To be honest I loved the drama but hated the end, the hole it was a book plot really disappointed me, wish they…
Yeah it's unfortunate and at first I thought it was the scriptwriter being lazy ... but people were saying that ending was necessary to get the drama to pass the trial because of the themes involved.
Yeah, I guess sometimes the right role and crew can really make a huge difference. I hope she goes on to pick up more complex roles like this - I'm looking forward to her next works now.
Zhao Lusi is a delight as always and I hope we'll see more depth to Bai Fengxi as the eps go on (so far her character is very reminiscent of Sang Qi). I'm not really invested in the main CP so far though - it was more interesting to see her with the actor who played Yan Yingzhou.
This drama wasn't without its imperfections - there's parts of the story that are repetitive/too rushed and it's a shame that some of the more interesting scenes were animated instead - but overall, this is probably my fave historical cdrama to date after NiF. I have a soft spot for all of the main characters (and actors) but I think it's Le Yan and Chang Ge who I connected with the most. I have to admit, I thought of Dilraba as just another pretty face (particularly after YAMG) but Long Ballad gave me a newfound appreciation for her as an actor.
Checking this out simply because it's been too long since I saw Pi in a new drama. I wish this was available on Netflix or other legit portals like kdramas/cdramas are these days, sigh.
Can anyone confirm that this drama is happening and is separate from their short film?
Not sure if you've already heard but the drama started filming last year and they're supposed to wrap up in Feb/March. Saw some pics by people who spotted them filming in Wuyuan and the surroundings look gorgeous.
Hmm, I can't see Zhang Xincheng taking on a role like this and I'd rather see him with an actress around his age but it will be a change of pace to see him in a historical. Is there a credible source for him being listed as the ML here btw? This is just one of the many dramas he's rumoured to be in and there seems to be other male actors rumoured to be the lead in this too so I'm not certain why MDL picked him to be listed as the ML in this entry.
I have always been impressed with Steven Chang’s acting, enjoyed Skate into Love, Go Ahead, The day of becoming…
https://youtu.be/O7RvHeu9oew?t=203 - ikr and he can sing while playing the piano too <3. He majored in musical theatre at college and attended secondary school at the Beijing Dance Academy. I guess that's why he seems to be a bit of a jack of all trades.
Steven Zhang is like woah. His talent! The ability to act so many different characters and genres made my eyes…
There's some parts of this drama where the writing/editing of the drama is a let down, especially when it comes to the way the FL's character is handled in the middle. But If you like Steven's acting, I'd recommend at least giving this a try. This is probably the most challenging role he's done and he's good as both the ambitious, young version of Yizhi and the older world-weary version of Yizhi so far.
People on the comments why LiangJe is sfl.Me shipping the leads and oh Elvira Cai is sopretty but i hated her…
I'm totally shipping Yi Zhi and Li Zi too. And Elvira Cai is seriously so stunning.
Ep 10 actually made me sympathise with Li Zi but it also made me hurt so much for Yizhi. It's a good thing that the previews show that they get closer in the next couple of eps!
they didnt married in episode 4, what are you talking about?
I've seen up to ep 4 and the marriage hasn't occurred yet. But I think it definitely happens soon - it seems to me from the next ep preview that the FL marries the ML for reasons related to her revenge vendetta. This drama is supposed to span 15-20 years of their life together so I guess we'll see them slowly become closer after marriage.
There's not much focus on romance since the ML and FL only interact a couple of times in first few eps. From the episode previews, it seems the FL gets married to the ML for other motives.
Yeah, the intended drama to be aired went from Oath of Love to The Abyss to The Justice within two days. I was…
I didn't hear any rumours about Abyss airing soon but I don't think that would have been possible? It just finished filming a few weeks ago if I'm not wrong.
The Justice is shaping up to be a good one - the first few eps are fast paced and the drama has pretty great camera work, acting and writing so far - and it has potential to be great. Which makes it even more of a shame that the tv station basically threw this production to the wolves by making it the substitute for OOL and not giving it proper promotion :/.
Sigh, I waited for this drama so long but I wish it didn't have to air in such a rush due to the tv station's last minute decision to replace another drama with the Justice. Hope people can be rational about this instead of going after the cast for the tv station's decision!
Is Steven Zhang dubbed in this drama? He sounds different
I don't think Steven's been dubbed in any of his dramas. It's still noticeably his voice here but I did think he seems to have used a lower (and more charismatic) tone for Jiang Yi in this drama while using a higher (and more hyper hahaha) tone for the times he's playing Sheng Sheng. I really love his lower range so much.
