't force love, dear Shiyang, You can keep her physical body but you will never gain her trust nor love and it's been 20 years old man. >:o
The fact that this drama is so realistic, it just adds more dislike to Wang He. I will never like people who think of money before their employees. It's just wrong, and he had the audacity to yell at his childhood friends. ugh yeah sure he's just following orders but he won't even sit down and understand Xingchi, instead he just yells and yells. I absolutely dislike people like that.
Forgive me but did the son really call his baby, HANBANG?! As in HAMBURGER'S HANBANG?? idk Korean but that was my first thought and it cracked me up. LOL
His face is frozen, especially around his mouth. Notice his upper lip never moves. I noticed this while watching…
I never enjoyed Yang Yang's acting because he couldn't move his facial muscles until Who Rules the World is where I noticed his improvements but not enough for me to go " wow!" I haven't followed his works after that drama so I can't say how he is now.
Worse father and fake husband of the year goes to Shiyang. 😡
