I think the actor that Liang Jie has the best chemistry so far with is Steven Zhang
Actually I think it's the same with Xincheng - Liang Jie is the leading lady he has the most chemistry with so far in the dramas for me. They're both really natural actors and good at creating a believable onscreen couple.
Yessss, finally a new Zhang Xincheng drama! The first few eps were too funny - I kept pausing to laugh and then having rewatch, first at the scenes between ML (or rather the FL? hahahah) and his agent, and then later at the conversations between the ML and FL.
This was a hard one. I was so torn between Go Ahead and Flower of Evil as my first pick because both dramas made me turn on the waterworks - I went with Go Ahead in the end since it didn't just make me cry, it made me laugh a lot as well,
I recommend young blood, it's a really good and well thought drama. though it's a low budget, you will never regret…
Yes, I've started Young Blood - it's so much better than I expected from the poster and summary and Xincheng's portrayal of Yuan Zhongxin really gave me more appreciation for him as an actor. He's so good at building unique characters even though he's a relatively new and young actor. I hope we get to see him in more meaty roles soon!
I adored this dude so much in Go Ahead but it's Skate into Love that's really made me into a fan. Can't decide which drama to watch next - it's always such a pleasure to get into new actors!
I prefer the first season of the anime out of all the adaptations of the source material to date but this was actually a pretty good adaptation. I've actually watched it 3 times! Can't wait for the sequel to air as well.
Just try 18 Again, and that should bring you out of such slumps, It's a heartwarming melodrama and even tho there's…
I second this. After Flower of Evil, 18 Again is one of the few that I really enjoyed. Would love to see Kim Haneul and Lee Joongi act together someday.
The writing and acting are nothing to write home about but the drama is still pretty entertaining, especially when you just want something light to play in the background.
I was prepared to drop this after a couple of eps because I'd already seen the original American film and the…
I also have to say, the scriptwriter really deserves recognition for this one. It's amazing that they managed to take the cheesy premise of the original film and turn it into the gem that's 18 Again.
I was prepared to drop this after a couple of eps because I'd already seen the original American film and the plot seemed to be identical. I was not expecting this drama to knock me off my socks and turn into a really heartfelt touching family drama that brought me to tears more than once. Kudos to Kim Ha Neul in particular. I've never seen her in anything before but she was the soul of this show for me. And the younger cast was surprisingly solid as well. I'll definitely keep an eye out for their future dramas.
I just recently completed this drama, n I'm literally wondering now, is there a role where LJG doesn't fit? I…
He's grown into a phenomenal actor but I have to say, I wish he develops a better eye for picking projects and better luck. Apart from Flower of Evil, he hasn't really starred in a great project in a quite some time.
dhkdg can they PLEASE give him a different profile picture, this one does him so dirty
I tried changing it to a more recent picture but it got rejected. Guess he's stuck with this one until they decide he's significantly "aged" since this was taken.
Even as someone who's been watching his dramas for years, I was not expecting the incredible performance he gave in Flower of Evil. I hope he challenges himself like this more and gets to work with good directors like the FOE director more because it's clear that he still has so much potential for growth.
This is easily the best k-drama I've seen in years - the cinematography and the acting were incredible and kept…
And I have to say, I saw so many mixed reactions to the ending but the show actually ended strongly for me despite glossing over a few points (like Jung Misook's reunion with her husband and Hyunsoo's memories before the age of 10). I liked that it wasn't a fairy tale ending - Flower of Evil was never a fairy tale to begin with after all - but that there's so much hope for a better future for all of the characters.
This is easily the best k-drama I've seen in years - the cinematography and the acting were incredible and kept me glued to the edge of my seat every week. That said, I do think the show was let down a little by the writing and pacing in the last few eps where everything became far too rushed. This would have benefited from being 1-2 episodes longer.
As a long time fan, I was disappointed with his acting in Monsters and Buzzer Beat (I will never understand how he got so many new fans with that drama ><), but he was solid in Ending Planner and Code Blue. None of those characters were similar and the only one who reminded me a little of "Yamapi the idol" was Masato.
He's not really a pro actor, but in my opinion, he's better at carrying a drama compared to quite a few of the pretty boy model turned actor types and Johnnys idols that producers like to cast :).
