Most of the time it has to do with their mandarin accents. They need standard mandarin, other times it's because their original voice does not fit the role. I think Lu Yu Xiao dubbed her own character here, it sounds like her to me.
i personally quite like it.There's only 4 episodes, not sure why people are judging so quick already. lol We are still in the beginning stages and watching each individual character's personality shine and grow.
As for romance, it takes time. Seems to me its enemies to lovers. Except someone fell in love at first sight. 👀
I'm pretty excited for this because I love Lu Yu Xiao's acting ability. And Liu Xie Ning does a great job in her previous roles as well. Wang Xing Yue is okay, he doesn't really portray expressive characters so I'm not sure if I enjoyed his acting yet so let's see how he does in this one. I've never seen Wu Xuan Yi's dramas before but I will support a fellow Hainanese regardless! :)
The final episode had me bawling 😭 Yuqi saying she didn't know anyone when she came back and was alone until Yao casted her into Keep Running. 😭😭 The talk between Zheng Kai and Li Chen - 10 years of being family 😭 Sha Yi just bawling before Bai Lu even said anything. ughhh

Yes, Fan Yue is more lenient, I can understand ofc. What I don't understand is why Mu Jiu suddenly wanted to followed them and confessed his love for Tian Huo. lol Like I said, they're just doing it for the convenient of the plot but it doesn't transition very well.

By "palace" I mean the palace Fan Yue is in charge of aka the one in the mortal realm(i dont remember name so i just called that one palace). Tian Huo clearly said he kept following them. I don't think they were even close enough for him to follow them that desperately. Hence it's kind of odd. But it's convenient for the plot since they needed the water stone from the fox clan.
It feels like there's no smooth transition in the plot line. Mu Jiu suddenly likes Tian Huo? And he just so conviently follows them back to palace and they suddenly need something from his clan.People can come in and out of Cold Spring Palace? Fu Ling desperately wants Chong Zhao's love (love at first save?) These plotlines just feels awkward and out of place. I can't explain why I'm not loving the way the story moves because I've never felt this way towards a drama before. I wanted to love this drama due to the quality and actors but the plot just ruins it for me.
