Im so curious to find out what happened to make Pei Zhi avoid her, when he was the one who gave her the picture…
I'm so curious too! It seems they changed a lot of the plot / characters for the drama (although idk if it's for the better hahahha). Right now, I suspect that the person who gave LCX the photo is cheese!PZ - he could be the person who gave strawberry!PZ the mysterious recorder too.
I normally like Zhang Zifeng a lot but I think she was mis-cast in this role. Her acting seems forced, she comes…
From the last few eps, LCX's characterization and her circumstances (and really the circumstances of most of the older versions of the main cast) seem to be very different in the drama compared to the book. I guess what I'm saying is - I don't think she's mis-cast so much as playing a very different version of LCX.
it hilarious to me how ZXC is always in the best dramas, this guy never misses. either him or someone on his team…
Yes, he seems to have a pretty good eye! I wouldn't say he has no misses but imo his hit/miss ratio is good considering he's a young actor and not from a well-known acting agency. It's only lately that he seems to have access to more high profile / big budget projects.
Yeah I've watched up to ep 8 and so far LJY is the only one of the three leads that has significant screen time.…
LCX is actually the main character in the source novel (although PZ really doesn't crop up all that much) and most of the story so far has been centred on her younger self but we'll have to see how this plays out. There's no telling how the scriptwriter may have changed things up after all ^^;
i wanna clear a doubt - she comes back to her own world and here the main couple falls in love too , right ? i…
The drama is a bit different from the novel in that PZ from one of the worlds also seems to be one of the dimension travellers - it adds an additional layer of complexity because now it's not clear which version of PZ and LCX wind up liking each other. I hope the scriptwriter manages to wrap things up well!
Finished the first 6 eps and I was surprised by the lack of screentime of the two leads. Still, Zhang Xincheng…
Yeah I've watched up to ep 8 and so far LJY is the only one of the three leads that has significant screen time. But I think it's expected because the parts where they're in elementary and middle school are pretty extensive in the original book too.
I'm guessing they might age the characters up a bit for the next jump back to the cheese world and play out the events that were supposed to happen in middle school in a high school setting instead - there are a lot of shots of ZXC and ZZF in school uniform in the previews.
It seems like one or more characters travel back and forth between the original dimension (strawberry world) and alternate dimension (cheese world) throughout the story. The first jump back to the strawberry world is probably around ep 10 from the episode teasers.
The trailer was really on fire. I really hope I don't get let down by this one because my expectations are now…
Ahhh so either a lot of this got cut or the writer is just ... not good. The first few eps are quite slow. Deng Jia Jia and Steven Zhang have great chemistry though - I'm literally just watching for the love line at the moment. I wish they'd do an outright romance drama together :')
The trailer was really on fire. I really hope I don't get let down by this one because my expectations are now sky high. (And omg I knew we'd probably get good chemistry between DJJ and ZXC because they're good actors but I was not ready for that amount of skinship.)
To be honest I loved the drama but hated the end, the hole it was a book plot really disappointed me, wish they…
Yeah it's unfortunate and at first I thought it was the scriptwriter being lazy ... but people were saying that ending was necessary to get the drama to pass the trial because of the themes involved.
Yeah, I guess sometimes the right role and crew can really make a huge difference. I hope she goes on to pick up more complex roles like this - I'm looking forward to her next works now.
Zhao Lusi is a delight as always and I hope we'll see more depth to Bai Fengxi as the eps go on (so far her character is very reminiscent of Sang Qi). I'm not really invested in the main CP so far though - it was more interesting to see her with the actor who played Yan Yingzhou.
This drama wasn't without its imperfections - there's parts of the story that are repetitive/too rushed and it's a shame that some of the more interesting scenes were animated instead - but overall, this is probably my fave historical cdrama to date after NiF. I have a soft spot for all of the main characters (and actors) but I think it's Le Yan and Chang Ge who I connected with the most. I have to admit, I thought of Dilraba as just another pretty face (particularly after YAMG) but Long Ballad gave me a newfound appreciation for her as an actor.
Checking this out simply because it's been too long since I saw Pi in a new drama. I wish this was available on Netflix or other legit portals like kdramas/cdramas are these days, sigh.
Can anyone confirm that this drama is happening and is separate from their short film?
Not sure if you've already heard but the drama started filming last year and they're supposed to wrap up in Feb/March. Saw some pics by people who spotted them filming in Wuyuan and the surroundings look gorgeous.
I'm guessing they might age the characters up a bit for the next jump back to the cheese world and play out the events that were supposed to happen in middle school in a high school setting instead - there are a lot of shots of ZXC and ZZF in school uniform in the previews.
