First of all, thanks for finally answering my question that everyone else failed to answer. Second of all, judging someone's acting skill is very much subjective! You can enjoy her acting, while there will be others who won't enjoy it as much. It's totally fine! Thirdly, it has nothing to do with her being cute, but it has everything to do with her FORCING more cuteness into her character that makes it unnatural in a modern setting. Especially when everyone around her is not on the same wavelength as her. In addition to the fact that this drama isn't marked as comedy. Heck, the point is she's doing it excessively and it's not looking natural. So if I can't say she can't act, what makes you have the ability to say she CAN act? You don't have any, right? Therefore, anyone can say whatever they need to say about an actress because she is here portraying a character for the audience to watch! I am an audience, I will critic her acting, what else am I suppose to do? Even grandpas and grandmas would be judging everyone's acting, you act like no one should be judging her. This isn't about whether or not Esther is cute. It's about the CHARACTER she plays. Not every character of hers need to be cute. Yes, I know she is naturally cute, but there's a difference between naturally being cute and acting excessively cute. For example, when she pouts or smiles its like :3 instead of a normal smile. She does a lot of pouting, very cutesy expression. Hence, I'm wondering whether the character is like that in the novel! If she continuously acts cute in majority of her roles then it's clear she's not a very good actress.
